Is it actually possible to fuck up your hormones/metabolism from being on a severe deficit for extended periods?

>lost 90 pounds in a year
>been stuck at the same weight for 4 months
>about 2 months ago I figured maybe my counting was slightly off and perhaps that’s why I wasn’t losing weight
>decided to throw in running 15-20 miles a week in addition to my usual workouts 5 days a week
>did not start eating more with the additional running

What is the problem? Surely if I truly was off on my counting the extra 4-600 calories on my running days would have offset any errors on my part and I would have started losing again. I don’t really think I have an issue counting calories since it worked so well for such a long period of time for me. I just can’t wrap my head around why I am not losing weight. Also I am only shitting like once every 3-4 days now that I’m running, no idea if that’s related.

too much activity and staying at a caloric deficit for too long have pushed your cortisol levels through the roof, and your metabolic rate is probably now a whole lot slower than a calculator will make it out to be - there's a huge difference between someone who weighs 210lbs and someone who dieted down to 210lbs over a long period of time

take a break, slowly ramp up to maintenance calories (calculated TDEE - 10% to account for slowdown), stay at maintenance for 3 months

you lost 90lbs in one go, that's a fuckload of weight and a long time to be in a deficit

and yes, eating less will still obviously fucking work and make him lose weight, but it's a lot smarter to just take a step back and maintain instead of running his head into a wall over and over again

Also once every 3 days or so is not abnormal with a large deficit.

Then mix it up and stop IF. Eat regular healthy meals throughout the day for a month and see if things change. As for shitting, whats normal for you is what youre used to doing. If that changes then something isn't right. For example. I know this chick who shits 1-2 times a week max. She spoke to a specialist about it and he said it was fine if thats what normal for her. If she stopped shitting everyday then went to 1-2 times a week that would be concerning.
