dude, I'm from one of these countries so I think I know my history. I wasn't saying that the local population loved Germans, far from that. There just wasn't any armed resistance because the people knew what the Soviets are capable of.
The main goal (no matter how naive it sounds) was that to keep the Red Army from occupying the Baltics again.
We were hoping for the Brits and Americans to give us the helping hand..not knowing they had sold us (and the rest of the Eastern Europe) to Stalin.
If the Anglos had decided to launch a landing on the coast of Baltics the people (and the army units) would have turned their weapons against the Nazis

God the british and americans were so fucking soft. The western allies were never serious about defeating nazi germany, they would have rather seen the soviets wiped off the face of the earth than put forth an effort to confront these people. It's almost like d-day was more about making sure the soviets didn't have ALL of mainland europe to themselves rather than a desire to combat the nazis.
