They only take who they need. They take half of applicants on average. The US has muh military industrial complex, so we just kind of throw half our national revenue at who ever will take it, because of this I'd be less liekly to see combat and more likely to get a more civilian job in the military, even though I would get more money and free education, which would be nice. Also, everyone starts out at the same rank, the officers ranked up and started where everyone else did, unlike the military where you get someone from an rotc program. Also, it'd be cool to learn breadspeak and get a shot at EU citizenship.
