Just a friendly reminder to be careful with your pl8's brehs

Yeah I’m afraid I’m gonna do also.

When I lift in my garage I usually do it barefoot and in my underwear

dropped the barbell on the middle of my foot once

That sounds really cozy tbqh

Get on my level pleb.

user I don't think your toe is gonna make it

It didn't.
That was over a year ago.

what does it look like now?

Fuck man, can you still squat?

i gagged just a little. good luck with the recovery friend

Sorry but you have girl feet

Like this.

Yeah, squats and diddles are fine.
It's running, jumping, and lateral movement that is more difficult.

OH SHIT

thoughts and prayers thoughts and prayers

I think it's just cause it's swollen dude here's the other one

...

LOL

so what the fuck happened? how did you achieve this?

Inb4 shitty Reddit tier screen cap with unnescary zoomed words and reaction faces from 2011.

I haven't even shown you guys the best picture.
It's likely to get me banned.

People have made penis jokes about it.

Accident at work.
My boot got caught under a rolling container and was ripped off my foot.
As it came off it degloved my big toe at the same time.

How is it living with a missing toe?
I always hear that toes are your bodys main stabilization tool for standing up/ walking in general

...

...

Did you sue?

Yeah looks normal here

>Accident at work.
>My boot got caught under a rolling container and was ripped off my foot.
>As it came off it degloved my big toe at the same time.
holy shit i hope you got millions of toebux for that s m h

Standing and walking slowly aren't really a problem if you have orthopedic insoles.
You kind of use the side of your foot a lot at first but then you'll slowly walk sort of normally.

It's worker's comp so yeah I'm trying to get money but it takes forever.
This happened in May of last year and I might get a settlement offer from the defense attorney in about another month or two.

>holy shit i hope you got millions of toebux for that s m h
Thanks user.
I hope so too.

>baby feet

Never gonna make it

Show the best picture, you tease.

See . Pls stop trying to give me more insecurities

Post tits

Alright babe.

>degloved
What a wonderfully innocent word.

WEW

Yeah it definitely doesn't do it justice.
It was more like RIP AND TEAR.

yeah "degloved" is the correct term here.

...

Did you go to the doctor immediately after it happened? If not would it have been possible to save the toe if you did?

>this
I fucking hate reddit they're all cock sucking faggots. (Include this in the screen cap)

Yeah I went to the hospital as soon as possible.
It was stitched back on as you saw in the first pic I posted but it immediately started dying.
I don't think there was any way to save it, it was crushed THEN torn off.
All the ligaments were torn off so really I wouldn't have had any function in it either way.

Please, lets keep this between anons.

Is it true that losing a toe makes it much harder to balance while walking

sorry user but this entire board is swimming with newfags, expect a screen cap on reddit within a day.

Not really.
For the first three months I would say so, but I'm ~16 months out from when it happened.
I don't walk as fast as I used to but I can hide my limp when I want to.

I won't seek it out.
Hopefully the next time I post about it I'll have received my settlement money and can give anons some insight into how gay worker's comp can be as well as answering foot questions.

Ive heard steel toed boots are more dangerous than safe. Were you wearing these?

Just that if heavy machinery falls on your foot, if it lands on a steel toecap, it will be more than enough to potentially bend the steel into your foot.

Yeah I was wearing $40 Walmart steel toes.
These motherfuckers had really long laces and like an idiot I didn't tuck in the loops into my shoe.
I didn't see it happen because I wasn't looking at my feet when it went under but I'm pretty sure one of my laces snagged onto a lock or brace and stopped my foot from moving.
>Just that if heavy machinery falls on your foot, if it lands on a steel toecap, it will be more than enough to potentially bend the steel into your foot.
I think this is sort or what happened.
I never saw the boot again after that day so I can't confirm whether the steel part caved in or not.

