Whenever I squat heavy my squats end up looking like this

Whenever I squat heavy my squats end up looking like this.

How do I fix this?

sit back more with your hips

lower the weight you weak faggot

Don't squat too heavy, make sure your form is correct first.

yea but he's trying to lower it in a vertical plane, not by leaning forward

stretch your hip flexors

Depends on how bad it is. If it's a PR of course your form is going to breakdown

I had this issue.
>put bar high as possible on traps
>get squat shoes
>sit in toddler squat position for 2 minutes before you squat(only stretch you need desu)
>do NOT sit back, break at your knees and control your descent
>brace core before every rep
>drop the weight if need be(will probably need to)

Gratz the issue is now fixed

You have weak quads. Push your upper back hard and backwards into the bar
And work on your quad strength

>>sit in toddler squat position for 2 minutes before you squat(only stretch you need desu)

This.

What also helps: Goblet squats where you make sure the dumbbell doesn't lean off your chest, where if it does it means you're leaning too far forward.

try standing with a small plate under each heel

This guy is the only guy that knows what he's talking about. OP you have a muscular imbalance, your glutes and hammies are much more developed and much stronger than your quads. So when you start struggling with the weight your body moves you into the most advantageous position for it to move the most weight. Strengthen your quads and upper back and you'll take care of it.

Why do i lean kinda forward when squatting?
I nearly finish on the tip of my toes when it gets hard.
I also squat highbar and i am 6'3, should i switch to lowbar?

>only muscles that are almost completely contracted in that position
>better stretch them
ffs Veeky Forums

>Toe up to a wall.
>Spread your arms out like Jesus
>Squat ATG

The wall will correct your form.

Is this why my deadlift is so far ahead of my squat?

Strengthen your abs.

this plus front squats will teach you how to stay straight. Used to good morning a lot but working on keeping myself upright helped and fuck me if I don't feel it in my quads. It's a beautiful battle getting the weight up without collapsing forward.

Stop watching porn

weak quads, do front squat, hip belt squat, leg press, etc. for more quad volume

>small plate under each heel
DO NOT do this
>get squat shoes
>sit in toddler squat position for 2 minutes before you squat
Do THIS

Front squats, be in a more upright position

*break down

I dont even count the lifts where my form breaks down that hard as PRs.

Is there carryover from front squat to back squat? My ATG back squats have stalled (novice on SS except doing high bar deep squats instead of powerlifting squats), I'm thinking of switching to front for a while. I'm thinking it will suffice for a deload because my front squat is ~50lb lighter anyway.

reduce weight until you can squat with good form. congratulations you found your working weight

you're doing it right

Look up as you squat

I was told I was being more back and maybe hamstring reliant, so I added front squats and leg press

Assuming you can descend with a vertical bar path just fine, excessive lean can also be caused by weak quads. Leaning forward on the ascent can be your body attempting to cheat your hips up and legs into extension by playing with levers. Putting the bar forward of your center of gravity by leaning forward means you basically rotate your hips up instead of driving them up along with the bar. Once your legs are extended, you use your hamstrings to extend your back like in a good morning. I struggle with this myself.

Do some accessory work on your quads to strengthen them. Front squats work. Leg press works great. Even leg extensions will do.

>falling for the squat shoe jew

Pic related is arnie, nothing wrong with just putting your heels on something to elevate them

A) paused squats
B) stronger quads
C) most important, just don't let it happen, grind it out and keep your back angle even when it's hard

YOUR QUADRICEPS ARE TOO WEAK. STRENGTHEN YOUR QUADRICEPS.

Drop weight, fix form.
If you can't do the weight in proper form you shouldn't do it.

front squats should be around 70% of your working weight/5RM of your back squat

Holy shit, this fucking thread

most correct
correct
partially correct

Without a form video it's tough to tell exactly what the issue is. The biggest areas to work on are as follows:
>External rotation at the hip
Warm up your glutes better before squatting in order to ensure they're being properly recruited. This creates torque and stability at the hip.
>Quad recruitment / quad strength
Your quads are either weak or are not being correctly recruited. They will have their strongest response in deep knee flexion and may need you to actively focus on recruiting them while you're adjusting your form.
>Balance
Ensure you're keeping your balance midfoot throughout the squat.
>Ankle dorsiflexion
Always work on ankle dorsiflexion.

Like many said your quads are week, compared to your glutes & hamstrings.

But also as important, your shoulders are probably too tight.

Do some front squats to build your quads and lots of shoulder dislocators and stretching. You'll have to research what kinds of stretching. I have the same shoulder problem and I'm not sure how to increase the range of motion of my shoulders myself.

Front squat carries over to highbar backsquat and even deadlift. About 90% of my squating is front squat (bad back). If I do front squats for six months and go from 6x3 at 315 to 6x3 at 350, I'll be able to do 6x5 highbar back squat at 375 to 400 lbs without directly training back squat in those six months.

I stopped deadlifting for a year and just did RDL, FS, hypers, and ham curls and my deadlift went up 100lbs with no direct training.

How often do you boys squat?

I used to front squat and squat once a week on seperate days now I do regular squats twice a week

That sounds fucking stupid, why do that when you can get shoes for a more natural position and that wont possibly move around?
plus they're great for olympic lifts

How do I strengthen my quads?

best advice

>knees can't go past your toes
God you're retarded

Have you tried bending your knees?
