True. However, that's not a truly bad thing; the society is still more educated. Employers will have more choice in terms of labour. The choice will then be based on other things than just a paper from a Uni. The state still benefits, as do the people.

I tend to see it more as a freedom TO choose. There's nothing really limiting my choice in this system except for my own performance. I speak 4 languages, am about to graduate next year, already work in a good company with international experience. Shit's good.

I have a very American image of taxes in general, I don't want to pay for roads outside of my state and I don't want to pay for a military that fights wars I might not agree with or pay for subsidies on businesses I don't think should be invested in federally.

How much of that do they contribute to via taxes versus how much of that do they expect to be funded by people more successful than they are. They are free to make charitable contributions to the causes of their choice, such as education, hurricane relief, civil rights, etc. the difference is that as they grow older and earn their own share, they are much less willing to demand the same policies once it no longer benefits them.

I disagree on the tax issue. If you benefit from the system, you pay into it; that's usually seen as fair. Then again, Finland is not comparable in size and there's no real Federal system (yet, we'll see what the EU becomes), so the money tends to go back into a smaller system.