If a big forklift rolls over your steelcaps the cap will just slice them clean off

How bad did the degloving hurt? Was there a lot of blood? Did you scream? What did the paramedics do when they reached you? What compensation did you receive? Can you walk normally?
Sorry if some were answered anready, I only quickly looked at the pictures

*shower theme from hitchcock's psycho*

fucking closing this thread

Uhh
>How bad did the degloving hurt?
Fiery, unbearable nerve pain. Once the shock wears out it gets really spicy.
>Was there a lot of blood?
Yeah, this happened on the main deck of a cargo plane so the pilots got mad at me for bleeding everywhere top kek.
>Did you scream?
No, i kind of made the retarded "yelp!" because it took me by surprise.
>What did the paramedics do when they reached you?
I was driven to the emergency room where I sat and bled on their floor for thirty minutes because they had some non-english speakers to attend to first.
>What compensation did you receive?
I'm a few months out from another offer but the last settlement I rejected was for $100,000.
>Can you walk normally?
Mostly so, but I haven't ran or sprinted since then.

Sorry buddy, I am immune to it obviously.
I started off with the not-so-bad photos for a reason.

Oh wow didn't expect detailed replies, thanks.
Isn't there a way to add a prosthetic toe so that you can squat normally?

Prosthetics are expensive so insurance companies will usually reject such a treatment.
Besides, you can squat pretty normally without your big toe.
Try doing a bodyweight squat right now while pulling one of your big toes up.
If your form is good then you don't really use your toes unless it's to stop you from falling forward.

>$100,000.
s m h

i hope you can wring much more than that out of them man

This, holy shit I might accept that for a toe that wasn't my big toe, but losing your big toe is kinda a big deal

You'd be right, but this isn't a personal injury claim.
I'm not the first to have learned this but Worker's Compensation will never pay out what you truly deserve.
Also, that number is on the condition that I resign and waive medical stipulations.
If I want to keep working at my company and have them foot (huehue) my future medical bills then my sum is going to be a tenth of that.
It's also bullshit in that young people don't get a lot out of WC.
I was 23 when it happened but since I didn't put in the amount of work an old-timer has I won't get paid out as much either.
>tl:dr I hope so too.

AHHHHH

Is this in Australia? You should be able to wallop them over h&s failures if you lost your toe

Nah mate.
Commiefornia, USA.
I sent my case to a personal injury firm first but they recommended a worker's comp attorney instead.
I was kind of hoping to get millions from the Airliner I got hurt in but they thought otherwise.

Do you feel phantom pain? What does it feel like? Can you control it in any way?

You guys pretty much lead the world in suing people, I would have assumed you could probably get a lawyer from a vending machine at the hospital who would tort it up for you

Was removing the bone necessary? Wouldn't heal properly otherwise?

I don't, actually.
Though I tell my doctors I do so I can get more money out of my pain.

Worker's comp is a different story.
Since this happened at work, it falls under that category.
The retarded thing about it i that it is a no-fault claim, which is why there isn't any big money that comes out of it.

Yeah, the flesh surrounding it was dying and nearly gangrenous.
It never had a shot, all the tendons and ligaments were ripped off.
I wouldn't have function of it even if the flesh took.

Given that they are asking you to waive medical stipulations, I think you should definitely talk to a lawyer who specialises in this sort of thing

If an advanced prosthetic toe was somehow developed, would you get one?

Yeah, I have a Worker's Comp attorney.
Cali law says that he can't take more than 15% of your winnings so if he wants to get paid big then he has to have me win big.

If it was free then hell yeah.

>I was driven to the emergency room where I sat and bled on their floor for thirty minutes because they had some non-english speakers to attend to first.
Hm? What does this mean?

That was my attempt at not being a racist shitlord.
What I meant to say is that I live in a major city in California and as such, am afflicted with many "undocumented" people who cannot even speak english, crowd our emergency rooms.
They were there before me so I had to check my white privilege and wait til they were taken care of before I get to use services I actually pay for.

>tl;dr emergency room was busy because illegals

What did you drop on your toe? A neutron star?

What did those beanershits have going on with them that the medics had to fucking ignore the concept of emergency triage? A fucking papercut?

