Vitamin d supplementation inneffective - could be dangerous

sciencealert.com/vitamin-d-tablets-may-be-worse-for-you-then-nothing-at-all

Is this bullshit or what? It claims there is NO evidence of supplementation having any benifits whatsoever. Surely this can't be real. Is the only way to get all micronutrients and vitamins and minerals through REAL FOOD™?

Does the fact that the url has then instead of than discredit the whole thing? Surely it must

You expect me to take that article seriously when they don't even have the difference between than and then squared away? Fuck off m8.

Nigga did you see the last line of my post?

when you are a person of melanin and/or wok nights there is no way around, you need to eat an aquarium to get that by food.

Holy fuck. All for like $10 every 4 months. Truly the GOAT of all supplements. If I never found it in the sticky I might not have grown the 6cm I grew when I started lifting.

>taking Vitamin D in amounts fit for toddlers is ineffective in adults, says study done one less than 500 people
>also this editorial, which I try to make you think is a peer reviewed article, is against supplements
>I am a Medical specialist, even though I'm a Genetic Epidemiology professor and here, buy my book

This is weak as fuck.

This is only controversial if you're a huckster. We literally only just this year developed a useful mouse model for vitamin D in non-canonical systems (outside of bone health). The IOM reviewed hundreds of studies in coming to the conclusion that there is no benefit to consuming more than a few hundred IU a day.

could basically be like the wolff-chaikoff effect for iodine. large bolus doses cause a paradoxical inhibition of vitamin d action.

>tfw stayed indoors most of teenage years
>manlet

Seriously I just eat my eggs, what's this supp bs, more problems with no returns

>get a blood test done as a baseline
>take a once a day multi for 4 weeks
>get another test done
marvel at the increase

>fishoil makes my joints hurt

bad batch? Am I allergic? what the fuck is up?

Are you quoting yourself?

>Use LC-MS/MS with ptad for 25 and 24,25 hydroxy
Surprising to see, so we can actually trust changes in the metabolites
>Use RIA for 1,25
>Wow our nonspecific antibodies had increased signal when 25-oh increased
Truly epic
When will people figure out how homeostatically controlled hormones work

>then-nothing-at-all
>then
Site about "Science" with a grammatical error in url that's been sitting there for more than a year, really makes you think

This error is so common on this site. Why the fuck do so many people not know the difference between then and than? Is it what happens when you never read a book so you just spell phonetically

none of the assays were radioactive? and what is your point, that 1,25 doesn't increase in response to d3 loading?

.. I just clicked the image because she was cute and had huge knockers.

>tfw my multivitamin gives me about 800 IU.
nice

To be fair, you can't change a URL without breaking every link to it.

Still a crappy article, though.

multis are trash, you really are better off taking nothing.

I could supplement her some vitamin d if you know what I'm saying

Be scientist writing article
>Cite a single study against vit D
>ignore all the literature on the benefits of vit D supplements

What a shit article

literally perfect grill muh dick

>ended up doing a load of exams to investigate a nerve compression
>vit-D levels were almost at the insufficiency tier

Fuck that, started taking them pills

Caitlan knapton

Try taking 300,000 IU in one hit! This article is full of shit!

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4128480/

Have you heard of the sun you fucking retard ?

>tfw outdoors all the time growing up
>tfw still manlet
