I don't know what to do with my life. I'm 24 and a barista at Starbucks with a college degree.

Is the military worth it? I don't wanna shoot anyone. What about like coast guard? Can I get some cushy desk job if I join the Air Force or something with just a degree?

Apply to be an officer in the air force or navy and get more money and respect for nothing. But truthfully if the military is something you never considered or wanted to do before being at your low point then it's not for you.

You can get a desk job in any branch of the military

Depending on what job you choose, you can use that experience to start a career afterwords or stay in for 20 years and get paid for the rest of your life

I'm a computer science major and I hate my degree and don't want to work in the field.

Are there like "general" jobs I can get and be an officer for? Or will they force me to go into what my degree is in?

I don't care about ra ra patriotism bullshit I literally just want to not be in my late 20's still working here with 18 year olds. Military seems like a good exit option. Plus seeing some new locations would be cool.

join the CG

stay the fuck away from the marines and the army

You sound like a shitbag and I feel like you will bring down the quality of the military in general if you join.

That being said, you can choose your own job as long as you don't go muhrines

If you try to become an officer most likely they're going to want you to do something relating to your degree. Really though you shouldn't try to use the military as an escape.

USAF ammo. Sucks because of the bureaucracy but I'm not getting shot at which is a plus.

Also on that cardio waiver because i told the doc cardio kills gains

What is wrong with joining the military just for a job?

Because you're going to bring down the unit and you won't have any motivation so you will be a bad leader

Because it's not just a job. You have to live a certain lifestyle and if you're someone who values doing what you want and being by yourself you can kiss that goodbye. Some people love it but personally I'd hate it.

what he said but the people you are in charge of are some really dumb motherfuckers, like, we had room inspections (I'm in a Scout unit as enlisted) and we actually got motherfuckers that will go into rooms and see that you got books and be like OH LOOK THIS GUY ACTUALLY LIKES TO READ LOL, and you read this and think oh it's just someone being visetious.

But they're not. This is the literal intelligence level of people in the facetious.

You will either lead a group of lazy unmotivated low-IQ motherfuckers or a bunch of obnoxious, very dull, low-IQ motherfuckers.

pogue ass motherfucker

I plan to get Silver next year and maintain that. Apparently achieving a Silver/Gold will get you more points toward your promotion in the CAF starting pretty soon.

Bring down the quality of the military. As another modern Navy ship hits a merchant vessel.

took a pst today. Navy spec ops.
500 m swim 8:52
push 63
sit ups 75
pull ups 13
1.5 mile run 11:12

Chief said I need to get like a minute faster and more push ups depending on how my run goes. I threw up on the third lap cause i took a huge swig if gatorade rught before the run haha.

Is this where I can role play being in the military?

this desu
CG>AF>Navy>Army>Marines

I'm not in navy spec ops, I'm in the navy trying to join spec ops by the way

Dood go coast guard. That would be the good life. When every other branch finds out truly what it's like to be CG we all wish we would have done that shit.

>200 pushups a day
>5km run every second day
>100 crunches a day
>30 pull-ups a day
Do this for a year while youre a teenager. I did, and I was good enough for SAS, but I had mild asthma so I pretty much wasted a year of my life.

Hey man navy here, was a SAR swimmer previously before changing rates.
Boutta hit buds prep soon.
Get your run time down ideally high 8s - low 9's
Pull ups near to 20
Push near 100
Sit ups near 100
Swim is solid low 8's ideal

They say as long as you can pass a PST you can make it through selection.
Search and rescue swimming isn't too hard

I got dat Jeff Nichols buds workout plan bitches. Personally preparing for RASP here. Grindin out them miles and chest to deck motherfuckers.

Goodluck man, every selection has its specific attrition rate from a specific condition.
I hear in RASP it's hunger with one MRE a day and limited sleep. Physically shouldn't be too crazy. None the less hard

Hello recruiter? Yes, I would like to enlist with a marsoc contract.

I olympic lift and squat 5 days a week when I'm not deployed. Been NSW support for years. Feelsgoodman.jpg

Active Navy

300/300, the Navy PT test is fairly easy.

I want to join the coast guard so fucking bad but I'm terrified of the boot camp. I haven't been in school in years and I've never been through anything close to that.

But the shit they do looks fucking amazing.

I see guys at me pool with the marsoc pin. That pin is clean af if you've ever seen it. Only reason I'd do it, otherwise marines is all ass

They didn't care about my degree as long as I had one.

What was your training/OCS experience like?
Is it anything like enlisted bootcamp? Are the CO's assholes? Is there still that "break then rebuild" mentality? I don't think I could handle that shit.

How come marines are the only ones who get to wear fucking skulls? It's not fair.
Your swim times are very impressive btw. Mirin.

I went ROTC in college, shit was easy
First two years are like a BMT cake walk.

Then I went to Field Training that was like ROTC bootcamp, still easy as hell as long as you don't screw up. One officer was strict but actually had a purpose and the other was just a dick to be a dick. They go through bare minimum for being a trainer. My friend had one officer he only saw at the beginning and the end. So its a lotto on how they act. Then two more years of paperwork and then officer.

