sorry to hear about your dick bro. is it still swollen and purple?

Tell story

>dumbbell overhead press
>85 lbs each
>knocking them out fine
>final rep
>shaking pretty bad
>get half way up, feel left shoulder bow inward
>audible pop
>shocking pain travels down arm; nearly feels like it's dangle
>arm keeps oozing in and out of the socket

>MRI came back
>completely torn ligaments in shoulder plus massive shearing

I was gonna ask: shoulder or back? rip say hi to zyzz & pianaman for me

How long have you been lifting?

You're not the first person I've heard that's snapped their shit up doing DB Shoulder Press.

If you're shaking at when lifting that means you're using too much weight, even if you're only shaking on the last rep or two, it's still a sign that you're using way too much weight.

>don't ego lift
Thanks I never heard of that before.

>he went heavy on dumbbell overhead press

You're supposed to go heavy on OHP, not the dumbbells.

If you OHP 60kg for reps, you should only do around 25 or 27.5kg dumbbells for reps. You were using 40kg dumbbells..........that means you better be able to OHP AT LEAST 80kg for reps, or you're going to snap your shit up....let me guess, you can't OHP 80kg for reps, can you?

Rip. Op. It's not over until you get kicked out of the gym.

Serves you right, ego lifting manlet cuck bitch.

Fuck bro sorry to hear that.
Thank god I dont do heavy dumbell presses, ill stick with ohp™

thats why u onnly do OHP bro

how is a ligament tear a permanent injury? you get surgery

lmao

I cringed at the thought of db ohp before I even read the rest of your story. Doesn't sound like a very good exercise. Sure you can get gains by lifting anything heavy but it sounds incredibly risky which is also a measure of how good an exercise is.

>one guy injures himself doing an exercise
>that means this exercise is inherently bad and inherently leads to injuries

Never change Veeky Forums

>blaming an amazing lift for a retards mistakes...

KYS

>amazing lift
[citation needed]

Sounds contradictory to the entire point of OHP which is to be a compound lift where the power comes equally from your core as much as from your upper body. OHP is not supposed to be just a deltoid or tri exercise and if you think so you have never done OHP correctly.

Which is why you do both and the db is for accessory? dyel?

Literally what I did 2 months ago bro, but I only dislocated and slightly pulled my ligaments. Was the worst feeling I've ever had. Sorry to hear mate

Or I could just do regular OHP and get my accessories in another way that isn't as incredibly injury prone. You do realize you can isolate tri's or individual delts without db ohp?

Cont.
Now I'm just doing a fuck load of rotator cuff excersizes to strengthen muscle because it pops out so easily now

>incredibly injury prone

Just reading about it made me shiver at the thought so yeah. Even common sense should tell you not to do this, if you lack one then other people's experiences in this thread can hope to replace it.

>hurt back on squats couple years ago
>still use it as an excuse to skip leg day today

haha, i do this exercise with my arm weight and i feel my shit about to snap up

i would only ever use a barbell for the press(tm)

I snapped my shit up doing this, tore my labrum a couple years ago. Had to take 6 months off lifting, get surgery, wear a sling while it healed etc. and even now the shoulder doesn't feel quite the same. Fuck DB OHP and fuck ego lifting. I sure learned my lesson that day.

>Gym bro for god knows how long, but never done compounds
>Read on Veeky Forums I should do compounds
>Decide to do squats
>Never done them before, figure 100kg is a good place to start
>Don't wanna lift barefoot, so put on some flip flops
>Cargo shorts are uncomfortable
>Can't get back up
>Now I'm in hospital

Fuck you Veeky Forums, you never warned me about this stuff

I know the feel.

l5 S1 slipped disk and now disk issues in my neck.

I am on 300mg of Lyrica twice a day and I still have trouble lifting my arms above shoulder height.

85 lbs is pretty fuckin heavy dude, I would not be surprised if he could. Can you?
