I do agree that I am idealising her to an extent, but I was briefly romantically involved with her only a few months before she decided to commit to her current boyfriend, and we were (and still are) close friends before that. My image of her is not completely fabricated.
I do agree with your last statement. I often get attracted to a girl after a few dates, but catch myself idealising a relationship and not the girl herself. I have been trying to work on myself and understanding how my feelings work lately. Hopefully I can find peace one day.
