How do people even make it anywhere if they work fulltime and live on their own?

How do people even make it anywhere if they work fulltime and live on their own?

I work 30 hrs a week and I barely have any time for reading, gym or really anything.

>commute 1 hour to work each day
>work 40+ hours a week
>still have time to cardio 30-40 minutes every morning and weights 4 days a week 1-2 hours

Haha are you serious ? You are terrible at time management. 30 hours a week is 6 hours a day. Assuming you sleep 8 hours, that's 10 hours of free time a day. 10 hours. Plus you have two days off. I work 50 to 60 hours a week and still manage to work out. You're just a pussy

Most people start working out for about 20 minutes a day.

btw, 30 hrs a week is nothing.

>1 week = 7days · 24hours = 168 hours
>168hours - 30 hours work = 138 hours
>138hours - (7 · 8 hours sleep) = 82 hours

you have 82 hours a week where you choose to continue to be mediocre, that's an impressive 48.8% of your week spent oxygen-thieving.

I'm at work for 9 hours Monday through Friday and I still have plenty of time to work out...I have a 25 minute commute to and from work, so I go to the gym right after work, get home from the gym by 8:30 or 9 pm, eat something and shower, spend 45 minutes to an hour on my computer and get to bed by 11:30

It's doable. Can't have much of a social life during weekdays unless you go out on rest days, but it's doable

I know that feel, currently work 10 hours a week from home up from 5 a week. It seems I never have any free time

Do u fuckers do anything else though?

Okay you can fit the gym in but how about other hobbies?

It's all about your priorities in life.. How hard is that to understand?

You have the time to do anything you want, it's your choice how you spend it.

If you work more than 40 hours, it's hard but not impossible.

30 hours is part time work. You probably have a shit load of extra time in a day you probably waste.

Okay but working 40 hrs a week is a given. So is exercise (lifting. Cardio) . How about LITERALLY everything else? There's no fucking time for it

30 Hours is less than full time. Gym takes what? 1 hour a day?
You should have plenty of time for both, and if you don't waste a bunch of time dickking around on the internet or sleeping in, you should be able to do a lot more. Just figure out exactly what you want to do and stick to a fucking schedule. It's pretty simple.

You can work 50 hours a week, have a great body, and a rewarding social life.

If you know specifically what you need to do to achieve your goals, it's much easier. Ironically, people who work 40 hours and then complain about not having enough time do so because they are aimless.

It's when you get into the 55+ that I understand the difficulties.

Boo hoo, some weeks I have to work up to 60 and still lift 3x a week, about an hour each session.

I had to buy a garage gym since I'm not about that wasting time driving life however, look into that.

It only takes 3 hours of lifting per week to build decent muscle.

Getting a decent body overall requires proper nutrition though.

I work out from home, get a binch+bar & pull up/dip set , simple investment. I work out light before work then heavy when I get home after. read + light cardio on rest days. only thing you really won t be able to do it squat or crazy max out binch press but whatever

I wake up at 0510, and then get off work at 4:45 pm ish, then I eat, gym until like 6:40 pm, go home and play video games until about 9-10 at night and repeat

8 hours of work + 1 hour gym leaves 15 hours in the day.

Sleep 6 hours that leaves you 9 hours to do shit per day.

That's before weekends.

What's this thread about again?

Working out is a lifestyle change. You have ti exchange that for something else you do. You cant play video games for 6 hours and work and sleep. Gotta give up a few of them hours to work out. Make working out your new hobby. Get your prioritites straight. Otherwise youll never make it

Stop wasting your time on your computer or tv. No video games, no surfing, no tv series, no Veeky Forums. Suddenly you have free time. That simple.

If you work 8 am to 4 pm week days and sleep from 11 pm to 7 am, you have 8 hours on week days and 16 hours on weekend days to work out. That's 72 hours. If you can't fucking use those 72 hours for like 6 hours of gym then you're a failure.

>no Veeky Forums
Top kek

>30hrs a week
HAHAHAHAHA

How do you live on 30 hours a week? Like rent and everything?

Could be high paying per hour.

I'm a Mathematics/Engineering Lecturer at a University and I get paid $65/hr for 25 hrs/week.

Could be, but he doesn't sound like he's smart enough to make that kind of money.

If you're asking if I play vidya, smoke weed, and watch 8 hours of TV per day, the answer is no.

Are you kidding me? $65/hour is not a lot of money.

>About twice the national average

Can you stop? Can you just stop?

>Shift is either 10a-6p or 1p-9p, depending on day of the week
>40 hour week minimum (used to do 48, working 6 days/week)
>always wake up at 8am (this is the key to life)
>if early shift, just get ready and go to work, extra comfy time to not be in rush

>shower and eat, done by 8:30
>3.5 hours of extra time
>late shift, wake up at 8am
>workout 8a-9a
>shower and eat, done by 10:30
>spend two hours fucking around, errands if needed
>work til 9p
>still have 3 hours to chill before bed at midnight
>two whole days for 16 hours of free time a piece

>30 hours a week

fucking pathetic son.

