Lying down is the most effective and also most natrual way of decompression.

Straining your back is straining your back.

loose, it will also stretch out the shoulders, which is actually good for the shoulders considering how much pressing yall do. Now if you get issues doing it loose just stay loose for an amount of time and when it starts to bother you get tight scaps. Just try hanging on a bar. You don't need a source or study. You can FEEL it, it feels good. Your spine decompresses, all the shoulder ligaments get a nice stretch. Common sense isn't so common anymore.

yeah no its not something I made up, its common knowledge now. Physicians for decades used to recommend lying down to treat any form of disc issue. Recently more and more are seeing that decompression through a form of hanging or some form of active decompression eliviates the tension on the discs and stretches out the spine. Disc issues are all caused by disc compression, if you think logically you would understand that decompression would remove these issues.
