How long did it take you to hit 1/2/3/4?

How long did it take you to hit 1/2/3/4?
a-a-asking for a friend

1 -> 5-6 months
2 -> 9-10 months
3 -> 8-9 months
4 -> 9-10 months

for 1rm 3-4 months
6'3" started weighing 175
gonna be a lot harder if you are a 5'6" turbomanlet that starts off weighing 120 lbs. though

A little under 4 months.

I can hit
>1pl8 press for 2 reps
>2pl8 bench for 1 rep
>3pl8 squat for 5 singles
>can't deadlift 4pl8 yet

Lifting 11 months

6 months on SS then i plateaued, it how i knew i was ready to transition to Texas method.

You know the question your asking is going to vary depending on diet, sleep, body type and size, right?

Should be in a qtddtot bread but is 1/2/3/4 for reps or 1rm?

yeah, but I'd like to see the differences of peoples progress either way brah

I believe for reps

I could hit the press, squats, and deads pretty much straight away. Bench took me a long time like 4 months

You believe wrong.

fuck. Guess that would make reaching it far easier though

If you’re not hitting those within the first month of lifting you’re a low test soyboy

I’m at 2/4/6/8 at this point been lifting for 6 months.

8 months

1rm

weak bro... I hit 3.5/6/8/11 after 3.... what the fuck have you been doing?

>8

Do you weigh 500lbs?

the average male is about 400lbs, user

>Amerifat believe this.

you know what they say, GOMAD or GOHOME ;)

ok, let me make you sad really quick

myself:
1: about a year
2: two years
3: about a year
4: six months

friend:
1: never seen him overhead press
2: two months
3: a week (started 275 on day 1)
4: a week

now a top 100 national lifter in his weightclass

damn, what a onion-fueled monstrosity.

if you want to get even more sad, ed coan squatted 500 as a 16 year old after a few months of lifting (and only weighed like 180lbs or some shit)

there are some real freaks out there

yeah, someone will always do better. They can be born with amazing genetics and make amazing gains, while you not so much. That only makes me strive to better myself to. Kinda feels like achieving something you had to work real hard for, you know?

What le fug? What was your athletic background and weight?

He lyin, it is for 5 reps

1/2/3/4 is plates? Seriously? Dyel? I always assumed it was numberXbodyweight

Should take you Anywhere from 6-8 months. Shouldn’t take you more than a year.

I hit 1/2/3/4 before I even lifted a weight, hit 2/3/4/5 after 2 days training. also,
>6'5
>8×6 benis
>6 figure engineering job

>DYEL

do you? a 4x bodyweight deadlift for a 200lb man would have them among the elite of the elite in the world, and would not be thrown around as a strength standard so casually

Wait, what? I thought it is for 5reps? Are you telling me I have reached 1/2/3/4? Are you just fucking with me?

no way are you me

I'm was sure it was meant for reps, anyway:
1: 2 months
2: almost there (10 lbs to go)
3: I'm at 2
4: I'm at 2.5

3 months of SS, coming from a chalistenics background (6.1, 200 lbs)

>tfw could bench more but too scared to ask for a spotter

Over two years.
I was an untrained 32yo with a bit too much love for beer. Could have been half a year sooner by my calculations.
The OHP took me a year. It should be 1.5/2/3/4 .

ask you nigger
or add more reps

>Are you telling me I have reached 1/2/3/4? Are you just fucking with me?
Dissapointing. Isnt it? I thought I'd be swole by then lol im DYEL as fuck.

ohp 1 month
bench 2 months
squat 10-11 months
deadlift 2 years

6 months lifting...

OHP at 115 for 5 reps
Bench at 200 for 5 reps
Squat at 285 for 3 reps (grinding the shit out of this)
Deadlifts at 4pl8s for 5 reps (just reached this at my last diddly workout on Sunday)

Guys I'm 1/2/2/4 for reps wtf is wrong with me

3 months
i don't bench
4 months
6 months

1 - slightly less than a year
2 - a year
3 - 13 months
4 - 2 years
reason for this is shitty programs with no deadlift volume and because I started at 110 pounds bodyweight

Failing bench isn't the end of the world. Can always roll it off and rerack, though it is kinda shameful.

about 2.5 months

Very dissapointing. Guess my goal still stands though, 1/2/3/4 for 5 reps

I would rather die under the weight of the bar than have to do the roll of shame again

Like 3 months after lifting, diddly 4 month

I dont know what this means. Please explain

lurk more or get the fuck out

1 plate is how much again?

>fucking americunts and their retarded system

Non retarded answer:
1pl8: 60kg
2pl8: 100kg
3pl8: 140kg
4pl8: 180kg

This refers to 20kg bar+20kg plates on each side.

personally have these 2 friends with the giantgene. both fucking 6'4 tall and started lifting together.
Long story short gains were made both around 700kg overall in a fucking year. not even jelly

Way too fucking long.
Feels good tho.
Do realise it's just an arbitrary number.

I'm a gym noob and after I finish my finals at the end of this month I'm starting with Reg Parks regime, doing some soft calistenics of the mean time, wish me luck!

The red standard oly pl8 is 25kg

Around 4-5months for the top 3. I didn't hit 4pl8 deadlift until around a year of lifting (for a set of 5). I used to have real bad form problems with deadlifts however, hence why progression was a lot slower.

Stop confusing the newfriends.
Everywhere except america uses 20kg plates as reference.

international 1pl8 standard = 25kg
"american 1pl8 standard"= 45lbs (20,4kg)

Just ask, you fuCking faggot. You're in the gym to grow, aren't you? Grow your social skills, it only takes 2 minutes

I've been lifting almost 2 years and I can only do 1 pl8 ohp for 1. I don't know what all my 1rm are but I'm at .9/1.55/2.25/2.8 for 5 each. I used to be able to deadlift a little over 3pl8 for 5 but I hurt my back a couple months ago and I have to be careful with it for a while until I get my strength back. Having said that I barely monitor my diet at all other than avoiding junk food and making sure I get enough protein.

>~20% more pl8s lifted for a given weight

This is why America dominates weightlifting. Get with the progral, commies

Its for reps actually, anyone who tells you its for 1rm is a huge cocksucking faggot.

6-8 months, but i got an athletic background so I had a head start.
I started at:
35kg OHP
60kg bench
100kg squat
120deadlift

Fuck you, report back when you diddly 4pl8

i would rather fail a bench than a squat or diddly
i failed a 315lb bench with no spotter and was surprised how easily I just stood up with it

Genetic thrash posting

Been lifting for almost 2 years still have not hit any of 1/2/3/4.

3x8, 5x5, 3x5,greyskull nothing works when your genes are telling you that youre born to be a soyboy. So all you average joes in this thread be happy with your gains

Pathetic. Do you even eat?

Of course Ive tried bulking which sadly only yielded a bunch of fat and childbearing hips

Lifted for 1.5 years at age 18, quit. Now 22, lifting 3 months with better diet
Can do 140 OHP for 5
Can do 215 BP for 3
Had to scrap squat form due to mobility, can do like 180 for 5 as of fixing it last week.
Deadlift is 315.

6'1 220

I gave up lifting 3 years ago.

I could do all of them by the time I was 17( 5'8" 155). Rise above lifting mates. Transcend.

I thought this meant
1x bodyweight OHP
2x bw bench
3x bw squat
4x bw deadlift

Are you sure it's not because there's 320 million people in America and 13% of them were bred selectively like 5 generations ago?
