Mild Acne/Oily Skin

Im 19, have oily skin and have acne as a result of it i think. My Acne is mainly on my forehead and some surrounding the mouth area. Its not severe, just a bunch of red bumps, but they are noticable.
Does anyone know how to get rid of this shit without seeing a dermatologist? I've tried benozyl peroxide, salytic acid, not touching face...ect

accutane brah, only shit that works all the time

doesent that require a perscription?

I use epiduo, bactrim, and I take cold showers.

The cold showers have seriously reduced how much my face sweats.

Try scrubbing your face once a day with a salt, coconut, lemon or cucumber scrub. Just make your own. Helped my face. Leave it on till the stinging stops.

coconut oil is comedogenic and lemon will exacerbate sebum production. Normal skin requires exfoliation like once or twice a week. People with acne already have massive inflammation problems, scrubbing once a day is just going to make it worse.

Don't eat dairy. Eat heaps of veggies. Try to eat fewer meats. Brassicas are the most beneficial for me. Beyond that no one can actually say what is out of balance with your body.

I came to find that for me I don't assimilate enough methylfolate and I have a deleted gene for creating glutathione. These two things have led to a decrease in 'healthy vigor' over time and that is something my doctors or any amount of personal research would have found.

Good luck.

would *not have found.

Retinyl palmitate once a day for a week

Thank me later

Besides this I'd add in 2-3 deciliters of carrot juice every day for 3 months or so. Vilantae isn't half bad as well but should only be taken as supplement to a more in-depth treatment plan.

Get otc vitamin A, not beta catotene. It does the exact same thing and has fewer side effects.

go on a sunbed

Over cleaning a huge issue. Only wash face with anything more intense than moisturiser once a week or so. Sleep and eat well and supplement with vitamin D. Maybe limit dairy if it doesn't suit you. Ignore people itt telling you to acid wash ur face

Stop eating shit. Especially soda.
Drink way more water.

Only rinse with cold water, never clean with any soaps, change your pillowcase every 2 days. Your pillowcase is an infestation of bacteria ready to inflammate your open pores. Avoid bacteria in general for your skin. Go vegan, or at least cut down heavily on animal products.

>I came to find that for me I don't assimilate enough methylfolate and I have a deleted gene for creating glutathione
expand on this

>sebum
Lol

>shower before bed, wash face with good face wash
>change pillowcase every other night (flip inbetween)
>shave everyday and use aftershave
>if you pop a zit, clean with alcohol
This has been working well for me

>inflammate

Adult acne is always hormonal/diet related.

Humans are obligate carnivores so you should eat an all meat diet for optimal health.

If you're not ready for the redpill you can cut out all sugars/dairy and chug like 3 tablespoons of fish oil a day to manage your inflammation.

You gotta be fuckin nuts. Personally I only shave every 3-4 days. Sheets/pillowcases get changed once a week. Facewash is a joke.. just clean your hands with soap(make sure the soap is washed away) and scrub your face with your own hands in the shower.

If you have seriously bad acne see a dermatologist it's that simple.

>Avoid bacteria in general for your skin.

Pretty sure there are billions of bacteria on and inside our skin.

>can't handle basic hygiene
>not shaving daily

Yeah, I don't know why he won't see a dermatologist.

>> Guise, how can I solve something on my own (through 4-fucking-chan of all places) that a specialist could very easily??

40 min sunlight every two days. Vit D and UV will double penetrate your acne.

Even if you get rid of it, you'll always have the scars. Underneath all those red marks of unworthiness are deep, lasting pits of ugly. Nobody who takes one look at you won't think about how spotty your face must have been.

Honestly OP, I had really bad acne, like just like your pic. except I finally fucking figured out how to stop it after years of torment.

It has to do with my diet that gives the most effect. Specifically anything sugar, high gi carbs and eating TOO much godamn food in one sitting. Anything that spikes your insulin, stay the fuck out.

I basically had to go 4 day water fast to realize if it was the environment, or the food that was causing it and lo and behold it's something that I was eating.

I then slowly introduced my foods that might have caused me acne and found out that basically any high sugar, high insulin responding foods cause me systemic inflammation and cause me to break out.

This, if you still have it bad as an adult any otc soaps and remedies aren't going to work very well. Changing your diet may help a fair bit, but you are going to need to play around with what works for you. Milk bothers some people and not others for example. Vitamin A, E, zinc, and omega's will help some. However you won't achive lasting effects and won't do much unless supplemented by a strict diet and cleansing routine.

If you can try to get accutane. I bit the bullet and did it at 24, one of the better decisions of my life. Had horrible cyclic acne. Nothing I did really did much to help it. The actual treatment is hella safer than 10 years ago. The temporary side effects can suck dick, but most don't last for long and can be remedied my moisterizer or otc pain killers. Honestly 6-8 months of a good cycle of accutane is worth it. I only have a 5% chance of relapse. It which case I'll just hop back on a short cycle and be done with it forever.

There's a lot of folk advice that goes around, but a lot of the people giving it (just wash your face more) don't suffer from severe acne, and there's not a lot of hard science backing up folk remedies. Best advice is probably just to try basic healtht living. Eat healthy, drink enough water, get enough sleep, guet enough sunlight etc.

If you looked like your pic, I would try to get accutane from the dermatologist. I used to have pretty sever acne between ages 12 and roughly 15 or 16, and salacylic acid and face washes never worked for me, but benzoyl peroxide helped although it's also harsh on your skin. If you're using 10% right now, try a lower concentration like 5% or 2.5% (or whatever the lowest is). That was more effective for me without destorying my skin so much, which probably made my acne worse. Also, try to find a light lotion to help keep your skin moist.

IME, washing your face is a useless meme. When I stopped using salicylic acid washes my face looked better and especially the redness I had around the sides of my nose cleared up. The only face washing I do is by getting my face wet in the shower and I don't deliberately wash or scrub it at all.

There is, but there are specific bacteria that cause acne and irritation that you can minimize and avoid.

If OP's only 19, there's a chance his hormones still might be settling down from puberty. On the other hand, my grandmom said she had acne until she was middle-adged and got on accutane (or whatever they used back in probably the 60s).

Retinol, chemical exfoliation, dermarollers, scar cream.

My derm gave me a retinol/scar cream compound to use every other day. We did a couple of chemical peels when it was safe right after I went off. And I use a derma roller every other week.

Did the compound cycle and now use a light retinol for maintenance along with the derma roller. Skin looks like nothing ever happened.

>a lot of the people giving it (just wash your face more) don't suffer from severe acne
yeah I agree with this. Never had bad acne fortunately, but my brother had seriously bad stuff. See a doc and try to eat healthy. All the other advice is bunk

True, he should try other routes first and monitor it, but if it's super cystic and his family has a history of it he may need to see a derm about accutane.

>Skin looks like nothing ever happened.
Wow, so smooth.

I'm serious, derma rolling even helped with enlarged pores. A friend of mine wants to get one and some retinol because she says it's a close to Korean skin a white is ever gonna get.

>Korean skin
I was almost convinced until you pulled that meme.

>without seeing a dermatologist
No - go see a dermatologist. Take some antibacterials for 8 weeks and topicals. If that doesn't work, take accutane.

Tretinoin oil or creme
