Home gym safety

What's the worst that could happen exactly?

Airplane crashes through your roof and knocks over your protein shake

Benching in of the squat rack with the safety bars set too low (eg. set to squat height) , not being able to get the bar up and chocking to death.

Manletmoles dig into your homegym, that's why all gyms have a seperate area below the gym, called the pit.

This is my nightmare

so just set the safety right lmao

>What's the worst that could happen exactly?

You die. Next thread.

You give up on lifting and you'll have a room dedicated to your failure.

This.

checked

So far from my experience, the scariest thing is incline press. I have pipe safeties and they don't really help when doing this lift.

Of course for bench and incline press you can still remain a bit safe by not adding collars so you can slide shit one way if you get pinned.

Dont use clips. You want to be able to dump the plates if you cant get the rep

That shit's motivating though. I have a home gym and a piano. For a couple years I barely used them, and every day that shit was reminder of my failure. I decided I either have to start using this shit again or sell it off.

Well now I'm taking piano lessons and lifting again.

Who actually uses clips for anything except oly lifts...
And even then?

Why are you lowering the bar over your neck you idiot? You roll the bar down, not up, if you can't get it up.

>You roll the bar down
>russian crushing his chest and dying dot webbum

>dropping the bar on your chest from full arm extension
>gently lowering it to your chest and rolling it off
These are not the same thing, sir. And hey, if you're currently benching four plates I'll admit that's a different ballgame. If.

Nearly everyone. Try explaining why you don't use clips to a normie and they'll just respond that they use them anyway.

>beching with safety pins
enjoy your zero ROM
also you fucking brainlets, this is why you don't put clips on the bar. in case something goes wrong you just flip it to one side and the plates slide off. did that a few times in the gym when i had no spotter with 2+ plates

> slow reps

Lol how many people still believe in this meme? All slow reps do is make you more sore. You get way more gains lifting in a natural explosive fashion with all the muscles firing once as a unit. When you move heavy weight slowly it just increases injury potential.

Why the fuck would you train yourself to be better at getting SLOWER? Lol. There's studies that show no hypertrophy difference between 1 and 4 second slow negatives and slow positives are just utterly retarded to even think of doing

...

it's not really more dangerous than a gym if you're not a retard (meaning you can fuck yourself up in the gym just as bad if you don't have a spotter buttbuddy at all times) but a proper set up takes up so much fucking space it's not worth it for most people who live alone unless they're amerimutts who seem to be obsessed with buying an unnecessarily huge house in some bumfuck suburb 50 miles away from a city instead of a small apartment in a good location

I bench with safety pins on heavy sets, and I have full ROM. If you can't manage this, your form is plain wrong.

It's my fantasy

>kettle bells
>medicine ball
>box for jumping
>softcore porn
>skateboards on the wall
>a total of 187,5kg including the bar and collars in actual barbell weights
>microplates

I've done the roll of shame with 225lb while being a skinny DYEL and the most that happened was my skin was a little tender. Stop being a pussy.

I've yet to fail a rep where I thought dumping the weights awkwardly off the sides would be easier than just roll of shaming or dropping the bar entirely. Seems more dangerous to me to dump the weight off one side since if it's enough weight, it'll cause the other side to have no counterbalance and fling down.

>they're amerimutts who seem to be obsessed with buying an unnecessarily huge house in some bumfuck suburb 50 miles away from a city instead of a small apartment in a good location

The house ends up being significantly cheaper.

Literally this. Just arch a little -- it's worth it. Twisting to get plates off WILL fuck your core.

can u post all these posters? I only found this other one in full size

nvm found them

then maybe YOU should post them

>Benching in of the squat rack with the safety bars set too low (eg. set to squat height) , not being able to get the bar up and chocking to death.
Listen boys, that's how you recoginize a DYEL ultramanlet. In fact, the height of the safety pins during squats is HIGHER than during BENCH - if you're not the size of a kid.

can I pls bost them? :D

Also loling, 3+ plates is like, I'm sorta scared to be lifting down here by myself.

Unfortunately I bolted my squat rack to the floor too close to the wall and I can't use my safety bars.

I'm going to be a news story you guys laugh at.
