I recently heard Scythians had trans people, and I realized there arent many historical books or sources out there about trans people in general, and I'd like to know more. Any idea where I should start? or any culture that was prominately more accepting and might have more records??

It drives me crazy when contemporary LGBTQ activists point to what they claim are instances of LGBTQ behavior in non-western (or pre-modern) societies.
LGBTQ denotes a system of sexual ideas and practices which has only ever existed in the modern west (for example, ideas such as "the gay gene" and practices such as gloryhole fisting).
These ideas and practices emerged within a complicated nexus of idea-shifting and culture-shifting that includes (for example) the rise of modern psychology, evolutionary biology, birth control, and specific legal developments.
You may travel to a Pacific Island and find a man wearing the clothing that women typically wear in that culture, but the significance of that act must be understood in relation to that culture. You cannot call him "trans." He does not understand himself that way.
People are making an absolute mess of anthropology by declaring "homosexuals exist in all societies" or "trans people have always existed." It's sloppy thinking deployed for politically convenient arguments.
>be less than 1% of the West, even though heavily promoted in modern Western society.
>Why aren't there more historical sources???
Because aside from the nobility, most people historically were just trying to survive. There's all kinds of tales of gays in the ancient era, but even then they understood sex between men and women makes offspring, who can continue a family. So a dude might dress as a chick fuck dudes, but also have a wife and a son. So his fag shenanigans get chalked up to a footnote, if not at all.
Trans gender is a 20th century invention
>I recently heard Scythians had trans people
From a reliable source I'm sure
Oh fuck off, why do you have to be so fucking dense???? Ofcourse they werent "trans", just like there were no "gay" people. It's obvious OP meant gender expression outside the contemporary western culture binary, individuals that through todays lense might be considered transgender. Just like we fucking recognize men kissing other men in ancient times as pretty gay, even though it clearly wasn't, but it definitely codes that way in our culture.
>implying I care the weight of importance in numbers
>Implying I'm brainless and wonder why there are no sources
>Implying there's no sources because there are no sources is a valid answer to anything
jfc, I'm just asking if there are any books or texts out there that might have info on trans behaviour on some period throughout ancient history, since I don't know any.
Clearly not, this is why I'm asking you buttnigger.
...
And sexuality is a 15th century one but we still talk about socrates fucking little boys.
I think it is 21st century invention. There have alwaysbeen people who wanted to become another gender, but level of retardism that you think that there is literally a little girl inside bear body is just few years old.
This the same argument as "Philosophy is only valid to Greeks. No other culture has philosophy. What they had must be understood in their own context. They didn't understood their belief to be philosophy." Literally a pleb argument. Also the same exact argument as "No one understands anyone because everyone understand things in different ways". Aka, everything is unintelligible argument.
The existence of Hijra as a third sex has been a thing since the vedic history began and recorded it as such. Vedas, Buddhist sutras record such people. Hijras are "third gendered" or guys who identify as women. This is common to most middle east/south asian country.
It wasn’t trans people but more intersex, read Herodotus for more (doesn’t say if he was a trap lover or not ;-;)
>knowing about glory hole fisting
Herodotus you jogger
>>south asia had homosexual street prostitutes so therefore my desire to surgically mutilate myself and pump my body full of female hormones because my daddy didn't hug me enough when I was young is completely justified historically!
lol
I have no intentions of undergoing any kind of surgical procedures concerning my penis. All the hormones I take come in the shape of herbs.
t. actual tranny
>Hijra
You know how I can tell you've never been to india?
Using hijira to justify contemporary mores around trannies is asinine. They are lower caste boys who get kidnapped and castrated and forced to work as hookers. I love how people who bring them up always ignore this, and all the other retarded caste shit in india, just so they can cherrypick and pose as multicultural and enlightened
There is no such history
Afganian Bachi Bazi are kinda like trans
Mental illness and sexual degeneracy have existed in all human society for a long time, you don't have to be a historian to know it.
The best place for (You) is /lgbt/ or gas chamber.
Slaanesh is from warhammer 40k though not any historical archive
How is your soy intake?
Scythians had effeminate male priests if you go by Herodotus.
A RELIABLE source. Herodotus called lots of folks bitches and fags. He said that the Lydians or somebody were afflicted with a hereditary "female disease" as a result of smashing a temple of Aphrodite. This literal gay curse, he said, turned them into big weepy pusses to whom honor was almost wholly unknown. He went so far as to say that these people OWNED UP TO IT and helpfully explained the magical origins of their egregious queerness.
So, come on.
>Herodotus
>A reliable source
>starts making a strong case
>>"or guys who identify as women"
>ends by literally falling into the trap he was talking about in the most retarded way
You fucking nigger
That's a lot of words for "faggotry only apply to wh*te subhumans".
There were crossdressers in Italy since centuries.

