Same here, my dude. I'm a freshman and I've only met 2 other EE majors so far. Is this a common thing? Or did I just pick a shitty school for my major?

Does that come with fries?

I'm doing math with a minor in finance. Want to go into hedge funds or investment management. Are you planning on going for CFA?

European here, just finished my Data Sciences masters

is it as shit as it is in other eu countries? I hear murricans make a shit ton of money out of it, but work 12 hour days with no breaks and get sued all the time.

MEanwhile in finland I do 8 hours a day with 20 lunch and 10 min coffee break, and obviously never have to go to court. I make 1/4 of what they make.

I got a degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in Poly Sci.
I'm thinking about joining I.C.E because I grew up in a sanctuary city and really h8 illegals..

But that's a big commitment and a career. I'm taking a couple more years to try and do something in fitness first.

Biomedical Engineering

Economics

If you want to do one of the "front office" roles (like IBD, sales/trading/M+A etc) literally start gearing yourself towards this as soon as you start university.

Join societies, sports teams, etc while at uni. In preparation for a grad job, apply for as many internships/work experience roles you can while at uni. Doesn't matter if it's a bulge bracket bank or a boutique, you need that experience in order to get a graduate level job.

If in the UK look into spring weeks at banks in London, if you get onto these, you have a better chance of getting asked back for a summer internship, and in turn, grad job.

>t. someone who tried but didn't quite get into a front office role at investment bank, but is now about to become an accountant instead

Bachelors in Music with a focus on Audio Engineering. It's fun working with great artists and pay for church gigs/random gigs as a guitarist isn't too shabby.

You think you're funny but you're probably just a leaf

Anthropology

I know financial terms are always thrown around infront of people
Ato keep them thinking they need financial advisors
and shit like that, but I'm still insecure about whether I'm smart enough.
How is it generally?

Nope, only was making $11/h as a research assistant for my PI.

The grant I had just barely covered the thesis.

Finishing up my degree in Math for 30000000k starting with a minor in chemistry

Psychology here
Surprised no one else replied with this yet

How? Explain please

There aren't many women in Veeky Forums

Nanotechnology, pic related

I'd say the roles I'm talking about are more on an institutional level, so you wouldn't really be dealing with the average man on the street, that would come under wealth management more than anything.

AFAIK, hedge funds at the moment aren't really in a great place, performance has been down for the last few years, but these things are cyclical.

Wouldn't worry about not being smart enough, there's plenty of retards working in finance

I never understood the appeal for studying psychology, do you want to just learn more about it or do you actually want to get a job related to the degree?

>spanish minor
Reported.

Biology, wanna go to med school eventually.

Why not both?
It's a great way to get into grad school with a base in neuroscience while studying something interesting, and even with a bachelor's, a lot of HR jobs and social work jobs (what I'm looking to go into- stuff like caring for elderly or disabled people) mainly hire Psych majors right out of school. Success in any field though is less about the degree itself and more about how you navigate your way into the workforce.
Having classes with a lot of girls is a nice perk.

Starting comp sci next week

I'm an exercise science major with a chemistry minor and a possible neuroscience minor (NS is brand new so we don't have a major for it). It's fun stuff; there are times where I wish I chose biochemistry or comp sci/neuroscience minor but oh well. I work in an endocrinology and metabolism lab at our medical school, but I'm hopefully transferring to the exercise oncology lab in the fall within our department.

B.A. in English Writing (lol)
Got a J.D. after, so now I'm a lawyer

biomedical sciences with a concetration in computational biology
learning japanese in my free time so i can move out of my shithole country

Exercise Oncology?

Like sweating out tumors?

How are you a neurosurgeon if you're only in med school?

>biology major
>falling for the pre-med biology major meme

shit nigga are you doing your masters in japan? If so how did you go there? I plan to apply for MEXT as a research student once I graduate and then move up to grad studies.

Egyptian

Yes.
Seriously though - it would be looking at how exercise can prevent the cancer from reappearing once it's gone. There's a story behind why the guy leading the whole thing started it. He's actually onto something. Like it makes sense that exercise can help, but you need the proof for it.

International Studies with a focus on global security and a Psychology minor

Mine is probably the most autistic, Game Development.

Luckily it's a Pixar sponsored program at a community college so it's cheap as fuck but has good equipment. Actually getting it for free cause the school automatically gives you a scholarship if you did decent in highschool. Mostly interested in the school gym.

I just want to be a personal trainer but I don't know what you study for that shit.

IIRC a lot of PTs major in Kinesiology- the study of human movement.

Forensic IT which is just a buzzword for IT security lolol

Second year now

Physics and math. Might get a minor in philosophy. I'm a dyem tho so

I'm thinking about getting my major in electrical engineering and my minor in math general. Is this a good idea?

Not at all

Computer Forensics/Criminal Justice

Work in information security with a cryptography focus now, so not too related but psyched anyways.

IR major here. Shit's on fire, yo.

Starting medicine next semester.

Finance major going into junior year here lads, on track to become a professor, really looking forward to the academic life, and professors in the business school are in such high demand in America (and anywhere else really) that they get paid quite a lot, though that's not why I'm doing it. I come from a line of 8 generations of schoolteachers so it was always my passion. I spent hours and hours in high school volunteering in my moms elementary classroom but my father pressured me into following his path and becoming a banker. I'm not about 100 hour work weeks so imma just teach instead. any other finance bros finding the corriculum way too easy? I thought I was doing shit wrong but I've gone two years with a 4.0 and I'm set to graduate a semester early. Like I literally just read the textbook and the test answers are all directly taken from the book. Surely grad school is harder right? Meh

International Relations Major and German/Economics minor.

I am studying in Frankfurt for my masters in International Economy then a PhD in berlin for IR.

Pretty much signed my life away go Washington but I wouldn't have it any other way.

2nd year med student
>tfw im the best looking and most fit among all the nerds in class
>tfw all grills mire and ask for sex

Physics and math fag here. I'm wanting to go into academia too, although it will be a bit different for me as I am stem. I tutored in hs so I guess part of that wanted to make me teach.

health science major, nutrition minor
