CTL group didn't come even close to failure.

SLOW was much closer to failure than CTL, so according to the size principle, the SLOW group recruited more higher threshold fibers.

If both groups got to failure, results would have been the same.

The best way to incur the strongest possible hypertrophy response would to be to go to eccentric failure aka no ability to even do negatives anymore. But this in turn causes such a huge demand on your recovery resources that you'll not recover nearly as quick as you would from sets of say 8-20 between 1 and 3 reps shy of failure, which is the sweet spot to yield best gains over a given period of time.

It's a trade off. TUT has it's place, but not for the reasons you think - with particular exercises (I'm thinking rear flyes, chest flyes and other extreme isolation movements) it can be difficult for most to re establish tension on the target muscles, and TUT can reduce this problem significantly. Basically, however you personally can most easily incur fatigue on the target muscles as opposed to secondary movers (be it with TUT or rest pauses or whatever), that is the correct course of action.

Studies are the best source of info but its absolutely crucial to understand EXACTLY what's happening within them and to not extrapolate a damn thing which is not overtly proven.

I'm a little over a month into kicking porn. In my experience, it's very easy to cut porn if you keep the same fapping habits for a time. Once you fap, you don't want to look at porn, so just do a complete no-fap for a week or so, fap on your normal schedule without porn (whether it be 2x a day, 1x a day, one every other day, etc), then whenever you start to get horny, just crank it without porn. After that comes regulating your actual fap schedule completely. Trying noporn + nofap at the same time is incredibly difficult, so start with porn, then work on maintaining a controlled fap schedule.
