Everyone is different. You may be able to handle it once a week. It may be once a month. You just have to see what works for you. I don't cheat until i stall for a two weeks. I'll go crazy on a Saturday and then get back in a normal routine on Sunday, and come Monday morning weigh in I'll be down 2-3lbs. Figure out what works for you and go with it, just don't get carried away.

I wasn't even over 20% bodyfat and I've cut like 15 lbs over the last few months just by adding in a few days of running a week and eating a whole food diet in general. I don't count calories or protein macros and my lifts have still been going up while losing weight.

You should try intermittent fasting my dude. Not even meming. Only time i've seen succesfull weightloss is now im on IF. Basicly i just skip breakfast, start eating at around noon and stop eating at 8. Sometimes i'm kinda hungry by 11.00 but during my feeding window i have a hard time even reaching 2k calories. Ate two pancakes yesterday after i hit my macros just becaus i was gonna be 350 kcal under my goal. Still had 100 kcal left. Eating one big meal around noon, some substantial snacks a few hours later and a largeish meal around 19:30 keeps me feeling full most of the day. Hell of a lot better than 6 small meals troughout the day.

But regardless, cheat days work because one day isn't enough to shape your body. My personal experience is that after 48h (cheat day+1 day) you're back to pre-cheat weight.

This means you lose weight five days a week, the two other days kind of "cancel" each other out.

You're beter off losing weight five days a week for six month, than 7/7 and falling off the train after 2 monthss. And cheat day definitely help on the psychological side, keeping on track on the long term.

>fast for 36 hours after

That's it. Eat the meal pay the fast toll! The 36 hour fast + exercise for the day cancels it out entirely and then some.

Worked for me. I went from 300lb to 140lbs and had a cheat day every sunday and ate 4-8k calories.

Whilst I was in the Navy, on deployments I would eat one big meal for dinner daily all week long until Sundays. Sundays were the days I ate like a goddamn animal, im talking around 4000-5000 calories throughout the day. I would also lift an hour a day, as well as do cardio for an hour a day, plus work 12+ hrs. Would lean out and still have plenty of energy to live life.

Yeah I would lift 1 hr during lunch, then 1hr of cardio after work. Usual working day was from 6am - 8-9PM. Going up and down ladderwells and carry shit (tools, etc) around all day.

At first it sucks, but when you get used to that one meal it gets easier. If i ate 3 meals I would feel sluggish all day working. I was also making gains in the gym too. Overall I felt extremely healthy and my stamina was through the roof

Say your TDEE is 2000 calories. x7 = 14,000 per week.

So you eat at 1500 calories. 500 deficit x7 = 3500, which would make you lose 1 pound per week, a weekly total caloric intake of 10,500.

So one cheat day of 6000 calories, and it becomes 6x1500, + 6000, = 15,000 calories for the week.

So, take your normal maintenance calories, 14,000, subtract the 15,000 calories you'd eat in a week with a cheat day, and you get 7000. So just like that, you've DOUBLED your calorie deficit, and are now losing TWO pounds per week!

I have lost so much weight during my life, because I have a fucked up relationship with food and am basically either chubby or auschwitz at any given year. Here is what I have to say: you can have a single day of doing whatever you want. Even 5k calories. You need to fast the next day though. I usually "fast" on 100-200 calories from coffee since I hate it black. I always lose at least 2lb per week while doing that. HOWEVER, if you're cutting because you're fat, and not as a usual bodybuilding routine, you should avoid binge eating, you only support the problem that got you fat to begin with. Instead, have a cheat meal at a nice place, or cook something good. Plan ahead for it, expect it, but don't pig out all day.
