Why didn't the Swedes force Finns to speak their language...

Why didn't the Swedes force Finns to speak their language? It's a mistake that they let their silly Mongolian tongue survive. Europe is no place for people who speak Asian languages.

Indo-European came from Ukraine and that's practically Asia.

>Hey how can we quickly make these fairly placid and easy to rule peoples really hate our guts? I know, we forcefully convert them to our culture and ethics

what faggot took the time to make that picture? I wish i could shoot the person over such a pointless self evident picture. no shit finnish does not resemble other scndi languages and if you knew a thing about iceland you'd know about their language

It's from some comic

They tried but thankfully lost a war against russia before their cultural genocide of finns could be completed. Russians then supported finnish nationalism so finns wouldnt try to reunite with sweden. The plan backfired eventually and finns seceded to be independent instead.

Sit silent and stay still or something is the comic. Made by some fennoswede girl

As long as Finns paid their taxes and fought in their wars, the Swedish kings didn't really give a shit what language they spoke (not like they were going to hear it in their daily lives). Maybe they would have tried to actively suppress it later on, with the rise of nationalism during the mid-to-late 19th century, but as it happens they lost "Österland" and suppression of Finnish in Sweden was limited mainly to northern parts of the country, where a small Finnish-speaking minority remained.

Didn't they tried?
And failed?
The Russians rule over Fins bring restoration their language and culture.

BENIS :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

The low population density of Finland led to a situation in which workforce was not easily replaced and thus the system of serfdom did not really develop - the Finnish peasants were never tied to the land, and could always leave to East and North for cut and burn agriculture in which the Swedes were practically absent. This lack of effective political control over peasants led a case in which the Swedish manorial lords had no clear incentive to force their peasants to speak Swedish, as the relatively minor benefits would be lost as the peasants would migrate elsewhere and lead to lower income for the lord.

Note that lower population density does not necessarily lead to this sort of society: in Germany east of Elbe, serfdom was stronger than anywhere in Europe despite a low population density.

Furthermore, Finnish is not a Mongolian language. Mongolian is an Mongolic language, whereas Finnish is an Uralic one.

>ancient vikings
>ancient

I find it relatively distasteful for a Swedish artist to call the language of the Swedish domain gibberish. You wouldn't see a hyped British artist making this sort of picture with different dialects of English and then include Welsh language there under gibberish as some sort of a punchline.

> Didn't they tried
No
> And failed
Not really, as they never tried.
> Russian rule brings restoration
It was not a restoration, the Russian rule brought the transformation of Finnish from a vernacular to a systematically studied language. There was no written culture of any clear kind before the 1820s, as no novels, plays, operas, written music or other sorts of documents of a high culture. There was some folk culture that would later be codified, but the written culture was solely focused on Church and religion - bibles, psalms, hymns, sermons and so on. The few non-religious works published were of mild scientific interest, say, botanical manuals. This developement is by no means weird or abnormal - between Germany and Russia, dozens of ethnic groups inhabit Europe, and most of them had no clear distinguishable cultural life aside from folk culture and their vernacular language. 19th century nationalist movements largely centered around creation of the nations and their cultures before advocating for these nations independence.

Swedes and fennoswedes have this thing where they get super offended at everything else but shitting on Finns is fine. It's like calling a ginger in the UK as opposed to calling someone a nigger.

they certainly tried but they couldn't succeed

Upper and educated class spoke always Swedish. Only after rise of nationalism Finnish became legitimate language. Still Swedish is has official language status beside Finnish, but its position is diminishing because of immigration and English.

We didn't have enough time, if the dirty slavs wouldn't had ruined everything then the Finns would have been civilized today.

>Be Svedupelle
>Try to murder Finnish language and culture and integrate them into their homo culture
>Fail

>Be Ryssänperkele
>Try to murder Finnish culture and language
>One Finnish boi shoots your grand governor to stop this
>The Tsar shits his pants and allows Finns to practice their culture
>Fail

Why didn't either one of them go full measures? Did they fear the retalitation the Finns would have done? Did they fear the Finnic warrior?

>Swedish
>Civilized
>Rape gangs, homo culture, no go zones where government officials wont enter
>Most cucked country in Europe
>Calls Finns uncivilized

wew lad

Have a (you) for this interesting and informative post

But the shooter was a Fenno-Swede, it was the Swedish blood flowing through him and the intellect brought upon him by the Swedish language that propelled him into heroism.

And its quite distasteful, especially given the prominence of Fennoswedish bourgeoise in the massacres following the civil war that largely fell upon the poorer and less fortunate class of citizens.

>slaughtering commies is bad if the Swedes are doing it

I guess hungary, estonia, and finland aren't european then?

A Fenno Swede is a Swedish speaking Finn, they do not have any more Swedish ancestry than a normal Finn

You guessed right, boyo

Is the fingol going to suck a swedish penus?