A ceremony called the matrimonio dei femminielli takes place in Torre Annunziata on Easter Monday, a parade of femminielli dressed in wedding gowns and accompanied by a "husband" travel through the streets in horse-drawn carriages.[8]
Tradition
The femminiello in Campania, enjoy a relatively privileged position thanks to their participation in some traditional events, such as Candelora al Santuario di Montevergine (Candlemas at the Sanctuary of Montevergine) in Avellino[9] or the Tammurriata, a traditional dance performed at the feast of Madonna dell'Arco in Sant'Anastasia.[10]
Generally femminielli are considered good luck. For this reason, it is popular in the neighborhoods for a femminiello to hold a newborn baby, or participate in games such as bingo.[7] Above all the Tombola or Tombolata dei femminielli,[11] this is a popular game performed every year on the 2nd of February, as the conclusive part of the Candlemas at the Sanctuary of Montevergine.
Think of this way.
The human society in general, regardless which cultures, is like a human body, normal human body naturally has a very small percentage of metaplasia cells(abnormal cells), probably lower than 10% usually. The immune system of healthy human body can prevent these metaplasia cells become dysplasia or cancerization (aka “cancer cells”), but when human body is ill with dysfunctional immune system, the metaplasia cells will highly likely “transform” into cancer cell(carcinogenesis), then you’ll get cancer.
Now imagine those degenerates such as “trans” or LGBT, faggots, honkie supremacist, KKK, junhkies, libercucks...etc are like metaplasia cells in a human body of natural state. A healthy human body should contain or prevent them spreading, transforming into actual cancer cells, rather than bottomless “indulge” them, “normalize” them. When our body fail to do that, then we’ll get cancer. When our society fail to do that, then we’ll get cancer. Like nowadays.
Leave your basement and talk to actual people once in a while.
Doesn’t mean it can’t represent sensual degeneracy
Trans people existed forever in places like Thailand and the country is doing pretty well compared to many others
loving this desperate /pol/ attempt to drum up anger and outrage lmao
The Roman Empire had a tranny emperor for a period of time.
>Herodian commented that Elagabalus enhanced his natural good looks by the regular application of cosmetics.[45] He was described as having been "delighted to be called the mistress, the wife, the queen of Hierocles" and was reported to have offered vast sums of money to any physician who could equip him with female genitalia.[39]
>Finally, he set aside a room in the palace and there committed his indecencies, always standing nude at the door of the room, as the harlots do, and shaking the curtain which hung from gold rings, while in a soft and melting voice he solicited the passers-by. There were, of course, men who had been specially instructed to play their part. For, as in other matters, so in this business, too, he had numerous agents who sought out those who could best please him by their foulness.
you can guess what his fate was when the rumors and accusations came to light.
You probably always had people who were only attracted to people of the same sex though, so it's not like gays are really a new thing.
Man this post is a doozy. I will try to explain.
What makes "Gay" a modern phenomenon is not "man liking man." What makes "gay" a modern phenomenon is all the extra baggage we pin to the word and the behavior it denotes.
When westerners talk about "gays" they will likely bring up things like: politics, laws, genetics, psychology, religion. They will frame it in a modern context.
The problem occurs when they use the word carelessly to describe "man liking man" and then bring all that baggage with them.
It's not a word-useage problem, it's a conceptual problem.

>cannibalism was wildly practiced in certain remote African cultures, therefore cannibalism is moral!
liberal logic
John Money (the kike in pic related) was one of the original architects of "gender fluidity" propoganda. Most of his work was done in the 20th century.
>I'm above being outraged, unlike those stupid conservative rednecks. The best morality is no morality
>Implying that's not obvious propaganda
>this level of pol autism
>a photo of someone in a costume reading books to children is morally outrageous but not enough at the same time so we have to draw a comparison to a satanic deity of a tabletop miniature wargame to try to make our delusion more understandable to someone without autism
see
>acknowledges that it's outrageous but somehow we should forget that because a Veeky Forums nerd made a post
Fuck off queer.
>acknowledges that it's outrageous
It's not
>somehow we should forget that because a Veeky Forums nerd made a post
I was simply outlining your autism-ridden "thought" process to you
Brain abnormalities, like the ones which present as believing you are the wrong sex, or being sexually attracted to the same sex, etc, have always existed.
No culture I know of was accepting of this. They were generally just killed.
Rome literally had a whole class of people who cut off their balls and wore women's clothes. /pol/ is a reactionary cult driven by emotional appeals to a false idea of tradition that is anti-fact and anti-reason.
Awesome, what were they called?
>I recently heard Scythians had trans people
Oh yea... first "black native Europeans", now this bullshit.
SJWs must be very determined to vandalize the rich prehistory of Europe...
>Scythians
>pre-history
Scythians didn't write anything themselves, so fair enough.
The Galli
Your lot already ruined /lgbt/ and is blatantly obvious that you are only looking for 'sources' that agree with your preconceived point of view of this subject; so, kindly, go kys.
>Unironic comparisons to Slaanesh.
My fucking God, at least use arguments that aren't the right-wing equivalent of "Trump is Voldemort!"
This is a shitty reconstruction btw.
Pic related is more probable.
yeah for whatever reason they had an uncommon number of hermaphrodites, it was rumored to have something to do with horseriding at the time but it was probably genetic
not trans though, they didn't think like that
these people often entered into religious practice, like it was a divine mark
hey man at least Trump doesn't fucking cosplay as voldemort. It's inviting the comparison.
>Subincision (like circumcision) is widespread in the traditional cultures of Indigenous Australians, and is well documented among the peoples of the central desert of Australia such as the Arrernte and Luritja.
>A subincized penis can be penetrated by another penis, provided the latter is sufficiently small. In some Australian cultures, one traditional practice involved the penetration of an elder's subincized penis by the unsubincized penis of a young boy who was usually under age 7. Some authors have theorized that this was the original purpose of subincision.
get a load of this shithead
People who seriously call others degenerates are literally always hypocrites and cunts, no exception
>actual tranny
No such thing.
>gays were accepted in ancient rome/greece
