I had a crazy 6 months. Working 2 jobs 60+ hours a week for months. This month put away 80+ hours per week just to get into a job in my field. Now I work overnights 40hours a week. Lots of free time now but I sleep a lot more. I need the extra sleep, I was/still kinda am burning out. My last job was labor and delivery in a flooring and home decor store. Ate like shit but never lost a pound. Now I do literally no physical work.

My wife is also obese and she wants to lose the weight with me. Our biggest problem is lack of self control and bad use of time. We constantly wait till it's really late to eat supper, and by then, it's just quicker to order something.

What do you do at your new job?

Try meal prep. Cook a weeks worth of food on a free day, and store it so its ready for you when you want to have dinner.

I'm a support worker at a halfway house. I sign residents in and out, take calls, and tend to small household needs like bringing up food, clean linens, stuff like that. I also log anything I notice from the residents or what they tell me and it goes into their casework file.

In a year or so I plan on moving up to be a caseworker, and hope to work as a police officer or parole officer a few years after that.

I've done some meal prep on Sundays every once in a while. Only problem was the time constraint on working 2 jobs. Now it's a lot more relaxed, I'm going to start planning meals for the week and make sure leftovers get eaten.
