Hiatal hernia/reflux because of abs and int. fasting

So after 2 months of lifting and intense abs exercices I started to get reflux.
It could also come from my diet which consisted of 2 meals a day, the largest in the evening.

I went to the doctor and dentist after 2 weeks of spitting blood in the morning, sore throat and acid taste.

I feel better now that I eat regularly and avoid spices/tomatoes and shit, the blood stopped after deep teeth cleaning but I still get some symptoms after 20 days.

Did it happen to anyone here ? Can I still heal without a fucking surgery ?

Negative to helicobacter pylori and this morning the doc gave me anti acid to take for a month.

so basically its not a stomach ulcer? maybe its the diet and meal size and timing. if you have to do some conditioning along with your workouts and just eat normally

What if you eat fluid soap to counter excess HCl (stomach acid) production?

>the largest in the evening.
How late in the evening? Apparently if you lie down too soon after eating, your stomach contents can leek into your oesophagus, including acids that erode it over time.

Just found this page while looking for an image to show what I mean, barely skimmed the text but might be useful

I never spat out blood, but did have severe acid reflux for a while. Nexium didn't really do anything for me. Then I decided to do my own research since my doctor wasn't helping me. Believe me, it sucks when you can't sleep at night due to constantly choking up. Turns out the usual culprit of acid reflux is due to the pH of the stomach being too high (not enough acid). Yet the Nexium and all other PPI's stop your stomach from making acid.

The solution I came across required two things. The first is raw apple cider vinegar make sure that it's organic and with 'the mother'. You can take one to two tablespoons whenever you're having a flare up and also just before eating. The second supplement is hcl with betaine. You take this as soon as you finish your meal to help break it down. It's very important to take hcl right after the meal and not before. Once your stomach ph has reached the right level the esophageal sphincter will close and keep the acid in the stomach.

If you have reflux due to a hiatal hernia that would further complicate things. I know someone who's had the fundo and while it did help him, he still has to restrict himself from all kinds of foods.

Good luck user and I hope you get your life back like I did.

I had silent reflux which is basically acid reflux with no symptoms. It got so bad that my stomach acid damaged my vocal chords and I lost my voice for about 2-3 months. After 2 trips to my pcp and then a trip to an otolaryngologist, I was recommended omeprazole 20 mg daily along side no food 2-3 hours before bed and staying away from spicy foods etc.
The omeprazole helped enormously. My voice is almost back entirely. I plan on stopping the medication soon after my voice returns because of safety concerns around it though. Lastly, stop drinking soda. This also helped my recovery.

>I went to the doctor and dentist after 2 weeks
you forgot to tell us what the doctor said. ulcers are bacterial and you treat it and go back to your regular diet. otherwise it might be a food allergy or some kind of intolerance. did the doctor even say surgery is necessary? that seems pretty extreme but so is spitting up blood.

Yeah I think it's your diet.
Unless you were eating two times a day for months/years, your body will expect meals around times when you used to eat, thus producing excess stomach acid.

Also eating very large meals puts pressure on the LES, which can weaken it in the long run.

Just eat smaller meals throughout the day to give your stomach something to digest and also to keep the pressure in the stomach low.

Sorry to say, but the chances of your hernia being fixed without surgery are very small.
Even if you opt to go for surgery, chances are it will come back.
I believe you can get your reflux symptoms under control with dietary changes though.

I have no real pain, just mild discomfort, dry throat and the blood in saliva in the morning, which almost disapeared, but the dentist also injured my tongue when doing the cleaning to it bleeds a bit sometimes.

Yeah many people say it's low acid, I tried the vinegar but it hurts since my throat and oesophagus are irritated.

I'm going this way, I have the silent reflux symptoms and I guess I need to heal my body.

I already do everything, no alcohol, smoke, only drink water, small meals, stop eating early and will start the pantoprazole tomorrow.

How long have you been taking them ?

I'm just scared it'll hide symptoms for the time I take it and come back when I stop.

I did the bacteria test which is negative, so he gave me antiacids (IPP), the thing is I wonder if people actually heal with that or it just hides the fact that you got acid going in your throat but not cure it.

honestly this is the average sort of girl i wish i had been having one night stands with in college

nothing really noteworthy about her but it would be a good night of feeling like you're normal. i'd almost rather bang her than someone objectively prettier because at that point you're like "ok you're banging me but you're out of my league, what's your angle"

with this girl you're like "ok shes just horny like me, we're both average. cool"

anyway whats this thread about?

How do you know that ?
I mean I read hundreds of people saying they had it for years or all their life, but also people healing quick.
My doc said since I'm young I should heal just fine and that the surgery is not really done anymore, at least for light symptoms.

I'm asking here if people had this and cured, because of course when you look on other forums, people come to complain but never come back to say if they healed.

Do you know if the LES will be strong again ? I'm 28.

you need mooooooreeee acid in that case man

also try cutting out wheat/gluten

when I eat wheat I wake up with acid in my mouth

no wheat and I sleep like a baby

why this pasta

I doubt it will just heal naturally seeing as there is an enlarged hole in the diaphragm, meaning the hernia would first have to slide back, and then the hole would have to shrink.
Even if the hernia would slide back down naturally, the hole would still be there, meaning there is a fair chance the hernia would slide back up before the hole shrinks.
I think the possibility of the hernia sliding back down and the hole healing are mainly dependent on how long you have it and the size of the hernia.

Best chances of it healing are when you eat small meals throughout the day, don't drink too much and remember to maintain correct posture, all to ensure that the pressure on the stomach is minimal. Also eat a lot of fiber to avoid constipation, don't lift too heavy and try to lose stomach fat if you have any.

As long as you have a hiatal hernia, your LES might never be able to go back to full strength. However, you can always try to strengthen it by doing the above and avoiding pressure on it. You should also avoid foods like alcohol, caffeine, mint and fatty foods.

Best of luck to you user.

Hey OP, I have a slight somache hernia which means that I have always had some trouble with acid reflux. However, I found that when I started an itnermittent fasting protocol the reflux got way way worse. I looked around and found some studies on pubmed hat suggested fasting can contribute to stomach problems. Cba to look it up for you, study was mostly conducted on people doing ramadan fasting.

in reality no one cares, only white bois get insecure over interracial b/c of BBC

no black guy gives a fuck lmao

DELET

dang, that was fast. I liked her, one of the few nigs in porn than didn't look like a ghetto ho or was fat.

hmm

I've got a hiatus hernia too but wasn't told to avoid lifting.
I've tried a few different diets to keep it under control but I'm yet to find a definitive solution.
Baking soda mixed in water will be your best friend though when you have serious heartburn days. Anti-acids are basically less effective, and more expensive, bottles of baking soda.

To borrow a word from niggerbonics:
