Is Adam right?

If thought if I lifted weights and got big , men would consider me the alpha and I could get a gf.
Adam says that there is no such thing as an alpha male and beta males are better at relationships.

Not going to read this shit because I always have to suffer through this faggots commercials while watching impractical jokers but

>no such thing as alpha male
>betas are better partners

Can't have both. Either betas, and necessarily as a result alphas, exist and betas are better partners or neither exist. Honestly though, what else would I expect from some limp wristed pencil neck cuck that relies on studies that aren't repeatable to make a claim that something is a fact. According to a well known economic study, factually abortion leads to less crime. What a quick read over of the results doesn't tell you is that it is impossible to account for all the variables and unless the study is replicated repeatedly both in the same conditions and in differing conditions it merely shows a correlation. Same shit is happening with sports now too. Faggots like bill simmons, some frail nasally know it all bitch boy, create their own metrics (muh advanced statistics) and use those to "prove" their own opinions despite having never actually played the game competitively in their life yet kids eat that shit up while legit nba legends who have an intimate, intrinsic, first hand knowledge of the game are brushed off when they make claims like magic and bird are better than lebron (they are).

Studies and statistics are important but taking them as gospel without context is retarded, and often times, such as with sports, they should only play a supplemental role. You'll never be able to tell how great a player was simply by looking at the box score

This correct. There aren't alpha or beta males and those terms aren't useful as personality profiles and those profiles aren't useful as indications of worth. Like alignment on DnD, they obfuscate more than illuminate. Use actual specific adjectives to talk about what you like in people and what you expect out of yourself, and don't weigh one set of these as better virtues than the other. You can still strive to be confident, secure, and outspoken, but know that those qualities don't have to come with aggression, abrasiveness, or "dominance". And compassion, empathy, and inoffensiveness doesn't have to mean boring, weak, or anxious.

Impractical jokers is dope. My squad and I watch it all night at work.

Just use wikipedia and look at the alpha male section to do with silverback gorillas.

They exist. He just built his video on the alpha wolves strawman

>Beta males are better providers
Who ever argued against this?

If alpha males don't exist hen how do you explain this? youtube.com/watch?v=WKFdlGarlos

>Betas are better partners for women whose sole purpose is to extract resources from men

No shit.

It's fucking hilarious. My favorite game has to be the balloon game but any appearance by Tony gunk, any mention of cranjis mcbasketball (or dr. shrimp Puerto Rico), or any glimpse of sals Jaden smith tattoo instantly gets me laughing

If you look at his sources, most of the time when it comes to scientific stuff, they're pretty weak and he himself had a video where he showed how flawed psychological studies are and how hard it is to replicate a clear result. It's not like alpha males don't exist. Just by observing a group of males interact with each other, you will see an alpha male emerge for that situation. When the situation changes, another male who is more familiar with this situation becomes the alpha male for the moment, but you're going to see certain individuals who never become the alpha male in any of the settings and these are beta males. Maybe his arbitrary definition of an alpha male doesn't exist but a different arbitrary definition of alpha males exists.

Nowhere in the video dose he mention working out or self improvement, you people are fucking delusional.

>Numale argues there is no alpha
Surprised

>Bonobs live in a matriarchy

this is just dead ass wrong though

>unironically using the word "numale"

I've got some bad news for you, bud

You have a real point with the studies but you sound like a nostalgic old dude who hates anything new when it comes to sports. Even if there are legendary players who did amazing feats in your youth, there can still be better players today. I'm not saying your examples are right or wrong, just that watching something when you're younger is a completely different experience and more impressive to you than if you see the same thing when you're older.

Alpha is just shorthand for high status. For humans this can be dominance or prestige, but either way in primates the high status males tend to take care of the pack, and maintain good relationships.

>watching the actual video

From what I could find on a quick search, female bonobos mash muffs and form strong bonds as a result and form their own structure of the alpha female and so on. Male bonobo's social standing is determined by their mother's social standing. This would quite literally be a matriarchal society. Did I miss something?

Also they don't use force or intimidation to make males submit to their rules (like in Adam's example). They use sex.

>This male type doesn't exist
>But this male type does and it's better for relationships.

...what?

And yeah betas are better for relationships because their chances of finding a better partner while in a relationship are lower than an alpha male.

5/10, got me to respond.

I'm not saying there aren't incredible players today, I'm aggrieved at how focused all (non-player) analysts are with simple stats. Look to the greats to see what they think about analytics and they'll tell you they have a place but only to complement what traditional analysis tells you. These are guys that had to watch tape of all the other teams in the league before games and that watch basketball everyday and comment on it now for a living. Take westbrook. Dude is a beast but I don't have to look at his per to know he's a beast. You don't need to show me his box score for me to know he dominates a game. The problem is, especially online, people use per and stats as the only argument and that is disingenuous on so many levels.

>doormats
>better providers
until shit hits the fan

Okay, I see where you're coming from now. That's an understandable position.

>Beta cuck makes video about alpha men not being a thing
Makes you think...

i'm not watching that shit, can someone bulletpoint the arguments?

