He counts the weight of the bar

>he counts the weight of the bar
>he counts the weight on both sides of the bar

Never gonna make it

Then what do I count??

Do you count your arms motherfucker? No. Then why the fuck would you count the bar?

when you're really weak like I am 110 pounds including barbell sounds a lot better than ~75 pounds without

>not taking into account the rotation of the earth, air currents, geological plate movements, and the moon's gravity near his gym when he lifts

hes just kidding

If you have a barbell with 2 45s on each side, you're lifting 90 pounds.

The weight on one side of the bar, that's why 1pl8 is a 45 each side, its still only 1 plate.

>this guy doesn't include air resistance in his weight calculations

There’s no reasoning with meathead logic.

Not memeing I don't get this, why don't you count the bar? You wouldn't say if you benched the bar that you bench 0 pounds would you? At least this is how I learned to count them

do you count your bodyweight if you do pullups? no i didn't think so

might aswell count the EZ-bar for curls while curling

Really? My whole life is a lie, I was just so happy I hit 2pl8s benchpressing 4 sets of 5 reps.

Am I a 1pl8 manlet then? 50kg total

1pl8 is 60kg m8

You count the bar...you're being memed on

Yeah you do dipshit because that's what your lifting

Rip, forgot my barbell is 10kg instead of the 20kg standard. Extra dyel manlet then

Did you really think 2 plates was 135lbs?
Am I being Meme'd?

Why do people bother with this shitty bait? If you're lifting a 45lb bar with a 45lb plate on each side, you're lifting 135, not 90. You can't un-lift a 45 fucking pound bar

>Counts bar
>Really weak
Hmm I wonder why

Dyel detected

/nevergonnamakeit/

>that guy who's never heard of Newton's 3rd law

You count your progress as a boolean data set.

Whenever I talk to people IRL about it they always tell me to include bar weight but then I come here and you people tell me to not include the bar weight. I never know what to do...

I'm not dyel I can bench 115 you fucking fatass. I bet you probably fell for the as meme so you guys make sure to make fun of everyone that isn't fat. Go fuck yourselves

Its a meme, just like the tipping the receptionist. You're lifting the bar so count it.

if you tape two bars together, are you allowed to include the weight of the second bar?

The best part about the counting the bar meme is that it honestly doesn't matter. Your lifts are progressing or they aren't, the actual number you use to measure that progress in doesn't matter to your muscles. Are you a competing powerfatter or something?

>115
how much is that if you act like an actual man and don't count the bar?

...

>not counting the bar
never got this. it's not like that 45 pounds disappears.

I usually just say some awkard shit like 'I squat 195 for 4 sets of 10, but that's only if you count the bar. I never know if I'm supposed to do that.'

I'm never gonna make those social gains at this point.

Smith machines bars weigh normally 15lbs so 100lbs which is still alot so I'm not concerned

>Smith Machine

How many times a week do you set off the Lunk Alarm though?

I count weight in multiples of pl8s. ex: I currently bench 1.75 pl8

>smith machine
Ok user now you are taking it too far.

What the fuck is a lunk alarm? I go to gold's gym and there's no lunk alarm

When someone says they bench two plates they are talking about just the weight on one side of the bar. When they say they bench 225 they are talking about all four plates total and the bar.

If they don't have a bench, it's not a real gym.

If they have a bench and you don't use it, you're a retarded faggot who's never gonna make it.

>you're a retarded faggot who's never gonna make it.
>implying you've "made It
I bet you look like shit

Because I don't have motor functions in the barbell

Should we count the weight of all our cocks in your moms mouth?

Memes aside, I'm concerned with what constitutes half or other fraction plates. For example 1pl8 is 60kg (20+20+20) so is 1.5kg 90kg (60*1.5) or 80kg (30+30+20)? I'm defiantly not memeing, anybody know?

People usually don't bother, but when they do it's ignoring bar weight. So 1.5 is 80, 2.5 is 120 and so on.

1pl8 = barbell (20kg) + x2 20kg plates = 60kg
2pl8s = barbell (20kg) + x4 20kg plates = 100kg
3pl8s = barbel (20kg) + x6 20kg plates = 140kg

Get your memes straight user

WHAT IF

...

...

the barbell is only 17,5kg?

Then you add 2.5 extra kg and you already reached your pl8s goal

But I do both of those

Yes but I was asking about 1.5pl8s and 2.5pl8s, you dip.

AHAHAHA what a funny joke OP! this is the 89th time i've heard this joke, which is also the number of men who have fucked your mum this week

"Hey bro how much do you bench?"
>Yes.

so i bench exactly 0 kg's.... Great.

ITT: Autistic outbreak

I only put weights on one side of the bar tho

what do?

U dont count the weight of the machine so why would you count the weight of the barbell?

>he doesn't take altitude into account

wow you manlets

>didn't count the weight of the bar for years cause i'm dumb

Dude! Fricken epic xD !!

I love obscuritarian lifting terminology

>EZ bar
>not wavy barbell
Not gonna make it

Yeah? How much does the bar weigh when you do pull ups?

>metric plates
3pl8 is 315lbs/142.9kg.

>guy asks me how many Joules was that deadlift
>can't answer him
Fuark bros, I need to hit the library

>doesnt merely normalize these variables using elevated consciousness so they are the same anywhere he works out

>Not being one with the barbell
Never ever gonna make it

>Ill take things I never thought Id have to explain on a fitness forum for 500

Not all bars are 45 pounds, so just saying the total is an easy way to quickly say yeah the bar I lifted was an olympic bar, so it was 45 pounds and then I lifted 45 pounds on each side.

I count my bodyweight when I do pullups

Exactly. You could the added weight, but not the bar.

>not just stacking barbells infinitely on top of each other when you bench instead of using weights

I count exclusively using the weight of the bar
For example, I OHP 135lbs, aka 3bar

>counting the bodyweight with calisthenics
Nobody is that stupid, user.

>You wouldn't say if you benched the bar that you bench 0 pounds would you?
>there are people on Veeky Forums so weak that they'll literally brag about lifting nothing

underrated

your blessings

TIL when you lift a barbell with no plates you're lifting 0kg

>Imperial system
Welcome to the dark ages

>W = B + 2(xP)

to use your example of 1.5pl8;
W=20 + 2(1.5*20)
W=20 + 2(30)
W=20 + 60
W=80

*complicates your equation to keep normies confused

> W/4 -12 = 4(B + √(2(xP))^2) - (3*4)

IF NORMIES UNDERSTAND FITNESS WHO WILL BUY THE SUPPLEMENTS AND PERSONAL TRANERS

so a 4 plate dl is really 380kg?

>W = B + 2(xP)
P is a constant 20 so you could simplify your equation to
>W = B + x40 for kilos
or
>W = B + x90 for pounds

> W/4 -12 = 4(B + √(2(xP))^2) - (3*4)
your equation is wrong, should be:
> 4W -12 = 4(B + √(2(xP))^2) - (3*4)

He's joking around

Everything on Veeky Forums should, from now on be measured in Pl8 (β)

To convert Kg to β
>(W - 20)/40 = β
To convert Lbs to β
>(W - 20)/90 = β

For example an user who can bench only the bar;
>(20-20)/90 = β
>0/90 = β
>0= β

>Tfw when the bar really does weight nothing

>To convert Lbs to β
>>(W - 20)/90 = β

fug. should be W - 45
