CUT GENERAL

This is a cutting general thread.

If you are in the process of a cut, or thinking about cutting, this is the thread for you.

Here is a quick post that was in another cutting thread yesterday:

You're fat. You need to get your eating under control by whatever it takes that works for you

>IF
>one meal a day
>two meals a day
>keto
>myfitnesspal

Obviously, things like swearing off sweets, snacks, and sodas work, and you need to stop eating junk.
Also don't run out and buy protein powder. You won't need it until you're lean, in the meantime learn to eat clean and less.

I am halfway through my cut. Started at 225 and and down to 194. My goal is 175. Intermittent fasting is working for me and I should be at my goal by mid-winter.

This thread is specifically for dietary discussion to either start or continue a cut. You can do this, we are here for you!

Recovering fatty with a question about cutting, I'm worried I'm going to be cutting to fast.

>22 year old male
>6'2
>260
>30% (I know, impossible, you will just have to take my word for it)
>was eating 3200 a day with slight weight loss when I was working
(Farm hand, extremely physical work 12 hours a day 6 days a week, dropping about a pound a week)
>got accepted to college
>no longer working as hard
>dining courts a good mile and a half away
>eating one or two meals a day at about 850 a meal depending on my schedule

I don't get have any apatite after a walk, and I'm basically forcing myself to eat to the point of sickness as it is. I don't have a scale but I'm a week in and my clothes are already getting significantly looser and I have no energy at all. Should I be forcing myself to eat more or is this just a normal response to such a massive change to my activity/dietary routine and I will come around in a few days? I don't feel hungry, but like I said I have no energy at all and a few days ago I started getting the shakes whenever I am sitting still.

I really don't have a clue when it comes to nutrition, but something feels wrong.

aw yeah time to jump on thr cutting train again, might do an ec stack again as well, we'll see. bulked up to 192 from 170 at 6', time to get them stomach veins back

Energy levels will ebb and flow while cutting. It sucks but your body is not only working with a lower amount of caloric energy, it is also working to burn fat. You also might be stressed about college.

Just take your time. Don't ever force yourself to eat - if you are not hungry then there isn't a good reason to force food consumption.

Getting back to keto after a week of going back to carbs. I just feel bloated as fuck (even eating "clean" carbs) and my migraines are back with a vengeance.

Any tips to get back into ketosis/make a faster adaptation? I guess being two months on keto will make fat adaptation a lot quicker this time around, right? I'm going to do a 5km in a bit with a high heart rate to try to speed it up.

Also, how do people get so much sodium in keto? I heard of someone doing like >10g (besides salting food) but I can't stomach even 3g in a short period (I get about 6g over the day diluted in water). Asking since it helps me feel better overall.

ive been cutting at 1800-2000 cals per day for a couple months now and im pretty happy.

>learning whats actually in my food
>seeing my inguinal crease and arm veins
>can do pullups more easily

im gonna keep going until the holidays, maintain until january, and see where we are after that. next year is gonna be the summer of george at this rate

10 more lbs lads

i'm doing hard cuts during the weekdays (1,300) and lesser on the weekends (1,700)

Down to 190 from 215

we're gonna make it

I'm 198 Ibs and close to 6'1. Was 260 last year.

Currently my lifts are pretty shit

2plate squat
200 Ib deadlift (terrible, I know, but it's improving fast)
110 OHP
130 Barbell Row
175 Bench

I'm currently doing a 3 day full body routine and I want to cut to 160-170 before I switch to a 6 day PPL and eat at a surplus. I'm currently doing IF and trying to eat clean. I'm wondering if I can get to my desired weight in 3-4 months? Lowest I've been is 180, but I gained some weight at the end of spring because I was binge eating during finals.

Question for those who fast, how do you deal with the headaches and lack of focus?

I work as an accountant, and while fasting for any period of time, it's impossible to focus on my work, and I get awful headaches.

It's definitely not lack of water, as I'm drinking tons a day.

Is it possible I'm drinking too much?

You guys ever get hella cut and see yourself in the mirror and start jerking off?
I was checking out my shredded back took a picture on my phone and jerked off while I had some porn playing in the back. Straight porn too.

Weird. I started at 226 and am now at 190. My goal is 180. What is your height?