I work from home and only have to meet a weekly hours total and have a home gym, so it's pretty easy for me to get 2 one hour workouts a day.

I am guessing you are from the US?

Obviously the average is gonna be low af with all of the homeless and wagecucks you have.

>25 hrs
>for

my god you poor pleb

OP, try cooking your meals in bulk so that you cut that sort of time out. Use your weekends for "hobbies" that aren't a core part of your day. Choose one + lifting to be a core part of your day. Consider waking up early to lift.

Also, consider investing. I heard a story about a guy who put a down payment on a house and started renting it out. He net more than average after mortgage and upkeep and it didn't take much time out of his week.

Why would you use $ amount if you're not from the US? Don't play stupid. Making $65 per hour 25 hours a week is still $84,500 annually, which is obviously a lot for part time hours.

>wake up 0610
>showered shaved and at work by 0700

I should probably get another hour or 2 of sleep to maximise gains, but it's rough when I'm at work 50h/week. I usually sleep 10h on weekends

>Only 1 country where he makes less than average

That's after tax too. He'd take home about 60k after income tax. Only in Switzerland can you expect the average person to make more.

nationmaster.com/country-info/stats/Cost-of-living/Average-monthly-disposable-salary/After-tax

exactly, especially given everyone on fit is making at least 110k a year full time.

no social life

Wagekek thinks he's superior to somebody.

Workie workie starts tomorrow. Go to bed so Mr. Sheklestein won't get angry with you.

Your parents are disappointed in you.

You're disappointed with yourself

no offense, but what the fuck does your piece of shit husband do if you're doing all that work around the house/farm?

Nah I'm good. You are a pathetic waste of resources and would be the first to be culled. The day will come.

Fuck his tight boipussi until he's screaming out for Daddy.

MODS! We got a ragie wagie over here!

He gets up after me, goes for a run, gets the kids dressed and ready for breakfast, takes them to school, runs his business, picks the kids up from school, helps with homework, does all the weeding in the garden and puts the animals away for the night, and helps with the cleaning list.

So you have no fucking social life and no free time.

Weekends are spent with friends and family. And The kids spend every saturday with my dad or his parents so we can have evening to ourselves.

As to free time during the week, the farm is our free time. It's our hobby. Some people play video games. We raise most of our own meat and produce. And we're slowly expanding the garden into a food forest.

I'm not a religious person but the adage "Idle hands are the devil's playground" is quite appropriate. If you want to be bored and depressed then stop working towards a goal you're passionate about and be a lazy piece of shit. If you want to feel rewarded and blessed then work your ass off doing what you enjoy and don't come up with excuses.

>30 hours a week

you fucking pussy. I normally work 40 hours a week, have been understaffed the last month and worked 50 hours on-average, and I still have fucking time in the morning to get up and go to the gym.

Dude literally worked 40+ hours a week. I worked out on my way home which was a 2 hour trip. Stop playing vidya OP if thats whats your problem.

Im not going to lie, it sounds nice and Id love to be in your shoes (except for that gay shit)... but I just don't have the money to buy a farm.

Could very well be in a cheaper state. I used to live in AZ and rent on-average was only 400-600 per person depending on how many roommates you had.

>I work *30 hrs a week* and I barely have any time for reading, gym or really anything.

You're barely working.

>Sleep 6 hours
If i dont get 8 hours and 45 minutes sleep then im tired as shit.

I envy you people who dont need much sleep.

Don't get me wrong, work is a massive waste of time, but I have everything down with time management.

I eat breakfast and lunch at work. I use the office gym around times when my coworkers have meetings, so my lifting is done before I leave. I train at a boxing gym that's about a mile from my office and a couple miles from my condo, so it's easy to get everywhere effectively after work.

If I'm out with friends I'll eat out, otherwise I'll just have a protein shake at home at night. This means I pretty much never accumulate dishes or trash at home, so I don't need to waste my time cleaning very often.

Ultimately, this leaves me plenty of time to shitpost on Veeky Forums, which is the ultimate goal in life.

I get up at 6, I work from 7 to noon. I have 20 minute lunch at my desk. Then I work till 6:30. Home by 7. Eat dinner with family. Kids in bed by 8. Home gym 8-9 in the backyard. Shower. Read or show from 9.15ish-10ish. Sleep.

I do that 6 days/week. My work/life balance isn't sustainable long run but I'm making a lot of money now and in another 5 years I'll be able to work much less and spend more time (hopefully) coaching my kids in sports. They're 6 months old and 2.5 years old right now.

