>m-muh degree in nutrition

what is that

It's where people learn about everything from food to protein synthesis and other nutrition related subjects

What even makes you think you have an understanding in health and fitness?

It is ok guys, it isn't like this is your fault or anything.
Not coming from STEM.

Can someone explain to a non american how does american education works?
lets say i want to be an mechanical engineer and i just finished highschool, what do i do now?

If I have a kinesiology degree but it's a BS does that count?

cgi

Apply to a uni with an engineering program. Get rejected if you aren't black or Hispanic with awful SAT score. Apply to your second option. Rinse and repeat until you've been accepted. Take a small loan of 100000 to pay for the next four years of schooling.

i've a msc in computer science, i've never been athletic (i was like 20% bf, only recently i'm working to improve that) but i'm only 6'...
should i kms?

generic engineering program or a specific one?
are public unis shit?

>how american education works.
it doesn't

I'm actually canadian but our system generally works the same way, minus taking the SAT's.

Yeah you would be applying to a generic engineering program, there is also a generic "science" program. Pretty much all of the faculties start you in a non-specified field of study. If you went to a decent highschool, you are probably going to just be reviewing things you've already learned in your first year, essentially wasting your time and about 8000$ (that's if you still live at home and go to a local university).

I don't know about the US but our unis are all semi-public. They keep up the facade of being private institutions (and charge accordingly) but they get millions of dollars from the government to prop up their shitty business practices. Usually grant money is pissed away on almost totally useless shit, or is spent renovating things that absolutely did not need renovation.

Pretty much all my friends, including me, are :

>handsome, 6+ foot tall
>studying some sort of engineering (I'm the only one doing electrical, full of nerds unfortunately)
>have hot gfs
>play team sports
>lift regularly
>sociable

The only others are studying law and accounting, both top of their classes interning with big 4 firms

I am 6'2, fit, study computer science and physics.
Doesnt help me being not depressed lol

>6'4"
>liftan 7 years, athletic
>physics masterrace
where's my free gf reee

I work as an American graduate assistant. Today I did more good for society than any of you greedy people will in a lifetime. Want to know something amazing? I can feel it in my HEART.

I started work at 5:00AM today. I was able to perform 10 tissue culture assays, purify three proteins, test 7 pre-clinical drugs, prepare 50L of bacterial media, AND write half of a research grant application today. I find problems in experimental design that paid professionals often miss. Even if it's helping the post-doc who is supposed to know what he's doing, I never hesitate for the good of science.

I get paid $18k/yr, USD. Yeah, laugh all you want, you trade school jerks. "Muh opportunity cost", big deal. So you make $60k/yr plumbing from 18-30 while I break even with nothing to my name after undergrad loans are considered. WHO FUCKING CARES. Once I graduate, and then finish my post-doc at 35, I'll be able to find a job ANYWHERE IN THE FIELD. Do you know what the median wage is for biotech researchers in the Bay Area? 80-fucking-thousand dollars a year. You'll never have a salary like that, and certainly not living in such a nice area. That's not even considering all the Numeraire I earn.

And the hilarious thing is you guys think it's all about money. The money is only secondary. Do you have any idea what an honor and privilege it is to work in Dr. Blaustein's lab? I'd do it for free if I had to. There is nothing more rewarding than knowing you're playing a part in curing cancer.

...

>STEM degree
>fit
>only 6'0"

I will never make it...

So cute.

>80k at 35

and he thinks that's good kek

Troll thread aside, Veeky Forums will always mostly be for losers. Even the guys here that have engineering careers do mundane nerd stuff. It’s never a cool engineering job like designing roller coasters or working as a Disney Imagineer or something.

80k is great at 35, just not in the Bay Area.

Cool story. I started working at a casino straight out of high school then transferred to card dealing as soon as I turned 21, makes me 60k a year. Anything less than 100k honestly isn't worth the effort if you have to spend dozens of years of your life going to school for it and paying it off.

How much of that 60k is your base pay and how much is tips? A casino job sounds pretty dope.

>actually falling for the STEM meme
Christ OP how retarded are you? Have fun competing with millions of pajeets and chinks who will always be superior students/employees thanks to their fucked up work ethic

Those are literally the only degrees besides accounting, business, law, medicine, that have any value in the modern world. Name another option

>t. eurocuck

work at a real american company like Tesla or SpaceX and pajeets wont be your competition. anyone who isnt an american citizen gets denied by SpaceX and based Musk because he knows americans are superior. source, I work for SpaceX
