Planning on going into the military but want to be completely prepared
What's Veeky Forums's recommended exercise routine for the military?

80 push ups in 2 minutes.

90 situps in 2 minutes

2 mile run in at least 14:30

Run for long distance while on keto and fasting. Should do a nocarb week here and there to test it out.

Presuming you join something that has actual soldiers instead of the chairforce or Donald Duck squad, this will be a recurring event in your training. To test your willpower - but it's more a test of your metabolism.

>t. Slav who's shitty government only issues him a can of spam a week

Don't listen to this fucktard op most militaries outside of Mongolia feed you a high carb diet

Monday:
5k at good pace, aiming for sub 21 minutes
Tuesday:
Push ups, sit ups, pull ups, bodyweight squats, lunges
Wednesday:
1.5 mile best effort or whatever your standard test run is
Thursday:
Battle PT: sprints, up downs, push ups, tire flips etc, all with a weighted ruck or weighted vest. Alternatively just redo Tuesday
Friday:
Hill reps; find a hill with a decent incline that goes up for a few hundred metres, run up, slow jog down, repeat x10
Saturday:
5 mile gentle recovery run
Sunday:
Rest

Train to do this and you're in a good spot.

> the soldier is inducted into a group of soldiers for 2-3 days
Sounds like a lot of dick sucking

Do the obvious, running. A lot of running.

Your overall "strength" actually doesn't mean fuck all in the military. What matters is your power-weight ratio, and your ability to maintain operating ability when you have minimal food and absolutely no rest.

Your ability to turn protein powder and sleep into muscle is *not* an asset in the military. What counts is being able to run 10K after three straight days awake while being screamed at, psychologically tortured, and nutritionally carbfucked by the MRE.

Also, you need to start doing hardcore hiking now. With a large rucksack with at least 70lbs in it. You don't have to go up steep inclines, but you've got to wear heavy weight and ruck it out for at least 20k

Welcome to the worst experience of your fucking life

> start doing hardcore hiking now

Starting at 70lbs is pretty retarded. Would be better if he started off lower, broke his boots in, developed the muscles necessary to not get shin splints as well as keeping up a long stride at a 4mph pace, and then build up from there. Going out with 70lbs and stumbling about in the woods wont do him any good. He also has to learn how to pack a bergen or ruck so it isnt a pain, i.e lightest stuff in bottom, heaviest at the top.

Meant for

Ofcourse they feed the recruits you civilian retard.
But there will be exercises and drills were "combat simulation" will put you in a completely different environment than you experienced before.
That is unless you join some shit troops who spend most of their time with logistics, standing guard or moving objects from one truck to another and similar shit.

Should probably add that I'm an oldfag, so I did my service before the military allowed genderfluid queers who require fashionable uniforms with specialized pocket for thier soylent.
That's probably why our experiences differ. When I did it, it was the cold war and we were bred to kill, not to kiss.

Cringe

If anything, nutritional, psychological and physiological sciences have come a long way since then so they know how to push you harder and fuck with you more. We also carry most likely more weight than the average squaddie from the cold war era. Training whilst on no carbs and all that bs isnt going to help, youre just going to feel like shit and get nothing out of it. Its the same reason why blokes going for the SAS dont strap on 100lbs and run up and down the Brecons - all youre gunna do is prematurely fuck yourself for the sake of 'rah manly this is how we used to do it' when you can train smarter and get more out of it.

military fitness is very specific ie: obs courses, battle PT in armour, packmarching/rucking. Dont be too keen to get straight into doing these outside of the military. the army has enough time to condition you to these and they have many years to do it to you. I could hardly ruck with anything over 15kg however now I am able to ruck 50kg+

>it was the cold war and we were bred to kill, not to kiss
t. no combat experience cold wurr vet

You won't be completely prepared no matter what you do.
Its not something that you can replicate partially and be suited for its entirety.
>ditch all electronics for ~9 weeks
>have someone wake you up screaming at you at odd hours of the night without retaliation.
>no supplementation, not even ibuopropbin or multivitamin
>no sweets or soda
>complying to questionable orders without complaint or question
>you are always wrong, even if you are squared away you didnt do it right.
>you will be punished for the failures of others
>motivation is not to wane, any lack of enthusiasm will be punished
>size and aesthetic amounts for shit

sub13:00 2 mile is ideal.

Aside from fitness/pt test you need to learn how to know if boots are too tight/loose, don't let them issue you boots that are the wrong size. You will also need to adjust your posture so you can ruckmarch without injuring your back.

You should already know how to squat properly, so that is good too.

thats a pretty good plan

>what is the Korean War
>what is the Vietnam war
>what are the various military interventions done by the US from the 50’s-90’s
“The less they know, the more opinions they have”

Day 1:
Tell your recruiter to fuck off and walk away
Day 2:
Wow you did it! Congratulate yourself on not being a retard.

I killed more than 200 people with drones and airstrikes in a single deployment. It was like a a very slow, very careful, video game.

>medical and dental benefits
>free "college dorm" housing
>free "dining hall" food
if you're married or have kids
>~$1200/mo tax free for housing
>inexpensive family medical/dental
>~$400-800+ tax free for food
Even more if you are an officer. If you are 18 and got your teenage gf pregnant joining the military is one of the smartest choices.

If you're American and not a total fat fuck/skelly you'll be fine. The military isn't what you think it is and the standards/average is much lower than you expect. But if you wanna be high speed:
>Run 3 miles twice per week
>BW (Push ups, sit-ups, pull-ups AMRAPXF 5-6 days per week.)
>Ruck Twice per week 5-8 miles (~40lb pack, wear boots)
>Don't eat like shit
>Be in better shape than 70% of the military
t. Army fag

They know you are shit they will literally tran you there

>he thinks 24k a year to literally have the most shit job in America while having zero freedom or free will and revolving your entire life around this one job is a smart choice

Tell that to the ever-increasing rate of suicide in the military.

It IS a smart choice though. You get so much free shit it's ridiculous. As long as you didn't fuck up and get an absolute shit tier job like nuke it's probably fine. That's pretty much ALL disposable income by the way.

weight lifting and running

not op,

but aus chocko going to pooka in 2 weeks.
anyone got tips for training for the next 2 weeks?

how did you post without a pic?
