don't worry about that
it's not about where you start its about where you go

Whatever you can lift with good form.

who fucking cares you're a beginner

bare bar so you can work on your form first

nope

if you have an athletic or manual labor background and are capable of squatting 285 your first day (real numbers from a friend of mine), working with an empty bar will not improve your form

follow the starting strength recommendation, start at a weight that causes bar speed to decrease a little

>athletic or manual labor background
Look at the OP, user. The picture in it alone should tell you enough about the OP himself.

good point

he should start with a broomstick

1/2/3/4
just take your bodyweight and try to ohp that
double your bw and try to bench that
triple your bw and try to squat that
quadruple your bw and try to deadlift that
i'm not there yet cuz i've only been lifting for 10 weeks but i will get there eventually.

deadlift:70kg
bench: 40kg
squat: 80kg

it's starting weight he said
meaning when you first set foot in the gym

>285 starting squat
this has never happened and you are very well aware of it

45 lbs for squat, bench, ohp
95 lbs for deadlift

>first day in the gym
>boy I sure am ready to get healthier and enjoy myself
>that user on Veeky Forums seemed pretty confident, better follow his advice
>try to to bench 238 kgs
>fucking die

it absolutely did and one day you're going to learn just how crazy the genetic lottery really is

try not to flush yourself down the toilet

>not using bumpers

>benching in the squat rack
user...

>benching in a power rack

oh you sweet sweet child
you have to learn gym rules

not him but how do you not die if you're benching without a spotter?

you fucking roll is you fail
also you do it on a bench press

You just die, user. Death is a fair punishment for not being able to finish your reps.

if*

lost a gymbro like that

bench: 135
squat: 175
deads: 250
of course these would only be possible for a beginner if they have a background in manual labor or sports

I'd say, depending on what you're comfortable with, try these numbers for 10 reps, if you feel like you can do more, increase it by 5 lbs until the last couple reps are tough. If you can't do 10, decrease by 5 lbs until you can.
>Bench: 95lbs
>Squat: 115lbs
>Deadlift: 1pl8 ; 135 lbs
>Overhead press: 65lbs
>Pendlay Row: 95lbs
These will vary depending on your strength level, but if you're a beginner, focus on learning the compound movements. Watch your form in the mirror, ask for spots, warm up properly, listen to your body. Remember that lifting is you vs. you, not you vs. the rest of the gym. Don't ego-lift.

1/2/3/4

Wow could you care about a less important thing? Who gives a fuck what you start at.

fpbp

All these people giving this guy shit but, if the gym is empty and you can't find someone nearby to spot you and there's a few squat racks empty, of course do this. It's better than guillotining your head off.

why are you putting the bar over your neck
it's supposed to be at nipple level

>Not being motivated by the threat of death while benching

Not gonna make it desu

...

trying to rerack when your arms aren't locked out
