Any fellow engineers up tonight?

I do moving on the side
Lifting got me hired

philosophy professor

yes It has helped me cum inside a few of the students

IT guy,

Makes the fatties in the office jelly which feels real good.

How do you deal with your students?
I've taken a few PHIL classes before
Profs were always cool
About 75% of the students were total cunts

Paramedic/ Med student.

Yeah it's proven that patient trust physicians who appear in better shape,

Chemical engineering

Is it worth pursuing this as a job? AKA how easy was it to get in?

Struggling to get a job I was hoping for, but I have a pretty extensive background in philosophy and got accepted to an ivy league phil program. Could just teach...

I know this is bait but damn do i wish i could do it

Physician, heal thyself

Developing software with various languages. Lifting after work keeps me pretty sane desu. Not many chicks around the office and it's nice to see some of dat ass 3x a week

Currently fixing trucks and shit. Hate it.

Trying to become a cop, but government jobs are red tape massacres to get into.

Diesel mechanic, definitely

I want to know if there are any jobs that get you fit by working you hard.

Industrial here hoss...but I started getting into IoT cloud all that jazz you probably know much more about. Stopped being fit, need to get back into it.

Some factory jobs, construction, pretty might manual labor jobs are what you're looking for

Automotive tech. I'm definitely not as worn out at the end of the day as the other guys. 105 degrees in the shop all day can be tiring

what industry? the petroleum industry in canada is dying and im scared as fuck of graduating.

>You have a degree, even if your own industry goes away you still have a chance of making it

Don't wait for your job to come to you

Start looking and you can change with the field...

instrumentation technician

has made it harder to fit into tight spaces and go a few hours without eating but I have moved a trailer without having to hook it up to the car a few days ago so the last 4 years of lifting finally paid off

Software ""engineer""

No I sit around all day and get fatty food for lunch every day

help desk

Farmer
Almonds
old trees so i guess im a lumberjack too lots of tree and log slpitting

I'm an oilfield pumper. Only thing it helps with is making me feel better than my fat coworkers.

Electrician
I thought working in construction would make me more fit (not why I chose that career path), but all it does is wear me out and triple my fast food intake.

> not packing a tupperware lunch to prove you are better than everyone else

I misread the question. Does being fit help me with my job? Absolutely. There are some skinny and fat workers, but almost every worker I see is within a reasonable margin of fitness. It would be hard to get by without decent cardiovascular health.

Network engineer who hates his job

>tfw Chef

In the kitchen since 16, now 22, knees already gone to snap city.

Pray for me, kitchen is hell

At least you're not a dishwasher
My boss used to tell me that he started as a dishwasher when I was a dishcuck
That was 30 years ago
Never happens now

Infosec engineer if that counts

I get free lunch, no way Im wasting that job perk

Resorting to cliched namecalling has no effect on the contemporary NEET. We are economic auto-didacts, self-taught philosophers and gifted visionaries. While others waste their life labouring under the orders of those who see only material cost in life, we pursue leisure above all else, knowing as we do that leisure and time to oneself is the basis of genius. Despite many people disliking the culture and society they help maintain through their work, and despite understanding now that we have only a single life on earth and that any meaning we attribute to it as the result of self-willed or socially-inculcated ideologies. they continue to wake early and trudge to their jobs for one single reason: Guilt. Throughout time religions have taken advantage of Man's guilt. a guilt experienced for no logical reason except that he unlike other animals is a self-aware being whose abstract thoughts conflict with the apparently practical, rational reality he finds himself a part of. We post-guilt NEETs will not bow to internal or external pressures encouraging us to sacrifice our contentment and sensitive dispositions for the sake of attaining money, or womenfolk. We alone stand proudly, detached from but keenly observant of the slave masses who yell at us for not being as unhappy as they are. We alone, we band of true men. defend our right to live a dignified life against those wishing to deprive of us of it. Yes you can mock. you can criticize. you can echo the demands your masters make upon you. But who is likely to regret their lives more? The noble and dignified NEETs who spend their truly precious time reading, pondering, philosophizing and engaging in critical, urgent debate online? Or the miserable, resentful masses. their eyes bloated and sagged by excess folds of skin. their hair falling out and their gums bleeding from stress. This is reality. This is 2015. We are the future.

Geo-technjcal engineer.
No not really

Amazon carrier for USPS.

FUNCTIONAL STRENGTH helps when you've got someone who has a gate to their house and also has one of those Prime pantry boxes that weigh what feels like upwards of 60 pounds. I row 205 at 5 months in thanks to it.

So you the nigger responsible for fracking

I work in a kitchen, it's pretty much cardio all day with light lifting. Great way if you want to lose weight, I don't know about muscle tho

>Cardio
>in a kitchen
How?
I've worked kitchens before

You constantly moving all the time user. Don't know what kind of kitchen you worked at before but large size kitchen basically a huge playground for cardio. Plus free proteins from leftover if you not picky with that shit.

