working on it, hitting abs twice a week and upping the weight on compounds (deads/SLDL/front squat)

it's a good idea to have some twisting work in there as well, either isometric (like dumbell rows) or concentric work with medicine balls etc. I have a very strong core from years of high level tennis (+ relevant lifting) and the twisting motion makes a big difference for core & obliques.

i do knife jacks, hanging leg raises and russian twists with a medicine ball. Any others that would really fuck my core up?

weighted stuff is better than bodyweight stuff. I wouldn't bother with knife jacks. Russian twists are good (even better if you have a decline bench with footholds so that you have to perform a quarter-situp and do your twists from there). Ideally you want to do your hanging leg raises with a dumbell between your feet. I use 25lb for 20 reps (legs kept straight) but you'll almost certainly want to start lower.

What is the best protein supplement in you guys' opinion? The protein powder I am on right now tastes so bad that I struggle to get it down after workouts and dont feel like I am really getting that much muscle gain. I am only drinking it twice a day as well (before and after workouts) so am I killing my gains? I'm looking into whey protein because I heard its the best for muscle growth but I'm not sure if I am just falling for the memes. Pls help.

I feel like your shoulders are rounding in so specifically rows and target rhomboids/rear delts. Your midsection isn't great either so study up on some ab work.

Learn to master planks. I feel like Veeky Forums isn't a huge fan but I think body weight workouts are 10/10. Side planks are a personal favorite. You will feel pretty good when you can do a 5 minute plank.

Most skellies I just tell them to progress on abs, learn to sculpt them and make sure your back is stronger than your chest.

Eat clean or it's all pointless.

not him but this guy I've been doing planks but I can't seem to get past 1.5 minutes without pain in my back and burning in my core, any tips for working up to 5 minutes? For side planks, do you rest on your elbow/forearm or your hand/palm?
