Do full workout

>do full workout
>squats, bench press, barbell row, dips, planks
>absolutely fine
>bend over to pick up my bag in the locker room
>pull a muscle

>squat 405
>tweak my knee getting off the toilet

>tfw pulled my left hammie after diddylifting 245kg
so much for my uni gym comeback after lifting in a small garage gym from powerlifting bro for summer

>do my entire workout
>absolutely fine
>rerack a weight
>pull my back

>down for a year
It's so fucking embarrassing. I tell people I was going for a PR on deadlift.

Yet another reason a significant proportion of Veeky Forums shouldn't give advice and isn't going to make it; they'll injure themselves picking something light up or while carrying groceries

>walking home
>misplace foot
>odd landing about 3 inches lower than I expected as I trod off the curb
>knee injury flares up despite having been fine during all those squats and diddlies

this is actually a good lesson for anyone just starting out, or anyone in general

good form doesn't begin and end in the gym, even just standing with poor form will fuck you up

>pick up 180kg
>feels amazing
>pick up tiny 11 year old boy
>feels bad man

I injured my back and was hospitalised because i tried to follow Alan Thrall's squat form advice

>push yourself to the brink of injury lifting
>get injured performing a trivial task and attribute it to that instead of lifting
hahah every time xD

>diddly 4.5pl8 just fine
>Hurt back picking up niece

The problem is we can't lay children down on blocks and just deadlift them

>we can't
Says who?

Literally this
>regular gym schedule for 2 months without incident
>turn head to try and see pimple on back
>slip a disc

Let me guess, you started with a bodyweight squat

mind and body connection bro

Should've warmed up with some empty bags first.

>picking things up with poor form
>not constantly mantaining a neutral spine

This

It happened halfway through the bend. Not even picking up the bag. Just bending towards it.

>bench press 395
>get shot on the way home

>shit bag pickup form
Never gonna make it

>first day lifting
>10lb plate i had resting on bench falls and lands on toe

kek

Why? Did you molest him?

So how do you realistically prevent this shit from happening?

I'll be needing a new set of sides

I'd imagine properly cooling down helps, as mine happened shortly after working out.

However for random shit like knees tweaking once getting up off the toilet, or miss-stepping, ur fucked m88

steroids giveth....

>How do you prevent life
Dunno lad maybe when we can all become cyborgs

>pull back
>down for a year

You either did worse than pull it or you're taking too much time off.

If you can move around and do day to day stuff pain free then it's time to get back under the bar.

>Do OHP, lateral raises, dumbbell shoulder press, and rear delt machine
>Feel fine
>Flex in mirror
>Get shoulder impingement

Someone PLEASE KILL ME I NEED TO DIE!!!

what with brendan fraser getting his life back on track, someone else needed to take up the mantle

It's called the "JUST distribution". There must be at all times a certain amount of JUST in the universe at any one time. If it lessens in one area, it increases in another.

>do 7pl8 deadlift with oly shoes with a deficit for reps
>legs completely snap in half stepping off 2" platform once finished

>squat 6pl8
>knee explodes walking down the stairs as I leave the gym
>can't walk properly for 6 weeks can't squat for a fucking year

JUST

>do power cleans and clean pulls
>absolutely fine
>hang from the pullup bar
>pull an erector
JUST

I don't know which muscles you pulled, but lifting is supposed to teach you healthy habits, dumdums. E.g. flexing your core when you lift something heavy of the ground, or to retract your scapulae at all times when walking to maintain good posture. So either you are retarded enough to separate lifting from the rest of your life or you are unlucky enough to tear a muscle you would tear either way.

This...this so much..

Having a big deadlift and joocy legs is good, but work on your balance and coordination. This is why lifting weight =/= athletic.

Work on balance and coordination and full body, dynamic movements throught wide range of motion.

1 yoga class a week woyld do the trick, or youtube body mobility videos.

A few hours lifting heavy weights might make you better at moving heavy weights but it takes alot more than that to be a well balanced and fine tuned machine. I have no idea why people think they can neglect literally other facet of fitness and that a deadlift will instantly fill in the gaps.

Lol i bet most of these faggots dont even know what a scapular pushup is
