Weightlifting master race here. Today I OHP'd 1pl8 for 5 reps, multiple sets. To all the Veeky Forumsizens saying they can't even 1rm 1pl8, try weightlifting. We're all gonna make it brehs.

I recently hit 70kg for reps but I've torn my rotator cuff
YOU CAN HAVE IT ALL
MY EMPIRE OF DIRT

a thread full of the master race ladies and gentleman

>weightlifting here
>only ohps 1pl8
so im guessing your snatch is about the same and your clean and jerk is 80

Tfw hit a pr of 170 1x4 at a rpe Of 9. I think I might just make it to 225.

If your brainlet calculations were correct, Klokov would be repping out ohps at 200kg for 5.

Posting info on inctressing ohp

im implying youre a fucking noob and shouldnt be calling yourself a weightlifter

205x2
I can taste 2pl8s butthole, it's so close.

well considering you don't know me, you aren't qualified to make that judgement.

its a perfect time to book a ticket to snap city

i know you are bragging about a 1pl8 ohp

you are a noob

That's just rude user. Why would you say that.
Good job a 200+ press is great

I guarantee you can't ohp 1pl8 or you wouldn't be so bitter and pathetic enough to bring people down for being proud of reaching a milestone, you sad little cunt

>PR
>RPE of 9
why do retards love quantifying RPE so much

>bragging
you're probably not even a weightlifter yourself.

>/R/eddit spacing
fuck outta here faggot

you're probably some fat fuck who uses leg drive to ohp big weight and thinks he's better than people. Sad.

shut

the

fuck

up

you

autistic

faggot

dyel

edgy

wow look at the little redditor go

I OHP with dumbbells. I have a wrist injury which leaves my right hand poorly aligned with my right one so if I use a barbell, I start all wonky and swing around over the place.

I now do 55 lbs in both hands standing. Would you say 65 pounds in both hands standing is equivalent to 1 plate?

We've got a real salty dog here, folks

No DB OHP is much harder. 65s each hand would be equivalent to about 160 barbell

pressing 65 dumbells is probably even harder than 1 plate though, because dumbells require a lot stabilization compared to a bar.

i can jerk more than you squat so no

no shit pressing 65 dumbbells is harder that's like 32 dumbbells per hand

>salty dog
are you some hick brought up in a trailer?

>doesn't even know the dude's squat
Real internet tough guy, eh? If you are such a great weightlifter, why don't you post proof.

65 in each hand.

pretty that'd be 130 dumbbells

boogie, pls go

Lol

>pressing barefoot
like it's really not an issue but based on this gym this guy has to have oly shoes right? why not use them?

That could be anything, an ohp, push press, power jerk, or regular jerk.

they were in a bag that was in a different place
yea it was actually klokov press and then i stood up

what the fuck?

ohp'ing 1pl8 for 5 is a personal accomplishment, not an accomplishment that the public should or needs to acknowledge in any way.

It's entirely feasible for a 180 lbs male to achieve that kind of press within 4 months of consistent training. Obviously, it's a great personal milestone, but you shouldn't be giving people shit or acting big just because you did it.

Being stronger than untrained normiefag is not remarkable in any way.

uhh he's got socks on user.

you should be a strength coach if u can get a normie to 1pl8 in 4 months.

congrats OP, I'm at 52.5KG atm. looking for some fractional plates to ease up to 60KG/1pl8

>reddit spacing
jew shill stop forcing this gay meme

1pl8 for 5 in 4 months? Depends on where you start. No way in hell you're going from a 45-60lb press to a 135x5 press on fucking beginner gains.

this was a worthless post

it's not a linear calculation at higher weights, but you'd know
that if you actaully lifter

>forcing
>meme
yeah, no.

Not an oly guy.
But i hit 1 pl8 press for sets of 5 too.
What i did was strict press twice a week and pin press twice as well, all on different days.
Just do 4x6 for what ever.

I did and started at like 30kg for 5 reps or something. Never lifted before

Nice thread lol

nice post lol

Hit 185 for 4 reps a couple days ago.
>young 20's dude comes up to my lifting bro and I
>tells me that I "OHP more than most people squat
>rest of workout is ezpz
I'm ok with this. Once I can hit 225 for 3 I'll be happy.

Did you know that of you’re not a piece of shit you congratulate people and are happy for them when they make personal accomplishments. Never met anyone who downplays others accomplishments because they’re not that good who wasn’t just an insecure little bitch.

GUYS WHAT THE FUCK ALL I WANT ARE BIG SHOULDERS AND MY 1PM OHP IS LITERALLY AT 125LBS
I OHP OFTEN
TRIED LOW WEIGHT HIGH VOLUME WND VICE VERSA
I DO 7000000 LATERAL RAISES
SOMEBODY PLEASE END MY SUFFERING

I'd bet some money that you have weak tri's. How much do ya bench? French Press?

OHP porn right here: youtube.com/watch?v=9Yck7-lMack

OP here. The dude you were replying to was not me, and I think you were getting us mixed up. But anyway, I wasn't giving anyone shit, or acting big, I was merely suggesting weightlifting as a way of acquiring big strength gains.

I know its not exactly linear, a 60kg ohp does not signify a 60kg snatch.

I'm sure it was. Do you also have a 200kg snatch, but don't compete because its not worth your time?

220 snatch actually but yea im too busy with work to do competitions

Underrated.

Should I focus on using free weights more? I tend to favor barbell lifts when possible.

>challenge
>dead stops between reps
How is that a challenge? That's how I always do it

my nigga

92 kg here
been doing a shitload of volume these past few weeks, then i'll do some high intensity doubles and triples
if all goes well i should manage 2pl8 when i try maxing

I'm half way to 1 plate OHP and I've been lifting for two months. What the fuck.

