To other user's with cutting experience. Did you ever notice that being on a calorific deficit affected your emotions or decision making? I'm into the last 10 days of a three month cut and I've just realised in this time I've converted to Christianity, split up with my girlfriend, got back with my girlfriend and just generally been going through a bit of a flux. Could it be linked to being on a calorific deficit?
Pic related. It's my before and after. 6'0. Started at 103kg (227lb) now down to 94kg (207lb).
Hunter Johnson
Damn how did you have abs and be so fat too, do you work them directly?
And to answer your question yeah cutting makes me have a short fuse, and extremely irritable i just snap at people when they repeat the same thing to me or ask stupid questions.
Blake Ramirez
Cutting have me almost ed and just eating at a slight surplus makes a pornstar out of me so i dont cut or bulk anymore. Just cardio and clean diet works better for me.
Parker Jones
I remember cutting for too long made me depressed as fuck. Just tired, felt like shit, didn't wanna do anything.
Adam Williams
I do work them directly yeh. The trick to having visible abs isn't low body fat it's just to have big abs. Obviously low body fat helps though.
Caleb Jenkins
This shit is just 9 fucking kilos?
Luke Hill
We have similar fat storing genetics and get abs while being fat fucks, also mirin.
To answer your question, yes. When I was cutting for a long time I felt depressed and worthless. When I started bulking I felt great again
Jordan Brooks
What ab exercises do you do, and how often?
Ian Moore
hmm. I don't feel any change of emotions or decision making during a cut. only slightly lowered brain function. like I'm teaching myself Japanese because I'm a filthy fucking weeb and during cuts my flashcard success percentage goes down 10-15%.
Henry Lewis
Yea cutting makes u feel like shit. That's why I'm not falling for the dirty bulk meme this time and only aiming to gain 1.5-2kg a month so when I cut for summer I can do a less intense cut at like -500/600 and not want to completely kill myself
Adam Gomez
Heavy cable crunches and hanging leg raises mainly. desu I'm pretty sure I got big abs from heavy deadlifts and just engaging them properly while lifting.
Charles Lee
are you one of those retarded gomaders who thinks that squats and deadlifts alone will give you a strong and defined core?
Ian Cook
Start eating healthy, add daily cardio to ur routine and cutting is the fucking easiest shit in the world
Luis Rodriguez
Also I used to row competitively back in high school so even before I started lifting I already had a base. Rowing is good for everything desu. One of the best cardios.
Tyler Jackson
Well i know that you need to work them to grow them, but not many guys have abs at high BF and some have them never working their abs a day in their life.
Thomas Perry
for me personally, the number one cutting trick (other than ephedrine and caffeine) is nofap. call it a meme or whatever, and yes a lot of the supposed benefits are wildly exaggerated/bullshit, but the mood boost and energy boost coupled with the mood and energy sapping of a cut just seems to work wonders for me. some examples of the synergy: >normally when i wake up, i'm lazy as fuck and just wanna laze around, the only thing that gets me up is the promise of breakfast but IF so no food till 2 oclock BUT on nofap, so fucking horny in the morning i get up regardless of food just cos my body needs to move or itll explode (or if i lie in bed too long i'm liable to end up fapping) >cutting gives me the urge to laze around on Veeky Forums during the day, nofap means i avoid thicc/waifu/wheyfu threads and get bored of it quicker, end up doing more work >the nofap energy and horny thoughts that usually prevent me from sleeping are counterbalanced by being genuinely really tired by the time i go to bed due to less food and more cardio etc etc give it a try
Michael Cook
>advocates nofap >posts a gif that makes you want to fap
user don't play with us like that
Jayden Clark
ur gonna have to cut harder than that porky
Jack Nelson
lol. show us how it's done then by posting body m8
Parker Young
Details of cut
Calories? Diet?
Nathaniel Peterson
Yes. I become a complete fucking hateful prick.
Worse than usual.
Tyler Richardson
or, get this, you could do a 1000 deficit and be done in half the time
think about it
Andrew Young
show body
there's a reason they tell you never to make decisions when you're hungry
big deficit or extended period in deficit makes you a miserable lethargic cunt with a short fuse
Noah Bennett
So many people recommend not doing this but i need to lose close to 10kg i would rather be done in 10 weeks than 20.
Mason Walker
Sure
I don't get the argument though, are you immune to criticism unless someone posts their body on a, mind you, anonymous board?
Oliver Wright
the people recommending against it don't know what they're talking about
Nathaniel Murphy
Because this board is full of trolls who don't even lift. Is the left a before photo and far right and after? What bf% did you start at? Height and starting and finishing weight?
Owen Howard
I agree that this board is full of shits who don't lift, however you don't have to be huge to criticise someone in my opinion, thats like saying you can't call for example a painting ugly unless you are Picasso
left photo was during the cut, right is at the end of the cut when i was depleted as shit, i think i was about 79kg or something
Angel Rogers
I used myfitnesspal to track calories. I worked out 2300 calories was how much I'd need to lose weight. At first I'd add extra calories on a day if I did cardio (but not weights) but after the first month I stopped bothering.
I just tried to eat as clean as possible. No sugar, minimal fruit, minimal alcohol.
I also invented a salad made almost entirely out of meme foods and ate fuck tons of it.
It's chillis, tumeric, onions (obviously), celery, fresh coriander, black pepper, then with non meme additions of olive oil, vinegar, lettuce, tomato and cucumber. Feta is optional
Jackson Reed
It's more that if a fat person calls me fat I'm not gonna listen to them. When you say 'depleted as shit', how long could you stay that lean for? Are you currently maintaining that bf% or did you have to bulk up again?
Elijah Reyes
i am honestly convinced that very low bodyfat is not mantainable by anyone unless you are on steroids
your testosterone will plummet you will feel small depleted and generally like shit
i was that lean maybe for a week or something because it was summer, but even 2-3kg more make you feel much better
also back to the original discussion, i think all criticism should be listened to, i will listen even if a 40kg auswitz prisoner tells me that my shoulders are small for example
Jaxon Morgan
So what's the point of cutting that lean if it's not sustainable? Was it for a competition or something? I estimate I'm about 13% bf right now. I reckon I could prob go down to 11-12% and it still be sustainable but not really interested in going any lower than that if I can't be like that long term.
Constructive criticism should be listened to but a lot of people here just insult posters for the fun of it so their comments should be ignored imo.

Cutting makes me feel cold all the time. I used to sit at home with a t shirt and not feel cold but now I am wearing 4 layers and I am still cold. When I am hungry my mental gets worse and I get stressed more. Thankfully only 1 kg more to go for my target weight.
Angel Cox
are you OP picture on the right currently? that's not 13% , i am guessing 15-16% (thats still lean, a *lot* of people under estimate their bodyfat)
if you are 94kg right now, you will look the best (most aesthetic) at 86-88kg in my honest opinion (very lean ~10-11% but mantainable)
however you will not look as full. You would be surprised how much weight you have to drop in order to get really low bodyfat (like 7-8%)
Landon Wood
Yeh that was taken today. According to Scooby's bodyfat caliper measurement tool I'm 13%. Maybe 14%. Don't wanna go below 90kg desu. As Rippletits says, 'an adult male weighs at least 200lbs'.
Nolan Nguyen
trust me weight is only a number if you get very lean you will feel like a god and look "bigger" than at 100kg
i personally find that its worth it for those cuts and striations and veins that appear everywhere
(pic is frank yang)
but if you only want to take it easy then dont go below 90
