What sport are you training for, Veeky Forums?

Cycling I guess.
I'd like to do the PBP before France completely turns into a Caliphate and the event is cancelled.

>lifting for sports

No sports just work. Need strength for construction and gay porn

bjj

If it wasnt for my knees it would be basketball, now I lift for lifting

Persistence hunting

I train for bouldering, but I suppose any climbing other than ice.

Disc golf.
I mean, besides lifting and running, my only hobby is disc golf.

Rugby

I'm a freshman at my uni, started seriously lifting (mainly just did cardio and bodyweight before) this semester.

Plan on joining the rugby team at my uni next year. Am I fucked Veeky Forums?

I used to do wrestling and MMA. Would really like to get back into Wrestling. There's a Muay Thai gym near me. So maybe that. Also Rugby in the summer I suppose. It's unfortunate that wrestling gyms don't really cater to dudes in their 20's. Greco Roman is this shit.

I read that as disco golf twice.

The sport of getting a gf

Life.

That's easy. It's the quality that gives the game more levels.

Rugby!

P.S Sports are a good way to go to the gym a lot without looking like you're obsessed with yourself.

Rugby
Nothing better than using gains on the field to manhandle opponents and gain the bond with your teammates of having each others backs

i'm 30 years old
trying to get into pro boxing

i'm fucking stupid

Basketball desu. I want to be able to dunk, that's my ultimate goal. Then I can ball on the negros

I coach soccer.

Training to be ready for the CPAT/test when a local fire department is hiring.

MMA. I've gotten McGregor stats, but not his skill. I'm hoping to become really good with my stand-up game so I can bully ultra manlets at featherweight

what program are you using?

wrestler

why does he have a pair of antlers on his back?

Son, sit down. There's something daddy has to tell you.

roleplaying as a super cool guy hunter bro isn't cool fyi

I know a 30 year old who won like 12 amateur bouts and lost one. He was a scrappy street fighter before but not trained. He started at 28. Just understand where you stand on it and how much time and energy you are willing to put in. You won't be a golden glove or anything, but you can make a slight name for yourself if you take it seriously.

considering he's a professional hunter and author, i think your projection is a bit misguided

shit nvm I just saw the ear attached to the head. Trophy hunting is for egotistical retards and that man should be shot.

>I know a 30 year old who won like 12 amateur bouts and lost one.
did he go pro?

Those are some big fucking antlers yo. And fact he did that with a bow is even more impressive. That takes some serious skill.

Hunting for sport in general is pretty gross.

t. will eat a thousand chickens and 5 cows in their lifetime

Love

No, he stopped training. Now he just teaches kids at the Y. He was too blue collar about it all. Wanted to get shitfaced and bang local slags, then got on heroine for a few months before his 30th birthday after getting injured at work. Shame.
Point is, it's not un-attainable, just really dependent on you.
I fought a pro Strike-force (now UFC) fighter when I was 17. I could still totally get back into it. Just don't want to. Not at that level though. Getting beat up by a pro fighter isn't really fun.

so he failed at being pro

who would've guessed that all the dweebs on Veeky Forums don't even play real sports

...

Disc golf is the shit. We had a course at my high school and we'd play every day instead of an actual phys. ed. class. It was awesome. Pic related

I hunt. But I hunt for meat, not trophy. Big difference.

Yes, but I don't know if he wanted to go pro. Certainly wasn't motivated for it. Like I said, understand where you stand on it.
You will be competing with some kids who have been dreaming about since they were like 5. Are you motivated enough to kick their asses?

I'm a 5'8 manlet that can dunk with one hand.
I wish I could do a two-hander, though.

>tfw all the mires I get when I dunk the ball

>competed in boxing
>didn't want to get paid for it
bro everyone who likes working out to become stronger wants financial support so they can continue working out to become stronger

Look for your local rugby team rather than a uni team. Uni teams are mainly about drinking and fucking over freshers rather than playing. Was part of my uni team for 3 years before joining my local team.

Infinitely better socially and playing wise. .

Rugby, rowing and water polo. Honestly there is no better feeling than scrumming and just destroying them because you've been doing well for squats. Water polo is for my cardio as they train twice a week and it's fucking intense. 2 hours of sprints in the water, body weight exercises and training kills me.