What user said, your also sweating a lot and bending over and crouching and shit. When I did two a days at the gym and work in the kitchen it was like triple the gainz

Well yeah, in a 10m^2 kitchen I'm walking around a lot.
But that ain't cardio. Nothing is more than 10 steps away.
The only cardio comes from stress and I don't think that counts

I can't find a job because of lack of experience. I have a bachelors in accounting.

Losing hope slowly. Starting to apply for warehouse jobs.

Apply to the jobs that require more experience than you have
Some of them only say bullshit but will accept candiates anyways

as posted here.

Composer/sound designer.

not really but being fit (or in my case just getting fit, I'm still working my way there, I do cycling 4x a week and I'm about 8 kg off goal weight rn, I've been unfit basically my whole life and having a modicum of cardio and athleticism is truly an amazing feeling).

What being fitter does do is make me happier in general and adds extra structure to my life which improves output, the #1 thing I'm always telling people about is getting a proper sleep schedule going, so many people believe they have all these sleep problems when the reality is the bastards won't go to bed, if you set exact times to go to bed and wake up then stick to it all of your sleeping problems will disappear.

If you're in this thread.

Fell into it, applied for a spot at a studio, showed them my stuff, I got it. I think I was meant to be only an interim temp while they found someone with more experience but then they realized I was good, still very much at the start of my career.

The #1 thing is of course making sure your music was top notch, set yourself the standard of commercial soundtrack music and do not allow yourself to ever write music underneath that standard. You get out what you put in, I wasn't treating it like a job and so I wasn't getting a job, when I went at it with 100% focus and effort that's when I got a job, they don't come to you, you have to make them happen.

The other thing that helped me was knowing FMOD or WWISE which is game middleware.

I'm still working on the self promoting and business side of being a composer so I can't help you too much there.

kitchens are a terrible way to lose weight. I work in a kitchen too, I get a free meal everyday. When I started, I gained 20 pounds and I wasn't weightlifting at the time because of a back injury. I managed to lose it by having a side of fries instead of a full meal.

Insurance shill
12-9 M-F in an office with a good gym in the basement. Decent enough salary too

What hoodie is he wearing and where can I get one?

I teach history at a community college

some of my students mire me from time to time but other than that no

Software engineer here. I have big fish little pond syndrome - lots of women in tech lately who are hot but no business working in tech. Compared to pajeets and bill gates looking types, I'm a god amongst men.

Sandwich technician. It helps me pick up boxes and sleep with coworkers I guess.

>night shift dispatcher
>only places open for food are fast food based
>people drop off donuts all night
>they're all old donuts
>can't leave seats
>have a union contracted paid lunch break and two 15minute breaks every 8hour shift
>never get to use them because we'd fuck over our coworkers with all the extra work
>constantly stressed out and we all want to eat sugar to drink liquor to make it stop
>I'm the only one that's not obese on nightshift
>I'm one of four that are not obese out of the 23 dispatchers our city has

It's going to get me one day. I'm gonna get as fat as the cops on day shift.

Civil/structural

What's up bro

Passed my FE and got a great job. How far along are you?

callipygian engineer

I'm very high up...

Getting bored though, more money than I need and no hobbies or interests other than working on hardcore designs...

>all these engineers that gave jobs related to their degrees
REEEEEEEEEEE ENGINEER CHAD'S OUT

I THOUGHT THIS PLACE WAS FOR LOSERS LIKE ME FUCK YOU AAAAAAAA

Test Lead at a pension company.

Not at all, but I feel good and work is cool so I get in an hour early, take an extended break to fit in the gym. It means my workouts fit seamlessly into my day and don't impact my social life.

Kek, i'm and the testing team has the lowest average age in the company and is full of long distance runners and gym goers. They banned us from all going into the same team at the company sports day because everyone else would get battered.

>inb4 lel english teacher meme
I enjoy my job, great pay, great location, great hours, and I am free to enjoy my independence in the bright lights of Seoul while saving money to prepare for the inevitable departure.

But you're going to die from massed nork artillery fire and possibly a nuke or two within the next few months.

nah you got fired, remember?

I'm no joke a NEET with autism bucks, kind of shitty to be honest.

Wedsite Development student
Power nerds and a surprising amount of women who somehow are still in the course despite seemingly fucking around the entire time.
Lifting benefits me 0 in this as I have a girlfriend and there's no one in the class I'd go for anyway. Doesn't hurt being the most attractive though, great confidence in feeling like I'll be able to get a job after I've finished due to that + being 1 of a handful who aren't socially retarded.

>mfw normies still don't realise this is literally the only threat the norks pose
>mfw when I explain it to them they're so fucked by the prospect of nukes that they don't think conventional artillery is a threat

Fucking tens of thousands of deaths in the first few hours of conflict purely from the completely unstoppable artillery attack on SK. The only way to avoid it would be to nuke the fuck out of NKs artillery.

Med student, hopefully will graduate next year

Gonna go for trauma, that dept was 100% bro tier big guys no homo

The old man who was mentoring me caught me merlin in the lockers lel
Fucker had forearms like my fucking legs

Studying to be a Youth Mentor and about to start my Cert. 4 in PT to supplement the workload and hopefully create programs to support the clients.

