Jack wrote a book called "Androphilia" about masculinity in gay culture. He wrote the book under the name Jack Malabranche and changed his name later. The Way of Men, A Sky Without Eagles, and Becoming a Barbarian have no discussion of his being gay himself.

The books are fairly interesting, and that quotation from Violence is Golden (an essay) isn't very representative of his longer form writing. (I did like a Sky Without Eagles a lot and I'd recommend it. It's a collection of essays.)

Though I like Jack I haven't really been a big fan of his sort of withdrawing (or at least declining) to support or really discuss the emergence of the alt-right recently, though A Sky Without Eagles talks about his associations with Richard Spencer and people like that. Regardless of his sexual preferences, Donovan makes strong points about the importance of supporting a community of like minded individuals who have banded together in pursuit of common goals. The concepts from his book are easily applicable to modern life and the loss of this cohesion between males today.
