Not sure how much it actually helps, but in a sport where results are determined by a hundredth of a second they do what they can to go as fast as possible.

You have to know how to do it. You have to shave with the direction of hair growth. Moving the razor inwards into towards the anus. If you do it outwards, once the hair starts growing you'll feel like there's a hornets nest coming out of your asshole.
