You aren't doing anybody any favors by getting walked all over. Being nice would be respecting them enough to let them know where your line is and give them the benefit of knowing what you think and feel about whatever situation.

Just be a normal human being, don't be too nice, don't be a little bitch, don't worry yourself about others opinion of you etc. Just be you.

Read "Models" by Mark Manson, it's a great book. I originally read it to improve my interaction with women but desu it was an even better self-help book which really helped me shore up a lot of insecurities and things that maybe me the beta I once was.

When you get your first guitar, you don't automatically know how to play.

You will improve over time.

Seconding this. Models is definitely a better self-help book than it is a pickup book.

I know they're basically meme-tier but I also recommend Robert Greene's books.