Dude I'm just giving you the anecdote of this man. Do what you want, but don't be a sour puss if you don't make it because you didn't go all in with it. You are 30, shit's not going to be easy for you at all. Not impossible though.

I played for a rec league when I was 14 and ran circles around everyone so they put me in 16 and up
Got to my first game and they wanted me to do the faceoff against a grown ass man he was at least a foot taller and 100 pounds more
They whistled and he ran his shoulder into my head full force and knocked me out
Decided it probably wasn't for me

>running after an animal for 16 hours straight over rocks, brush and cliffs
>not a sport
...?

Coach was stupid, should have had you at x feeding. Feel your pain, FO guys can be some of the dirtiest players because the face is the hardest part of the game to call for a ref.

MAWA is pretty cool for oldfags who wanna wrestle but it's just the mid-Atlantic

Implying you can't take a trophy from the animal you eat? Are you going to eat it's head? Certainly not it's antlers...

>being an adult
>playing on grass with a ball like a child
Get a grip

Playing csgo professionally.

It isn't. It is an athletic hobby. However, there is no shame in one over a sport. Same thing as Cheerleading. It isn't a sport, it is an athletic competition or athletic entertainment, but it is still respected at the same level as football.

Dragon Boat, was on the countrys fastest university team this year and hope to keep it up for next year as well, maybe even make the national team in 2 years.

my man

Who else here boxes? Recreational heavybag users need not apply, or the people wanting a "strength base" first lmao

What's with these idiots wanting to be a pro boxer? 20 is to old let alone 30, learn about the sport first you fucking morons there are pros who are better than you'll ever be and get chewed and spit out by the sport, with just the brain damage to remember it by. Also there will be a stigma if you
1.)walk into the gym thinking you'll actually be good
2.)doing this at 30
3.)even more so if you're white and lift weights
You have to prove yourself because your type comes in a lot and are usually delusional pussys, you can be a humble pussy, but thinking you'll make it anywhere near the pro circuit is anything but humble

That sounds better honestly

>no fencing

Capoeira

olympic weightlifting

high school varsity lax, senior year. want to be a starting player so people will cheer for me and cure my severe autism.

Freestyle wrestling , do a lot of bodyweight stuff and olympic lifts, but at the end of the day nothing will improve your game like actual mat-work will.

Do candito strength/power routine.

DELET

What's a sport that I could feasibly walk on in university? How would I go about that

I've had people think I play on the football, basketball team, or be some athlete in general.

I'm 6'1'' and 180 lb (10% body fat) for reference and have very broad shoulders

Tennis

hell yeah, w8 class? are you good?

Boxing, already on the uni team, looking at getting into the rugby or lacrosse team too

learning to wrestle will benefit you greatly and once you finish uni you can switch to bjj
you won't be good compared to people who've trained since highschool but you will be a hell of a lot better than the parallel reality version of you who never EVEN TRIED
don't compare to others

Try rugby. Most people get into it in college so you'll be on a level playing field with most people.

track and field
theres got to be at least one other thrower on here

I want to start rock or mountain climbing in the future because of pic related.

Bouldering

Does your routine compliment it? Can you post your routine?

Im 87 kg and im good by canadian standards, but i know american wrestlers at my level train like absolute beasts so im not so sure. Ive seen them speedmog guys i thought were “quick” when i saw them being able to get the ankle pick in a matter of microseconds

I go to an American university. We don't have rugby as a varsity sport. However, I heard rowing is a sport you can walk on in university. However, am I too small for heavyweight rowing?

Yes it does. I do periodization, so 3 weeks increasing intesity and then 4th week reduced intensity(similar to week 2) and then next period you start with week 3 intensity.

I always warm up with some light climbing and then:

Monday: Core and fingers(hangboard)
Tuesday: Ring training, shoulder isolations and legs
Wednesday: Rest
Thursday: Chest and campus board(not recommended for new climbers)
Friday: Core and fingers
Saturday: Free climbing indoors/ Outdoor climbing
Sunday: Rest

I throw in additional isolations whenever I feel like I have the recovery potential for it.

Pretty intense but I've blown up in the last few months, gained about 4kg/~9lbs

Does using different finger when you are doing 1 or 2 finger pullups matter?

you stay the hell away from my gf with those fingers.

Ring+middle finger is the strongest combination after proper training but I usually use all fingers and hang on ~10mm with and without weights, I don't do pull-ups.

Am I beaned?