Got down to 169 during term-time but back home for the summer and I've gone up to 180 (I'm 5'11). Granted i've been going to the gym 5 days a week and I''ve got some pretty evident gains on my arms but I can't wait to move away from the gains goblins back here and eat healthy again

i'm an accountant and I do alternate day fasting- so eating only every other day.
I don't experience headaches or really a loss of focus- if I do it's from smoking weed all day. I feel like I have wayy more energy and focus on fasting days- I schedule more shit on those days because I have more time without having to plan/think about/buy/eat food. feels good man

>Also don't run out and buy protein powder. You won't need it until you're lean, in the meantime learn to eat clean and less.

But whey in particular has been proven to protect lean mass on deficits

Patrick Bateman over here

Was so much easier to stay consistent before I got this restaurant gig... now the comp meals and drinking after my shift can easily wreak havoc on my cut.

I've shifted by eating more stringently on non-work days and I'm trying to not eat at all before a shift. Obviously the macros I'm getting on work days are pure garbage - but it's the best I can do while still being able to have fun and not go crazy.

Miss the good ol days though of getting into a rhythm on a cut and feeling like a monk.

I masturbate to my body in any stage wtf
Although I've been known to Photoshop myself to look like a chick and jerk it to that too

Pure math here: I don't get to calculate many things but obviously use my head a lot. One of the reasons I always cut with keto is exactly because of this, I can do IF/24h fasts and it doesn't affect my work.

Also, water only is a bad idea, make sure to get your electrolytes (too much water and no salt is a recipe for disaster)

Im not really counting calories, I just workout 4-6 days a week with bodyweight/kettlebell or do MMA. I usually eat two meals a day - breakfast which is a bowl of cereal (oats/millet) with a banana and orange, and then chicken breast or some beef with rice + veggies or cheese for dinner. Usually with a bunch of sriracha or couple tablespoons of BBQ sauce. Am I cutting? It looks like I'm getting leaner, and all my workouts are HIIT like grappling or cardio kickboxing or MMA classes. At home I do basic bodyweight exercises but now Im doing much less of that because together with martial arts it makes me feel sick (fever all night) and sore all the time.

>IF 22/2, keto, YHCL supplementation
I haven't had a solid shit in weeks.

More fiber user.

5'11 was 240 in January at 200 now. Trying to get 20 more ideally getting abit harder now. Quit soda, sweets beyond once or twice a month, way cut down on booze. Work out 3 times a week, if that.

I will make it.

Is losing 1lb a week too much if I want to retain the muscle I have? Im currently 5'10 187 wanting to drop to 160 or so

even if you lose muscle, you will still look 10 times bigger than you currently are cause shredded.

>>IF 22/2
that's pretty much OMAD, user. you're on dangerous ground to seriously screw up your metabolism

I'm using a meal prep service now. Makes cutting so much easier. Down 15 lbs

6'3, 200lb. So far I've been eating healthier and continuing to lift. My weight has only slightly gone down, but I look way better. Clothes fit differently. I can see my biceps. The two issues I have:

1. I fucking hate that I'm not getting stronger. Even on a starting strength program, I got my lifts up to miserable weakling numbers, but I can't do it anymore. I have to lower the weight to complete it. When I ate however much I wanted I'd always progress. But I don't want to get fat again.

2. Counting calories. I've been averaging things in my head. I don't have a scale and portioning things out even when it's based on cups is tedious and difficult. Some days I eat too much and other days I don't eat enough. So many fucking dishes to wash. Is there a guide or anything that makes being anal about calories easier? Other than the sticky of course.

Is myfitnesspal worth it? Free or paid version I mean

Don't need fiber on keto

>Don't need fiber on keto
Enjoy never shitting again and killing yourself slowly.

IF doesn't fuck up your metabolism.

>Question for those who fast, how do you deal with the headaches and lack of focus?

Someone please answer this it's killing me. And my stomach makes loud ass noises when empty how do i stop that

You have low blood sugar.
You have two choices, fight through it or eat a small snack.

What kind of fast?

Preoccupy yourself with something else.
I used to work 6 AM - 3 PM without eating since 10 the night before, and I would (stupidly) work out without eating first.
Never had headaches, but focus was an occasional issue.

How much of a cut is too much?
Maintenance is 3000 and I can tolerate 1500, 1000 some days