I work 30 hours a week sometimes more, I'm a bouncer and work roughly 4-5 days a week. Some days I'll be standing for 10 hours.

Still never miss a workout, roughly workout 3-4 times a week. My 3 workouts a week are full heavy compounds.

The only thing that fucks me up is keeping to my diet, i need to rely a lot on powders / gainers because i cant eat every 3 hours.

How badly do you want it?

>worked out on my way home
Jacking off to strangers is not a workout dublindare

im a phd student my contract says i work 40 hours a week, implying 8 hours a day (LEL)

more like 12

and I ALWAYS go to the gym no matter what happens, even if it's 11 pm at night

everything else is just bullshit excuses

We started by renting an acre of this property from the previous owners.

I had already been gardening my whole life and had a pretty intensive system already developed. I started with the staples. Some big boy tomatoes, two heirloom varieties, two cucumbers, squashes, salads and corn.

We had no equipment other than a shovel and basic gardening equipment.

The saying is "time is money". Well it goes the other way too "Money is time." If you don't have money, spend your time. Don't spend $100k on equipment that won't pay for itself in the time you save. And don't spend time on something when an investment can save you money.

The first year we earned $15k selling direct to consumer at farmer's markets. The next year we revisited all our decisions and refined the scheduling and made $35k especially selling direct to local businesses instead of wholesale. This second year we even made minimum wage for the time. In the third year we netted $55k. All the while we were working full time jobs and working our asses off tending this plot of land

The next year (4th) the owners told us they were planning on selling and this would be the last year they would be renting to us, and would clause us into the sale to finish out the year.

the three years sales all went to the bank and we made and offer. They took it.

does your university gym stay open after 11?

Gains, Career and shitposting for me

Wait what, they sold you a huge land for like 150k? What?

>work 84 hours a week as a paramedic
>Still make it to the gym 4 times a week for about 8 hours total
The fuck are you doing user?

>>work 84 hours a week as a paramedic

bullshit detected, have 4 paramedics in my family, and know many others. they work up to 48 hours a week, and can work 24 hours straight but they can time off etc..

Interesting anecdote, fucktard.

>He thinks Paramedic services are the same around the world
>Or between states/regions
>Or even in counties

Services vary dramatically depending on where you are.
I work 24 hours for local FD, followed by 12 hours for a different EMS only service, and 6 hours volunteer for a town.
Two times a week at each
Is
84
Hours

>84 hours
>paramedic

Stop lying, go back to school and keep studying to become a paramedic.

>all my family are paramedics
>all my friends too
>I know every detail of all their schedules
>as well as all the schedules of every paramedic in the world
>but you need to stop lying

quality post

good for you user, grind hard and don't lose sight of your goal :-)

78.1 acres of hilly shit for farming land for $350k

>only needing 8 hours and 45 minutes
fuck I need at least 10 hours

If it was shit for farming why buy it?

I work 40-50 hours a week, spend roughly 10 hours commuting, have a small kid and a wife that also works multiple days. Between spending time with my family, working and doing my part in our household, I find time to workout 3-4 times a week and also spend time on other hobbies (playing guitar, riding my motorcycle).

If you can't make it work, you're just not trying hard enough or you're spending a shitload of time on things that shouldn't even matter, like lurking on a Vietnamese Basket weaving forum.

30 hours a week and still can't find time - kek. Never gonna make it.

>I worked out on my way home which was a 2 hour trip
For a while i thought you meant you worked out AS YOU WALKED HOME for 2 hours, like stopping every minute to lift or do exercises

Because it was cheap for the land space.

When I say "shit for farming" I should say "Shit for traditional mono-culture farming"

I knew the first time I laid eyes on the 1 acre they were letting us rent that the whole plot of land had huge potential.

The first thing I did was to introduce a beaver couple to the southern end of the property. There was a shitty stream that trickled through the property but had gouged a wide swath. I now have 13 acres of water feature. The owners downstream have all said that they don't get the flash floods anymore because the wall of water hits the lakes behind the beaver damns and stops dead in it's tracks. And the guy immediately south of us has said in the last 50 years his well head had dropped 10 feet. Since we put the beavers in his well head is 4 feet higher than he's ever seen it. He's got beavers too now.

Water from the lake gets pumped up to the paddocks by a solar pump non stop to the troughs. which overflow and puts water up onto the land and into the garden.
I've planted trees and move the animals so no spot gets overgrazed and I cycle the animals so as to promote dead end pathways for disease vectors. i.e. Chickens follow the cows and sheep to pick through their manure and spread it around and eat all the bugs they attract. Then the goats and pigs come through and eat the woody shrubby plants the cows and sheep leave behind.