Something way lighter.
A 3000lb container ran over my boot and sucked it off my foot.

I was driven to the emergency room by one of my coworkers.
I was pretty calm when I entered (in a wheelchair, bleeding) so the receptionists(?) didn't really care I was there and had to do lot of 'splaing in Spanish to everyone else there.
All of them looked fine too but I guess the culture here in Cali is to go to the emergency room for any reason you deem necessary.

So nothing was wrong with those smelly beanershits?

This is similar to the story that my dad tells about the time he smashed his thumb with a hammer
Not the illegals part but whatever
>be user's dad fixing deck home alone
>one joist needs to be moved over a few inches
>hold beam in place and smash joist with a hammer to move it over
>crunch.wav
>look at hand, realise shit is quite fucked
>call ambulance, call mum and tell her what's happened
>she's freaking out, tell her to calm down
>fucking women
>get a cup of coffee and wait calmly for help to arrive
>paramedics arrive and have a look
>still calm as a Hindu cow
>put him in the ambulance to take him to hospital
>the second the doors close, pain worse than anything he's felt suddenly takes over and he almost blacks out
>next few hours are a blur
He chalks it up to adrenaline, thumb is still fucked, nail is all curled up and dead looking, and he can't feel anything in it, had to take ages off being a cop, he used his dead thumb to clear ice off our windscreen heaps while we were in Austria a few years ago kek

I don't know, it's not like I had time to ask them.
Though usually, they are there for the dumbest reasons, so I understand fully why everyone hates going there.
Such is life in a "sanctuary city".

Also, apologies if my replies and spelling are getting bad.
I've started drinking and it shows.

Yeah, adrenaline and shock are a hell of a drug.
Good on him to do funny stuff with it though.
I do it too.

You have some long fucking toes.

Guess this is pretty common for dumbasses like me lol. 45lb plate from shoulder height. Severe crush injury, fractured bone and 7 stitches, looked down and I was bleeding through my tennis shoe. Doctor said I might not ever have a toenail again but it's trying to grow back just looks deformed. New gym that had thin plates rims that I wasn't used to handling.

forgot pic

Had*

You have a pretty fat foot m8

Ouch.
how long ago was this?
You okay now?

This was like 4 months ago. It was fucking scary when it happened because my toe was almost as flat as a pancake. I wish I had a picture, but after he removed the toe nail my toe looked like ground beef. I was back to squatting in 2 months after the bone fully healed. Toe is completely normal except the nail bed is more narrow and hasn't grown out yet. Worst part was the following 2-3 weeks, it would ooze blood and pus all day, and you basically have to clean it even though it's tender and painful. I still fucking hate the plates at my gym, they're so thin and the rim is like a half inch, you pretty much have to use two hands for each pl8 instead of grabbing the top of 2 like I'm used to.

>Worst part was the following 2-3 weeks, it would ooze blood and pus all day, and you basically have to clean it even though it's tender and painful.
Yeah, I had to deal with that when my toe got reattached.
Cleaning it every day and removing the bloodied dressings was as you said, tender and painful.
Your gym has some pretty weird pl8s though.
More like discs if they're that thin.

F

Fuck ...

Im sorry my man

Ayy lmao good shit user.
I'm still here.

...

god damn

hope you get well my man

Thanks, user.
I've been working to make my foot great again™.

I always make sure my feet are never under the plates when I move or carry them.

I've dropped a 25 lber on my toe from about 2.5 ft off the ground and a 5 lber again from the same height. Both times from the bench press. I always get distrated and pull off the first plate forgetting that there's another one infront of it. No permanent damage of course.

I'd lick and suck your cute toes my man
No homo of course

why don't you make yourself a fake toe-end? pretty sure just a cube of potato would do the job fine, make sure to change it daily though

I recall /diy/ once making a guy (or just sending him the printable model) a simple 3d-printed prosthetic. No idea how you'd get a DIY toe to stay on, though.
