You're not fit unless you can run a 10k in under 1 hour

>You're not fit unless you can run a 10k in under 1 hour

are you fit, Veeky Forums?

I've never ran more than 3 miles continuously in my entire life

That's like 5 miles in burger units. Christ, I could walk that in an hour.

Terrible form in that pic. And my fat 50 year old dad ran a 10k in 53 min with no training. anything over 40 min is not fit.

You don't need to run to be considered "fit".
You do need to be able to perform some level of cardio for a set time though.
If you can't row for 20 minutes straight you have a weak cardiovascular system.

>10km under 1 hr

Come on, that is a pretty low standard. Make it 50 mins. Bet most people here are too unhealthy to run. Yea, you have big muscles, but it is pretty useless in today day and age.

It's 6 miles and no you couldn't.

>And my fat 50 year old dad ran a 10k in 53 min with no training
lies

whoa that's like 10 minute miles thats crazy dude how could anyone do 6 of those

Unironically ran my first 10k in 59 minutes on a whim this morning.
Normally only go for 8k, since I find it to be long enough to stay healthy and keep depression away.

I walk about a mile every 15 minutes

>lets check if thats plausible
>15x60=900
>1600/900=1.778
>1.7m (per second)
yep, walking a mile about every 15 minutes is realistic

so 10k under an hour right?

>60x60=3600
>10,000/3600=2.778
>2.7m (per second)

You only need to average 2.8 metres each second to do 10k in under an hour.

A light jog should kill it; so yes, if you can't do 10k in under an hour than you are very unfit

piece of cake

Best time I ever did was 38 minutes

your walk to jog gains wont be linear my dude. Its like saying "ohhhh I can read and understand this Shakespeare play at 1 page every 5 minutes, now if only I increase that...."

have never made more than 45 mins

I could walk a 10k in an hour.

Running the mean streets with hills and shit I do a 10k in 55 min.

Around a flat track 35 min.

>You only need to """"average"""" 2.8 metres each second to do 10k in under an hour.

the point remains, average or not the increase will not be linear, just like when you try to understand some horribly written shakespeare by "just speeding up"

10k in an hour and you are fit? Try more like 40 min, then we are talking.

What if that's the only exercise I do?

No thanks. You have to be skinny do that. I like my muscles a bit to much.

Nope.

What if you have arthritis and therefore are only fit in zero- or low-impact athletics?

I only do hiit, I run about 4k in 20 minutes

Lol yes, that is easy.

Is 48min that good if my age is 22?

>You're not fit unless you can deadlift 405 lbs

Rule change faggots, are you fit, Veeky Forums?

This
My fat 50 year old mom deadlifts 4.5 plate without any training
Yeah,we should make the standard 5 plate. Running fast is useless "in this day and age" (cringe, you pretentious faggot), because we have cars
Woah that's like 55 kg per femoral bicep muscle how could anyone do 4 of those
Yeah 6 plate deadlift is the bare minimum to be fit
