ITT: Music to lift to (and for fit people to enjoy)

Tongue-in-cheek genres are essential if you're outwardly intimidating (big muscles), in my opinion. And power metal is incredible anyway.

Disturbed makes the perfect lifting music

Polyphia

In the sky a mighty eagle
Doesn't care 'bout what's illegal
On its wings the rainbow's light
It's flying to eternity
Eagle fly free
Let people see
Just make it your own way
Leave time behind
Follow the sign
Together we'll fly someday

Damn i love them too

I'm a huge fan of helloween but i don't find it good to lift.
Better choice for me are:
Sabaton, Manowar, Stormwarrior, Amon Amarth

>sabaton

mah nigga

Thank you for the rec my friend. Really enjoying keeper of the keys 1&2, particularly you always walk alone. I think after the burial and anime music are top tier as well.

how does listening to power metal help? help what? I'm outwardly intimidating and listen to tons of it, but unless I walk aroudn singing along what is that supposed to do?

It's supposed to help you get in the right frame of mind to lift heavy weights. At some point in your lifting career lifting weights becomes more of mental struggle than a physical one.

i miss sepultura

Anyone else listen to DJ sets while lifting? Never have to change songs and it’s intended to have no dropping off. Here’s a Diplo/Skrillex set I’ve listened to for months now. Just find a soundcloud downloaded and you can put it on your device

TIME...MARCHES
TIME...MARCHES OOOONN

Just speaking for myself because music affects people differently but
>Fills me with energy
>Takes me to a fantasy-world
>Makes me feel happy and relaxed
Resulting in a better mood throughout the day. If I listen to death metal or black metal, which is good in its own right, I normally empathise with the aggression, I guess, and it makes me quieter during the day. A quiet muscular guy is more intimidating than a happy and talkative muscular guy.
Also helps that power metal as a genre is very tongue-in-cheek, kinda like goth metal. It knows the lyrics/themes are stupid, the music is over-the-top and cheesy, but it's part of the charm. It's self-aware. When people ask what music you like or ask you to play them some, and you play something like power metal, they get the impression that you're not a person who takes things too seriously; you still understand that fundamentally things should be fun.