Right now we're in the phase of putting in fruit trees which will be the backbone that we let the garden go wild in for the food forrest.

thats some ambitious shit right there.

out of curiosity what kind of wildlife have you attracted back? do you sell anything from your garden still?

>out of curiosity what kind of wildlife have you attracted back?
Everything. Last year I took 3 deer. We have a permanent turkey presence in the trees around the beaver lake and paddocks, and shitloads of geese and migratory birds in spring and fall.

> do you sell anything from your garden still?
The only real regular sales are some direct sale agreements with restaurants for seasonal produce and rabbits for a french joint.

I grow more produce than we could ever eat and what we can't or won't use goes out on a produce stand around by the garage. We let the locals come by and take whatever they want and they pay on an honor system. Some people pay retail or better in the cash box, some put in pocket change. There's 3 dirt poor mexican families that regularly take stuff and don't pay. But they bring back salsa and stuff they made with it for us. they're always knocking on the shop door
>necesitas ayuda senior user?

how is 30h even fulltime?

How does one go about "introducing beavers" to an area? Do you pay for them?

You're doing God's work user. Even though you say you're not religious. That's some holy scripture shit right there.

I hope one day I can do this kind of good for my family, other people, and the earth.

you've really touched me. I need to stop being so fucking lazy.

The couple I got them from died. They ran a beaver rescue.

Beaver can be incredibly destructive and if their engineering operations aren't carefully monitored they can case significant damage to crop land.

A perfect example is my property. I have 13 acres of water that in some spots is 8 feet deep. If left to their own devices and the damn fails that can amount to a lot of water being suddenly released. some beaver damns are HUGE and hold back tens of thousands of acre feet of water.

So... Farmers usually shoot them.

The rescue operations will trap them and re-home them in a spot where heir presence wont endanger farm or people.

I have some pretty massive water pumps constantly moving water out of the lake and up onto my property for irrigation. I also have and maintain drains on the damns which also limit how much water is being retained on the property.

Maintaining those drains is a weekly chore since ANY running water they'll try and stop up any way they can.

God I hope your memeing

30 hr a week is fucking nothing, most people would kill for 30 hr a week

Fucking kill yourself OP, you'd never make it even if you worked zero hours a week

Thanks, I appreciate the positive feedback.

I was raised luthern, converted to buddhism in highschool and lost organized religion shortly thereafter.

Growing our own food started after we found out we ate a bag of spinach that had been recalled for a ecoli or salmonella scare or some shit.

It's just grown into a passion for, like you said, taking care of my family, friends, neighbors, and the earth.

Just because I'm tired and cranky. I know you're trying to be cute with the whole "money is time" thing, but just stick with "time is money." It has a nice ring to it, is the actual saying, and means the same thing you were explaining. Time is valuable so you don't want to waste it, but it's also money, and you don't want to waste money. Some people do want to spend 100K on a tractor that won't pay for itself. Fuck it, their time has more value than yours I guess. Maybe they're just dumb, or rich, or rich and dumb

And you missed my point entirely.

The other user was asking about not being able to afford starting a farm.

The point I was making was that there's no sense going into debt to buy a 100k tractor unless that expense will pay itself off.

If user can AFFORD to spend 100k on a tractor then by all means spend the fucking money on it.

But a new farmer spending $100k on a tractor when they're already paying on a land loan or mortgage is the stupidest fucking move they can make.

I've been doing this long enough that I've seen plenty of farmers go bankrupt trying to throw money at the farm to get it started. And I've seen plenty of dirt poor farmers like myself spend the time instead of money and become quite successful.

>wake up at 6am
>prepare breakfast (weigh oats and put them in a tub)
>shower, shit shave, get dressed
>head to work (2 hour commute) - read books (surprisingly comfy)
>get to work
>eat breakfast
>work until 1
>either run in Hyde Park if it's not a lifting day and then eat lunch or just eat
>work until 5
>go home
>2 hour commute, more reading/podcasts
>get into my station at 7pm
>go to gym for 2 hours
>home at 9pm
>make dinner, also prepare tomorrow's lunch
>prepare suit etc for tomorrow
>slide into bed at about 10pm
>rinse and repeat

the commute is shit I'll admit, but I do get a lot of reading done which I enjoy and it's necessary for my career

Can I work/live on your farm? Kinda want to quit my job, get rid of all my shit, and leave it all behind.

Just move closer? Unless you're using public transport this must not be murica.

You make sacrifices in some aspects of your life to benefit in others. If you don't value your health enough to sacrifice some social time in order to better yourself you're never gonna make it.

Source: work 40 hours a week, study degree online and still have time for PPLPPLX

What are you doing? Are you only sleeping 7 or 8 hours a night? Because I'm in class 30 hours/week, and studying an extra 20 on average/week and I still find time for the gym, cooking my meals, watching tv or reading, and shit posting.
