Why is Bench press such a shit exercise? Both Squats and Deadlifts are as much physical tests of strength as mental that you have to give your all and push through while bench feels like nothing for all but the last rep where you suddenly just fail and cant move the bar any more

Smolov isn't a few sets it's gonna negatively impact your pulling and for what? A stronger weighted chin? That barely helps your powerlifts outside of making your back thicker which creates a mechanical advantage because there is slightly less ROM

I never said anything about world class lifters. I assume that if you're in a powerlifting thread your goal is powerlifting, if so then focus on pulling no chins. If it's not your goal then leave you are not in the right place

Realistically, it's silly to do smolov jr for chins because you wouldn't really get anything out of it, unless your lats are a weakpoint you need to specifically bring up, but then peaking is stupid and you're better off hammering every day chin volume instead, 100 weekly reps is easily doable. If your side goal is to be able to do heavy weighted chins, then just build your lats up and heavy weighted chins will come.
