What did you eat today, Veeky Forums?

As in title. Greentext recipe and post photo.
gyro hack:
>coarsely chop shrooms (regular ones) and ONIONS
>add in non stick pan with little water
>add some oil too. You wanted gyro, it's not supposed to be too macro friendly.
>spice with salt, garlic powder, smoked paprika, thyme, bit of chili and a tiny bit of cumin
>or just cajun mix if lazy
>add legumes for a better macro but worse texture tradeoff (worse in this context doesn't mean "bad", it means "less faithful to gyro")
>set on low, don't forget to shake or stir every now and then
>set finely chopped greens (any) onto wrap bread (any). I am partial to iceberg and white tortillas
>add mustard, ketchup, raw onion, hummus, garlic sauce, tzatziki, whatever you'd use normally
>wait until there's no water in the pan or until onions are completely soft and translucent (whichever comes last, if water evaporates too early then add more)
>serve, wrap, eat
sauteed mushrooms are incredibly close to the taste and texture of gyros.
if you're rich, buy shittake. They're even closer.
For 3 XL tortilla wraps I used 1 drained can of chickpeas (I prefer kidney beans but I just had chickpeas), 250 g regular mushrooms (the cheapest ones), half of a huge onion and 3 tbsp olive oil.
The raw part was a couple leaves of iceberg per wrap (finely chopped), a drizzle of vegannaise, no onions because I ran out (but they do fit the flavour profile if you have them), and the senap grov mustard from ikea.
If I did it again I would put a tiny bit of raw onion slices and just use a regular sour but non sweet mustard - this one from ikea goes better with neutral tastes like dogs or tofu, and this wrap is all but neutral in taste by itself

Where is the meat?

Fuckin' nice bro, making that right now

Cool, post pics
I didn't feel like using any

Britfag says eat your soup.

Potato and adzuki bean today - 4 onions and a little frozen veg.
Honey and ginger.

>4 onions

Sorry - I cooked them.

Will say that the onion meme opened my eyes.

Raw diced onion can be added to almost anything as a garnish.
Would probably be nice I'm this soup.

Also - soup appreciation.
It's just concentrated nutrition.

you said onions, but those look like chick peas

Nothing

onions make everything savory taste 10x better
maybe try reading?

today I learned what a legume is

>5 McDonalds cheeseburgers
>6 chocolate digestives
>Pot Noodle
>liter of milk

wtf is a chocolate digestive.

is that just a word for food?

"i ate a pizza digestive yesterday. deep dish sucks."

they're biscuits

they are a type of biscuit called "digestive" for some fuckin reason

In america they'd be called cookies I think

:)
wtf that barely counts as food lol
sort yourself out bucko

bloatmaxx harder

>wtf is a chocolate digestive
burger pls

Yeah I'm American and have had em. They're usually pretty bland, plain cookies/biscuits

wtf.

what kind of fucking place calls their cookies digestives?

i guess maybe it's one way to discourage obesity... make all the unhealthy food sound like geriatric laxative medication?

it's a brand you retard
like taco bell, they don't literally put fucking bells in the tacos

A digestive biscuit, sometimes described as a sweet-meal biscuit, is a semi-sweet biscuit that originated in Scotland, and is popular worldwide. The digestive was first developed in 1839 by two Scottish doctors to aid digestion at a place called Logie Steading in Forres.[1] The term "digestive" is derived from the belief that they had antacid properties due to the use of sodium bicarbonate when they were first developed.[2] Historically, some producers used diastatic malt extract to "digest" some of the starch that existed in flour prior to baking.[3][4]

this is just madness.

today i learned that scottish cookies are called "digestives" because of ancient scottish doctors being wrong about cookies being healthy.

wtf that's somehow hilarious

>it's 2am
>fast day
>haven't been feeling hungry at all
>housemate gets home from work
>cringe as I hear the stove click
>smell of sauted onion fills my room
>I can smell the pork now
>he's making burritos
>tfw he's some genetic ubermensch and can eat anything while still looking amazing
>tfw I'm untermensch and have to diet and fast to look halfway decent

OK what the fuck is this recipe. Is this bait?
>adding water before oil
>garlic powder
>iceberg lettuce
>white tortilla

To answer your question, today I ate com ga, kimchi, peanuts, ice cream, and bo la lot. Not a particularly good macro day so I might make myself some soup in a bit. That will involve two eggs and some greens at least.

>bait?
no
>adding water before oil
Yes. Helps reduce the volume of the mushrooms and onions before adding the oil, also contributes heavily on mixing the flavors.
>garlic powder
ran out of actual garlic
>iceberg lettuce
there is literally nothing tastier
>but muh nutrients!
shut up fag
>white tortilla
see "iceberg"

Made it myself.
added kidney beans into the "meat"
filling for tortilla:
hummus, "meat", lettuce, tomatoes, ketchup, shredded vegan cheese.

looks rad user, should have added tomatos myself desu
