Is there any real benefit to browsing boards like r9k, pol or int?

Veeky Forums is shitty in general. If you try other sites you'll see just how bad this place is. I don't think the users are any better or worse here, more the way the software was designed. The site does attract interesting and knowledgeable users from time to time but they all leave eventually.

Veeky Forums for example - you can learn everything you need to know in a week if you're motivated, a month if you just absorb it. After that it's all worthless shitposting.

I've been here since 2011, and while it is the singular most entertaining and addicting website I've ever browsed, it is also the most unhealthy and negative place in the world.
Feels threads can cathartic, but they are also for just wallowing in bad feels. Body dysmorphia runs rampant, every other thread is telling you it's impossible to make it if you have "x genetic factor". All the positive aspects of this board have faded away. I've seen maybe one or two really uplifting or positive things happen here in the last 2 years. Just get your info from another forum, this place is a sad pile of shit.

/pol/ is a shithole full of extremists. I genuinley become more racist at the times I lurk /pol/ frequently. It used to be handy to talk to people about learning their language or where to visit in their country but now /bant/ exists so it's just a shithole.