OTS is different. Got a friend going through it right now, but its not really the break down and rebuild from what people tell me. They expect you to act like an adult since you already have a degree.
Also the military seems to be hurting for officers so its a good time to try.

A good officer does a lot more than you ungrateful enlisted fucks ever see. Its easy to bitch about us getting more pay but since moving from enlisted to a troop commander there is such a hideous amount of work to get everything running smoothly and stopping your guys from getting shat on by battalion or higher.

Plus all this dumb cunts keep getting arrested and marrying strippers.

Dont be an officer unless you want to be a good officer. And if you want to be a good officer you will be busy constantly. The pay and "respect" isnt enough, you gotta want the position and responsibility.

I agree :(
Thanks man, my buddy who came out of phase and was a collegiate swimmer was swimming 6-7 minute swims with combat side. Also not to mention his run and calisthenics. Always mirin at the pure monsters out there.

Could I go straight into special forces? Stats:
Ht: 5'9. Wt: 160
5k: 17:53
Mile: 4:48
Squat: 375
Bench: 315
Dead: 415

Also scored 91 percentile on MCAT but I've decided fuck medical school

How do you stay fit in regular life faggot? You lift and/or run.

Marine Corps

300/300 because the standards are complete shit.

Anybody wondering what they should join, the order goes
>Coast Guard
>Marines
>Air Force
>Army
>Navy
If you disagree then you're a fucking idiot.
Ask questions about anything.

Which one were you thinking?

Special Forces or special forces?Pretty damn good stats. Lifting isn't as important as endurance, but your mile is very impressive. You should focus a lot more on running and endurance regardless.

>Pogue
>Not POG
You're a fucking idiot. Literally tried to copy some terminology you heard from some boot faggot and failed.

Honestly don't know much about SF but Rangers or Seals sound cool

You mentioned MCAT. If you're man enough, do some research about the SARC pipeline. Absolutely brutal. They get embedded within SEALS, Raiders, and Force recon.

>Spec Ops
>1.5m in 11min
>13 pull ups
>Not running while puking
You're literal garbage or lying.
I got my ass kicked by MARSOC A&S while running a 19min 3mile and doing 29+pull ups.

Officially convinced this thread is even more full of larping faggots than the other threads.

why am i such a bitch? i dont think i have the strength to make it through any of these. but i want to serve the country and i want to see the world.

oh well.

We'll from my knowledge and what I've heard from buddies who went through others.

Buds is lots of running in sand and boots, swims, calisthenics and hypothermia. Land portage sucks dick, which is running with boats on your head. That's hit fucks you up.
Every week you have a 4 mile timed run on the beach, and a 2 mile timed swim.
You need to get a lower time throughout phases. Buds is 6 months then SQT for 6 months then other training SERE, etc. Lots of endurance is important, and guys who look like sticks have made it through.

Q-course for green beret, I hear is a lot of running, idk what there attrition is sadly but you can look it up.

RASP is lots of running and drills with one MRE a day and little sleep throughout. I'm not saying it's easier then the other two. But more people make it through.

>29+pull ups.

thats because your a manlet twink and the military hates those

How was Indoc? You go through Camp Pendleton still right?

>Army nasty girl
>stay fit by going to the gym 3-4 times a week, used to do 2+ miles 2-3 times a week but have been lazy for last month
>pt score at 251

I can knock out pushups and situps no problem, I'm just a slow fuck on the run. Plus I just turned 22 a couple months ago right before my pt test, so I couldn't max out pushups with my score. Really wanna get into running more but it's just so boring for me.

He's not spec ops he's a wannabe.
Any details you want to share about Phase 1?

SARC is embedded with marine, SEALS all go through 18Delta short course(special ops medical training). And then have a SO who goes through the whole thing to be the main medical.

>cant max out 15 knee pushup

oh your poor thing. women dont belong in the military.

get out before the race war starts and you end up getting people killed

Sounds like you're trying to throw a bunch of overused cliches out. In 6 years of being in platoon/company commandwe position I've not had a single marine marry a stripper in Jacksonville or Okinawa. Sure, arrests and tickets happen but who really gives a fuck unless its borderline felony.
>"You're debil dawg got in a barfight with another debil dawg, neither want to press charges because they literally don't care but stayed in a cell overnight"
Bitch so? Why you wanna NJP him for? Fuck that, negative counseling, no double jeopardy, get fuckt BC.

>people you are in charge of are some really dumb motherfuckers
>visetious

Some SARC's do get embedded within units outside of the marines.

>SEALS all go through 18Delta short course
100% not true.

Marine Corps veteran here. This is accurate

>how do you stay Veeky Forums in the military?
Army's PRT program has always worked for me, I was a heavy guy going in and I still weigh anywhere from 190-200 depending on water weight and bloat, so calisthenics is enough for me to maintain mass and get stronger.

Nah dude, out at stone bay in jville.

Manlet yes, twink no. Decent lifts especially for my weight. 5'7" at 170.