I'm only on placement right now but the older ladies like taking me out to see clients so I guess it helps rather than me just sitting in the office doing admin shit. I'd assume being fit will help with the PT shit, most PT's I see don't look like anything special so hopefully I'll have the edge over everyone else If I look aesthetic

High school teacher
Get far too many girls mirin' my ass in the hallway

CNC monkey.
I'm lifting blocks of steel and bigass drills all day.
I've unmemed myself after doing SS and I'm almost symmetrical now.

Architect

Everyone takes me seriously

>a surprising amount of women who somehow are still in the course despite seemingly fucking around the entire time.

hi, person employed in the tech field, they will have a job.

They won't have learned to program by then either.

I work at costco, no it doesn't help me get Veeky Forums but it does make me want to kill myself daily.

I make shitty GPS maps. I guess it's technically automotive and some 3D visualization work.
Also no, I get made fun of every fucking day for eating healthier shit than the absolute garbage 90% of the devs and software guys eat. Stopped eating in the break room for good since it never fucking ends. Going to the gym is the only thing really keeping me sane, but at least I like my work.
At least I look better than most of the other equally miserable fucks in the office.

Bobby.

And yes, good to have a high level of fitness for chasing burglars or bundling with drunk meatheads Friday/Saturday night

>tfw youngest and fittest of the team so always picked for the 'fighty logs'

Getting /fit just gives me something to do
my boss she is miring me its kinda how I recently just got a promotion that starts next year (move up to 120k) so thanks fit for the promotion

How bad is it to work in an office setting? I'm majoring in accounting, but idk I might switch to HR or something.

I've been offered small part time jobs for accounting, HR, and other small clerical jobs in my city. Since I've actually never really worked in a professional office setting, so I'm wondering if I'll be losing all my gains and end up like pic related.

Do you guys actually enjoy what you do or are you just doing it to make your parents happy/get by in life?

Land surveyor
I don't have to lift heavy stuff but having a good level of fitness definitely helps.

Network engineer / release manager, thanks to Cisco scam certifications. I have the lowest level of scholar degree in my country but I climbed up.

BTW, lifting help me a lot. I'm a scam but I'm a charming guy, always joking, in a good mood, and working hard when it's needed. Getting buff tends to impress twinks I work with so it's getting me respect.
People don't even dare to blame me when I'm doing nothing.

I don't enjoy it but I enjoy the pay, the progress, people I'm working with.

Soon it'll be time to fly by myself, be my own boss.

Your gains, your time and soul.

If you don't get in touch with young people through parties, trips, etc. You'll die inside.

as long as there's one or two guys employed too, I'll be one of them.. everyone else is either good + socially inept or sociable but incapable of coding.

One of the most openly british posts I have seen in some time. Splendid.

>T-thanks for reminding me

I build insulated glass units. It's boring as fuck. Being able to lift heavy shit is helpful though because these Tucker's can get heavy

I work here to make gains, social gains, and get paid.

Its alright on paper, whole body gets sore after an 8-12 hour day. But the main problem is its on call.

I work in an office that gives out free lunch on Fridays. No in fact it has been the most stress filled job I ever had in terms of my healthy lifestyle.

A lab tech atm, ehh it doesnt really help nor hinder my fitness really.

Thinking about becoming an IT consultant though and was wondering if any Veeky Forums brehs can offer advice on that line of work? I'm in the final stages of an application for a grad program with a job with the company afterwards

I work in retail.

It helps me being checked out by women way past their best before date.

Software development

People like you more if you're fit

I have a CompTIA+ certification that pays the bills and in the afternoon head out to college and lift weights at the gym there. It pays $15 per hour. Mon-Fri. Pays the bills and for bus. Can't drive cause got arrested at 15 for driving. Quit high school, got my ged at a community college. Got certification, found a job. Been working there for 2 years now.

Shitty warehouse job 37 an hour taking home about 1250 a week after tax. People there are funny and amazing to work with but the job is meh. Depressing when I see all these people saying engineer ect in this thread. I'm only twenty but still don't know what to study or if I want to study at all nothing really jumps out at me. Overall 60k clear a year but gross is like 75k which is decent for non uni right? Money's not making me happy but please someone reassure me

Two men and a truck guy here

I'm 26 and screwed myself out of college, might take up oil industry, diesel mechanic or merchant marine. Just to make enough bank to get a house paid off in about two or three years.

I will say though about the money and happiness thing, some of the wealthier people I've moved are pretty happy people, tip beyond 20$.

Some richer folk however you can tell are financially struggling due to their moods though.

I'm an operations supervisor with a large freight company. It's pretty much 50% office 50% warehouse, and I always help my guys processing our Walmart shipments.
> 53 foot trailer
> Packed with furniture, TV's, gun safes, treadmills, weight sets etc
> Get to help lift all of it
It's pretty good. The hours make regular gym sessions a pain though.

why would anyone want to be a cop?