>That dig at Alpha M.
>Being jealous of a fucking manlet
Only a beta would go this far

Of course, any amount of arbitrary definitions apply. You've kinda got to settle on one definition to talk about. You're definition hardly seems useful. It seems like you're literally just talking about leadership, and experts taking charge in situations related to their expertise. I've never seen this described as being alpha, so to use it as a grounds for supporting the use of "alpha/beta males" as nomenclature seems fallacious.

Of course, if you were to demonstrate that this is the way these terms are defined by more than just yourself, I would concede that it is a realistic description of group problem solving and leadership. I would still, however, argue that the terms being used to describe specific profiles of virtue is confusing, inaccurate, and ultimately destructive.

This guy is nu-male incarnate.
No one should listen to his "facts"

Adam is also a lazy and inactive person with a crappy gimmick for his "employment"(which isn't gonna last forever,of course),he has no skills to be proud of. Not to mention his physical appearance is subpar, he hides his weak jaw under the nu-male beard, ugly eyes under the hipster frame glasses, and is a fat person who looks exactly like the thousands of other obese nu males with these glasses. I do not take advice or life lessons from such individuals,as it is quite clear that adam is a retard and my judgement is ultimately what I'll follow.

So what's wrong about using the term numale?

>bud
I'm not you bud, friend

I don't think this is an accurate representation of the use cases of the terms "alpha" and "beta". Even if it were, it wouldn't derive the same personality traits which are currently actually implied by those terms.

Yeah, I couln't make it past 30 seconds.

Because he's a Nu-Male and projecting

Adam is never right.

Alpha/beta/gamma/omega alignments are useful terms for male roles in human interactions: leaders, supplicants, loners, outcasts. It's not supposed to be grounded in biology, it's a psychological tribal interaction and temperament study.

>Man makes argument against the existence of alpha/beta dichotomy.
>"Of course he is wrong because he is only a beta."

>Man makes argument against the existence of psychic/non-psychic dichotomy.
>"Of course he is wrong because he is only a non-psychic."

This is some pretty shit logic, user.

>ebin ad homiminem XD

>magic better than bron
Lost all credibility there mate

we out here family. Impractical Jokers is the only show I watch on TV anymore

Well if you don't make all the assumptions Adam made (alpha males get everything they want, including jobs, women and riches) alpha males quite literally do exist and my arbitrary definition (ability to lead) seems to coincide somewhat with the dictionary definition.

alpha male
noun
noun: alpha male; plural noun: alpha males

1. the dominant male animal in a particular group.
2. a man tending to assume a dominant or domineering role in social or professional situations.

Unfortunately, I'm not a scientist so I have no demonstrations for this, but everyone can observe this as many times as they want and draw their own conclusions. Just observe how men behave in a group and how the dominance framework works and how much this coincides with the expertise on the subject and also observing the individuals who purposely and always remove themselves from the leadership roles (beta males). We all know, science is nothing special. It's just a summary of many small pieces of evidence that would otherwise seem like anecdotal evidence. Especially with something like social interaction it's easy to draw conclusions in this way.

When we think of alpha males in humans, we think of confident outgoing men with attractive features. Right? Is he trying to say that these people don't exist but the opposite does?

He's trying to convince you to be a nu-male cuck. It's part of his sexual strategy to convince other white guys to be weaker, which evens out his odds.

Women can't really say that they want a stronger person to bully them but numales like him actually believe that they don't

Do you actually believe this? Memes aside.

>watches Adam Ruins Everything
How dumb and lazy do you have to be to let a internet comedian determine what ideas are or are not valid?

it seems like this guy goes out of his way to make himself look as annoying as possible, why do people watch him?

Literally who?

Turns out a television show isn't an authoritative source of information. Oy vey I wonder how much of a cooincidence this? Shut it down?

LARRRRRRY

Yes user there is no such thing as an alpha male, don't you know women prefer betas who provide in a relationship? Keep playing your video games and watching your anime, keep giving money to girl streamers, keep watching your cuck porn, and remember to always be progressive :^) there is nothing good beyond who you are rn and you just need to indulge in everything and anything that drops into your lap.

Okay, this video seems extremely cringe. I stopped less than a minute in.
Honestly I could never understand these guys who go into the youtube business where they spout scientific "facts" most likely without a STEM background. Anyone who has ever read papers in soft-science knows that half of it is bullshit made by some blonde female "researcher".

I more or less agree with this part. There are musicians who can perfectly be emotional, yet tell you to fuck right off.

No one. Everyone is a provider though, even the Alphas. They just provide different things. That's why a healthy relationship requires someone who isn't too Alpha or Beta for his own good. In modern society being an overconfident asshole can be extremely detrimental. The manager who thinks he is the hot shit is an easy kill.

Beta by my definition is more like the beta orbiter, those are the real betas who take shit from a woman without being forced to do it and have absolutely no confidence or integrity. Basically what describes. Video games are a form of entertainment, but some people literally live on twitch and steam (without making a business out of it like gamedev). I had a roommate like that.

Some people say that being a leader makes you alpha, but I don't think that being a non-leader automatically makes you a beta. Despite not leading in the conventional way your opinion could still be extremely respected and/or you could still have many "alpha" qualities.

On the other hand, the stereotypical definition is basically

Never heard off this but just googled it and the bit where the dude walks with the little girl in the supermarket is killing this shits to funny.