Not really any secrets in A&S? Just a bunch of PT and some easy coursework. Make yourself likeable because you can be a fucking stud and not get selected if you're a huge faggot. Supposedly how well you work with the group is more important than anything else besides not getting dropped.

Besides the Marines, is CG really the hardest training out of any of the branches? I've heard this from a lot of people.

oh i actually didnt know that

wouldnt have thought that someone would act like the national guard was military

>picking out spelling and ignoring the whole point of it

go crash into a fishing boat

I've been in the Marines for 9 years and when I read nasty girl I thought you were calling yourself a barracks slut. Nobody knows NG terminology because the NG shouldnt even be considered the military.

Really? I thought they all do now, where did you hear this from, some guys that got dropped out of phase recently told me, idk if it's a reliable source maybe they got that mixed up.

Mustang here. None of the training is hard. Been through boot camp and tbs. Only complete pussys can't finish the training.

In order of which you should join and also the size of their pussy.

Is it stolen valor if I wear UDT shorts and wiggle my ass while soft sand running?

>be navy
>all my enlisted friends have bas in physics and computer engineering and were working in their field before joining
>autistic 21 year old (younger than us) fuckboi officer with a ba in business or some shit walks into the room to be our "leader"
>mfw

i dont normally say this but there needs to be some change in the military. everyone still acts like its the 1910's and only the rich elite get educated or something

Ive never heard thats true. I do think they get a medical course of some kind but the short course for 18D is pretty damn long. So theres no way every seal goes through it.

Been thinking of join the AF, but I've done acid before. What do?

I wouldn't be surprised if they do. Don't know much about seal training but marsoc training lasts a couple years and medical portion is pretty in depth. Much more so than "Mr. Mr. Can you hear me? You call a corpsman, you call 911."

Say you didn't do acid? You'll need a calculator and a bible.

Thats because you're autistic CS scum

Associate's isn't a real degree user

are you acting like there's any way for them to check if you've ever done acid in your life?

where my EASd Marines who joined CG?

Why would you enlist with a college degree if you're doing anything other than SO?

cs personal run reaction force too though in the navy which is basically the closest thing the navy has to grunts

BAs (as i said in the post) from 4 year brick and mortar schools

i dont know and at the moment i didnt have a degree but i got out and did 4 years on the gi bill

actually now that i think about it i feel like it often has to do with arrests or some sort of bad record that makes them feel like they wont be accepted to officer. also some of my friends did become mustangs later

Marine Raider
300 PFT/CFT
We have the budget for personal gyms and trainers. Can't afford to not be fit

Which bn?

Are you guys in syria currently? GIVE ME A STRAIGHT ANSWER.

Wait as in CS like culinary specialist? Also I don't know about grunts in the navy, closest you can get is FMF corpsman.....

Uh huh, I'm sure.

I'm going to graduate with a 3.8 in mechanical engineering from flagship state college and I'm proficient in Arabic (I'm not muslim, I learned it on my own time). Great physical scores. Never done anything involving ROTC or the military.

I kinda wanted to do something like Green Berets, but I saw that you have to be enlisted for 3 years before you can even apply and I don't want to live the grunt life. I know there's a shitload of different recruitment paths for the military though, so I figured I'd ask you folks. Recommended course of action?

No, you can enlist 18x. No need to wait 3 years.
Do you want to kill motherfuckers?

Just do backpacking and become a digital nomad. Better than signing your life off to someone else and having them control it.

no i thought you meant computer systems

the boarding teams and all the people who man the guns and shit tend to be majority tech ratings because of how the weird ship schedule and duty cycle is set up

ok

show me your pin?

I don't need to be in the military for 3 years before joining green berets?

>Do you want to kill motherfuckers?
Yes, but not if this is a suicide position. Is it?

What do the marine raiders do differently from other SOF? The description on the marines website makes them sound like Army SF.

Yes but VBSS are super easy to get on. I know dudes who are Dumb and physically unfit and wouldn't ever last in any grunt position
Previous ship had a bunch of them.
Reactionary forces may be from expeditionary units or people attached to devgru. But more likely it's spec war for navy

>Working out daily no matter what, I dont PT with the platoon much anymore because I have Sgts for that. But a pull up bar at the door and 10 pull ups for each time I pass out or in keeps me going.

This asshat isn't lying, MARSOC gets trainers and all that good shit along with fuckyou money for funding. And yet I cant even convince any unit on camp Pendelton to let me borrow their HITT box (which they weren't using) for a shitty month long field op.But they'll sure as fuck 'call a favor' and send a gut truck out there.

No green berets are not suicide position those are you 0311 marines and armt 11bravos.
You'll do a lot of training of indegenious forces and operations too.
Green berets are awesome, got one over here training DEA agents cool dude with some nice stories from ops around the world not just the sandbox

Just google 18x. You probably wont die. Probably. Read get selected for special forces, it seems like you have toyed around with the idea.

dont really disagree with you but every ship in the fleet doesnt roll around with devgru you silly bitch so 99% of "reactionary forces" in the navy of buff dumb boatswains mates and roided out IT guys who hate doing their IT job and so got on vbss or something

maybe all subs get some seals on them
