About to hit the halfway point on my 48 hour fast, Feel a bit a laggy but I haven't drank as much coffee today as I did yesterday. Can medical professional user from last thread give his take on P.D. Mangan's iron articles? They seem reasonable however I have no medical knowledge and afaik it's just him saying iron is poison. I want to trust him because he works with Fung and D'Agostino but I'm already out on a limb enough with fasting.

Fung makes it seem like jumping from 16:8 to 18:6 or even 20:4 would be really good metabolically and would induce a burst of hgh production, anyone have experience doing this in conjuction with powerlifting?

Checked. Probably some people are bullshitting, but the science and results are absolutely legit.

It's hard to binge eat 3/4000 (clean) calories in 4 hours, your body just can't process it that fast. Nutrient absorption kinda determines how fast you can eat. Different for each individual, give it a try. If I were going to try this I would eat the exact same thing every day so my gut bacteria become specialized in breaking that exact thing down.

Just finished my 3rd day of fasting. It keeps getting easier, my body is adapting to absence of carbs.
Today while at work out of nowhere I had a large boost of energetic/euphoric feeling that lasted for couple hours. Somewhat similar to MDMA high, but not as intense.
Overall I'm feeling great, energy levels are high, sleeping well. No negative effects so far.

One thing to note - fasting brought me a brand new appreciation for food. While I barely feel any hunger, I miss the pleasure of eating and tasting it. I notice food everywhere around me and it's becoming a small obsession of mine. Cooking shows on youtube are better than porn, I can binge them for hours..

I'm on day 5 of my water fast rn and holy fuck this is easy. I have literally no hunger or temptation. I have done about five 3-4 day fasts before, but I kept quitting because I would feel light headed and get headaches. As far as energy, I do feel I have more, but I'm unsure if it's just a placebo or not. I've always preferred lifting fasted so I had no problems adjusting to that. So far so good. It's really quite easy.

If I want to do a long fast(4 weeks and more)what should I supplement? I found liquid multivitamin and multimineral which would be easy to absorb but it contains some amino acids (L-Glutamin, Bcaa, L-Taurin, L-Carnitin).

Day 8 of 10. Lost 16lbs so far. Literally nothing to report. All early "rough" days have passed, though it wasn't all that bad. I'm currently meal planning for the refeed and beyond.

It'll be fine for the acids. Just watch out for things like muscle cramps, headaches and such. You'll need electrolytes if that happens.

What do you eat when you do keto? I never thought I'd be able to pull it off but I already eat only chicken breast, ricr, eggs and one piece of toast so cutting out carbs completely may actually be possible at this point.

i'm doing light keto (eating around 70-100 gr of carbs a day, 50 fat and around 200 protein) on a 1500 cal diet. mainly turkey/chicken/fish, cottage cheese, oats on days where i do high intensity cardio, whey protein, berries, flax seeds, broccoli and fruits, different sorts of cheese and vegetables depending on what was available or i was in the mood for. you can cook delicious stuff like chicken parmesan if you weigh your food. a food scale is a must. just google keto meals.

One of the biggest things for me with IF and long term fasting so far, is watching my discpline grow. It started with keeping food out of my mouth for at least 16 hours a day, but then within 2 months it was about staying on the damn bike and riding that 20 mile bike workout, in fasted state, to the end.

I'm having a trifling bit of time transfering this over to other things I do, but knowing I can do this is probabaly one of the biggest literal blessings of my life, hope you other brahs are having times just as great as I am.

depending on what you want, 16:8 or 18:6, maybe even 20:4 if you think you can get everything into the window.

allegedly most of the real shit kicks off at around 15-16 hours, and you'll get a little doing 16:8, but holding out just another 2-4 hours on top of that can really jack up your HGH and epinepherine levels in addition to lowering your insulin response.

I'd personally recc playing around and find what suits you, if you don't care for numbers, just start by skipping breakfast

If you are on day 3, I think you should already be in ketosis.

Even then, ketogenic diets often aim for less than 50g of carbs a day, so unless it was a lot of chips you probably wont break keto.

What you did do is reawaken your digestive system, so expect to feel hunger again like during the first couple days. And try to refeed properly when the time comes, because coffee and chips isnt exactly the recommended way to do it and you can make yourself sick if you do it wrong.

SO, cream is usually safe because it's mostly fat and fat doesn't invoke any insulin response thusly preserving the fasting state.

Normally, you only start with juice, half and half with water the first day, nothing else. You need to ease into it. The diahrrea can literally kill you otherwise.
