Lifting srs for like three months, fucking around longer. I bench twice a week but I'm too fucking fat to bulk, so I'm just cutting down to 160lbs at 6ft. Currently 170lbs at like 17-18ish% bf. I've tried eating a 500 kcal surplus only on push days but I just. can't. fucking. move. weight. Everything is shooting up tho desu

why are squats so hard
230 fatty here. I don't have the willpower to do a decent cut, so I am mostly maintaining.
However, I have been back in the gym for only 6 months (3 year break) and recently got iliobitial band syndrome so squats have stalled for a month now
makes sense. I was coming up to 190 from skeleton 130
I fell from obese 240 to 165 at lowest, and was pulling these numbers at 200 before I quit the gym. Got fat, but at least my lifts are back where they were when I was fit. Long term plan is to go down to 200 again but I don't want lifts to fall

outside OHP what else you do to your shoulders? try some lateral raises, facepulls and seated presses with dbb
are you also hitting/isolating your triceps? tricep dips or close grip bench are a big help on the OHP
Right now I'm back to fullbody, so I alternate press and bench, 3 times a week.
I think I might do the one I'm not doing that day as assistance, to get some volume
I do suspect I've not put in enough work, should stop trying to make a new pr and fail and then another 2 3 rep sets, and instead put in some 5x5's or more
my lifts keep going up every week but since I'm also gaining weight I stay blue :(

Is there any real reason to worry about being symmetrical? I'm increasing my lifts linearly, and some happen to be better than others. It's not like I'm going to deliberately halt progress in one lift just to increase my symmetrical score, and I'm already increasing as fast as I can in the lifts that I'm behind on. Is this just mental masturbation?

You might be push-pressing on accident. Make sure you're not using your legs when you OHP
