Turned 35 recently. After nearly two decades of drinking, heavy smoking, not giving a fuck about what and how much I eat and barely ever excercising I look 27 at most (confirmed by pretty much every new person I meet) and stay naturally slim. I recently decided I could use some muscle so I started lifting, but I don't make it, I won't mind. Whenever I see other dudes my age (balding, sad fucks that look like they could be my father) I thank the genetic lottery.

35. Married with two kids. Fat wife who hates my gym hobby.

120kg x 3 bench, 147,5kg x 1 squat, 180kg x 1 diddy.

Going to start my second diet after I get my diddy to 200kg. Then it's a cruise to 10-12% body fat. Currently at around 20%.

Having a fat wife just makes things more interesting. I'm stronger than I've ever been and I feel great. My long time goal is to get her lose weight so that my kids will still have a loving mom when she hits 60 and doesn't die from beetus before that.

No more alcohol anymore though, the hangovers last for multiple days snd recovering is a bitch.

I run my own healthcare business in NYS. Got fit starting last November after a bad relationship and 3 bottles of whiskey a week was putting me on the road to ruin.
Lost 68lbs since Nov 1st 2016 and leaned out this past summer. 180lbs 9% bodyfat. Have a steady girlfriend after dating this past spring so i have no problems there. Drive a nice car and have a nice home but New York is pricey to live. Oh well, that's life.

38, and have spent 10+ years of "lift for 2 months, don't lift for 2 years" BS.
Finally starting to get a habit established (homegym masterrace) and although gains have been slow in coming, I'm better than I was a year ago.

Started working out and dieting about 5 months ago, lost about 50lbs. If I can keep up the pace I'll be in a healthy weight range in a few months, but I'm aiming for low bf% to get rid of the fat. I hope my loose skin isn't awful. I'm lifting to build muscle to mitigate it, but also to hopefully look decent eventually.

I'm doing it for my own health, but I'd love to get a date someday.

Don't squat, dead srs. It gives you incredible results, I can't deny that, but all the compression on your spine takes its toll after a while. There's a reason why pretty much every powerlifter blows out their back/hip after enough time. Unless you're a pro athlete and need as much leg strength as possible just use the hack squat machine or something, you 10 years in the future will thank you.

I used to love squatting too and got really good at it. Squatted 4 plate for 2 reps in my prime at 172 pounds body weight. Then the back problems kicked in ...

I can't say with absolute certainty that the same thing will happen to you, but I really don't think it's worth the risk unless you have a good reason to squat, like you're a competitive athlete as I said. I'd just do some bro bullshit instead like hack squats to make sure you don't have pencil legs and call it a day.

8/16 intermittent fasting is when you eat your meals in an 8 hour (or less) period and don't eat the rest of the 16 hours. At this point I've been eating my breakfast at 8am, lunch at 11am, and dinner at 2pm. The other 18 hours I don't eat. I sleep like a baby and the fat has been flying off.

30 here, started getting serious about lifting earlier this year. It was really rough going since my wife and I had our first (don't want to be an out of shape dad).

I'm getting ready to do my first cut, but kind of frustrated that my wife doesn't want to lose anymore weight since the baby. It's not a huge deal since she is only 5lbs heavier than before she got pregnant but I'd be lying if I didn't find her most attractive at the start of our marriage.

It takes discipline.
You have to commit to this cut. By commit, I mean I only work out like once a week because this cut is fucking hard. I do get hungry but when I see how far I've come, my size 36 pants literally falling off without a belt that has gone three notches tighter...its all worth it brah.

I recommend researching into HGH and IF, it's pretty interesting.
There is evidence that when fasted in the morning the body continues to produce HGH for several hours, which a breakfast would hinder.

I used steroids from age 25 to 28 and haven't touched them since. I was recently beginning to feel as if my testosterone was dropping. Less boners, bummed out, no motivation, etc.

Before going on the permanent lifetime Test cycle I ordered a shitload of creatine to see if it would help. Using 8 grams a day and I feel fucking amazing again. I know creatine increases DHT conversion so maybe that's it. It may not work for me forever, but I'm pretty happy at the moment.

Is your wife breast feeding? That burns a lot of calories and causes a lot of mad hormone swings. Also try to make date night a fit activity followed up with drinks and dessert instead of dinner. Rock climbing, hiking, yoga, and paddle sports are fun and fairly easy

Baby is 100% breastfed and we'll start incorporating solid foods here in a week or two. I'm open to suggestions of good things to start on. Most people have recommended Malt-O-Meal or some kind of grain paste but I'd rather go sweet potato or vegetable mash route.

As far as my wife is concerned she could easily lose the weight but she feels better being a little bigger. I think it's due to the fact we live in a very liberal, fat-positive town and she associates with a lot of them. In her mind being "skinny" looks bad because she's been inculcated into "fat is beautiful" culture for her entire life. I do want her to get into yoga or pilates, which I think would help regulate her mood a little better or give her a break from the baby.

You have to fight through that. Drink some water and some tea usually gives you a good reset. If you really feel like you won't make it through, try an apple or some tuna. But really, you can make it. Once you get used to it, you'll love the feeling.

Worked well except i hate lifting 5 days a week. Gradually stopped lifting, bp went back up. Fell into deep depression and anxiety. Accepted it was hereditary. Years later, I came across some whole food plant based vegan books. Read a few hundred studies. Started including super foods in my vegetarian diet- with no real results. One day, three months ago, I switched to whole food plant based- no sugar, salt, or oil. BP dropped to normal in about three weeks (30 points systolic). Depression and anxiety are gone. Feels bad that I waited so long to make a change.

Now at age 37, I've got around $400,000 in the stock market and I own crop land that I lease to farmers for a steady and nearly effortless income. I come from a lower class blue collar family, grew up in a trailer home, and yet I managed to get myself out of the rat race by the age of 30.

School will not teach you how to be a leader, it will teach you how to be a worker. Go to school but constantly educate yourself on a subject that will benefit you. Getting fit is one of those subjects but managing and making money is equally important. Spending money will give you things but having money will give you options and having options in life feels so much better.