Any tips on OHP? My lower back really fucking hurts when I go 35#.

Question for all you big ohp fans: why isn't push pressing more popular? The big 3 all involve leg drive (yes even bench) so why do we keep pressing strict?

Push press takes away too much from shoulders. You're not hopping up when bench pressing just using your legs to support some weight. you do the same with OHP. And you have to contract your ass then pressing so you are defiantly using legs when OHPing.
Seated OHP would use less or no leg drive

Freindly reminder that if you
>use any sort of layback
>hip drahve
>bounce the bar at the bottom without a pause
You are ego lifting and getting zero gains and slowly punching your ticket to snab city.
Strict Press or nothing.

you cheat yourself with shit form. bet your bench is sub 100 kg as well, and then you wonder why people who actually strict press 1pl8 can bench over 2

I also hit 1pl8 OHP before any of the other milestone, but then progress on the lift slowed down remarkably.

I could bench 105 kg by the time I hit a 60 kg STRICT press. The difference is that I use actual strict form. Though, I'd say your bench should be anywhere between 90-110 kg at the point you can press 1pl8, bench below that and it's a given lmaoshitform. Usually a good way to filter out the egolifting e-statters in stat threads

what increments should I do?

Its not our fault you have shit shoulders.

it's more likely that you cheat yourself than that I'd have shit shoulders. My press is 1.5pl8 strict, 2pl8 push and I bench 3pl8. I mainly train overhead movements, the bench is a side thing I do occasionally

>likely that you cheat yourself
No, I've filmed my form.

>complains about "egolifting e-statters"
Shits out bunch of stats no-one cares about

is this decent progress?
starting from a floating rack position, minimal hip movement
(1rm estimated on the base of 3-5 reps, but there's a pause between the reps, ie the bar doesn't bounce back up)

you're delusional, case closed
just another dyel egolifter, probably looks like shit for his stats as well

either lbs or roiding hard

What stats? I'm not "egolifting e-statter" like yourself. Or were you talking to yourself right over there?

seems like you're low IQ too
geeze louise

Anyone else have trouble progressing on OHP when the minimum weight increase is 5 lbs? I could do 100 6 or 7 times, but can only do 105 3 or 4 times.

Yeah, low enough you even bother replying to you.

Heavy triples exclusively, 3x a week? No ones gonna progress on that shit except genetic elites

You need varying rep ranges and pressing variations. Also you should emphasize getting strong at the bottom of the movement

Monday:
Z-Press 3x3
ohp off knees 3x3-5
Overhead Shrug 2x10

Wednesday
Seated OHP 4x12-15
DB One Arm OHP 4x12-15
Overhead Shrug 2x10

Friday
Paused OHP Off Knees 3x8
Paused Standing OHP 3x8
Overhead Shrug 2x10-15

Current best doing this is 210x2
Also have done 185x12, z-press 205 1RM , 90x14 One arm db, 185x8 off the knees

Bench is awful because I neglected chest for the longest time but I'm starting to actually work everything
1pl8 is my bench
French press is like a 60lb ez curl

you can buy micro plates

Ego aside, my shoulders feel much better, and in my opinion look better now that I no longer press heavy overhead. I do shoulder work strictly as accessory movements and never go heavy, usually following strength work on the incline or guillotine press.

is it seriously that good? neat

and no, kgs, and not roiding
although i was born with 22.5 inch shoulders (got a little wider too these last few months) and am bulking on a big surplus
oh and i OHP every two days and bench once a month or so

so you're claiming you went from 40 kg OHP to 90 kg in a few months, and judging by progress you might hit 2pl8 in a few weeks? Post a vid or shut the fuck up. and 22.5" ain't shit

5'3" manlet detected

Right now it's the easiest compound for me, on my last set when I do AMRAP I can usually hit 7-8, compared to 6 when I bench.

What do you mean by strict? Not arching the back? Not bouncing the weight up with your lower body? You do know that a standing OHP is supposed to involve some lower body, yeah? It's supposed to support the weight. Not move it, but it can definitely move itself for support a little bit. Also, as long as you add weight according to your program and don't do stupid shit (like arching your back to lift the bar) you are getting stronger.

5'7 actually :^)

>so you're claiming you went from 40 kg OHP to 90 kg in a few months,
yes
>and judging by progress you might hit 2pl8 in a few weeks?
i sure hope so
>Post a vid or shut the fuck up.
why? i don't think it's particularly impressive, so why would i take a video of it to show some guy who doesn't believe me that i really can lift that?
why would i lie about it, seeing as that post is not associated with my identity, and that i'm not even using it as a "i lift more than you so i know better, shut up, i'm right" kind of thing?
>and 22.5" ain't shit
pic related
and keep in mind that that number was before ever lifting, ie all bone and little muscle

>doesn't post vid and flails out
as I thought. E-statting dwarfs btfo. Keep talking bullshit to make your little ego in your little body feel better for the day

>yeah guys I reached Exceptional level OHP in 4 months but I don't think it's that impressive hihihi

he's trolling using his lbs stats as kg, obvious as shit

uhh

answer my question. why would i lie?

rude

I can press 85 kg x 1, that's also my bodyweight.

good for you

> guillotine press

You think this is better for your shoulders than ohp? Lol

i warm up with 10's lol you can only manage 1pl8

>22.5 aint shit

You do realize this is like 99 percentile width right? Average width is 19

The largest recorded value in a NASA study of 500 men was 21.6

fuark. some great numbers ITT. I just want to get to 100 lbs. my long arms make OHP difficult.
