The rooting and bracing concepts apply to all lifts, not just squatting.

i tried weightlifting shoes first time, been squatting 7 years.

Now that shit felt like cheating. It made squatting so easy especially drive out of the bottom.

why do they call it powerlifting when everyone is a cuck

>contest of strength

The absolute state desu lad

What were you using before?

if that's your doggo it's very cute, how old?

BRRRRRRRR SQUIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISSSSH PLOP PLOP

wow that took a long time for the Norman khan to be squished out I was sitting here forever

Squiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiish plopPLOP plop

WEEW I

isn't the norman khan guy well gone from Veeky Forums?

Probably. Sean's autism knows no bounds.

I can see that, ever since last thread with the user linking a 2015 thread i've been going through some older threads and honestly Sean displays signs of being on the spectrum.

Go compete, faggot.

>Dana Linn and Rob Bailey are awesome. They were on the newest episode of Bradley Martyn's podcast, which is really good btw. If you don't like him you probably just dont like his social media character. He's pretty normal and chill on the podcast.

Who are you quoting?

Hey. You.

Quit powerlifting.

No

Is this Veeky Forums addiction? Where you post just for the sake of it.

some gde

check this out
>black.iron_tarkusDeadlifts 365x3 then 315x7 on a stiff bar.
kek why do gdes think that that low weight on a stiffbar matters i mean you need at least 500 to get some bend out of a dl bar

Is stiff bar just normal bar?

Will you start rowing again?

would you at least link us the shit or even post a screenshot?
>kek why do gdes think that that low weight on a stiffbar matters
same reason guys that squat sub 200kg (usually sub 140kg) think they're impressive because they do it to muh ATG. Just a massive cope.

Is this what you say to yourself in the mirror every night m8?

No, it's stiff

Come train with us

no its stiff you dummy

hey I squat 175 and I dont think thats impressive even tho it's high bar.

And you think 200kg squat morning is impressive? lol

i wasted time doing highbar atg for a long time becuz i got memed into it being a ''real squat''

i became a bigboi once i switched to lowbar

I'm talking about the guys that would comment on something like a Malachiyev or Big Ray squat.
>outing himself as a sub 200kg squatter
lel

>he doesn't do both

No, it's stiffer than a beater bar which is what most gyms have, but the difference they're commenting on is it's not a deadlift bar, which are longer, thinner and have more whip.

Real bigbois go high for hypertrophy and low for peaking/meets

>he does hypertrophy blocks

>No gallons of milk

Should I start wearing a belt before I hit 2/3/4 or after?

Vaginas can be a little strange looking, but they are a lot of fun. One day you might get to see one in person.

>reading up on a physiology paper
>promiscuous people are more likely to have deeply embedded mental health disorders
Alex btfod by science

I'm sure the study is mostly referencing women. Nobody gives a shit if a man has a mental disorder. He needs to man the fuck up and get over it.

Keep coping about being a virgin though.

>a 40kg 40 year old woman runs in fear as I politely ask her if I can deadlift on the platform where she is stretching
is this what making it means???

>be new
>squats start at 3x5x60
>work up to 3x5x120 over a couple of months, feels VERY hard, failing sets
>fuck up knee
>don't squat for six months, don't do any other lower body lifts except for light deadlifts
>start babby's linear progression again
>start with the empty bar, take 10 kg jumps at first, then 5, then 2.5
>just squatted 3x5x145, felt a little hard but doable, i'm estimating i can keep adding 2.5 kg each day for one or maybe two more weeks
what the fuck
apparently the way to get stronger is not to lift for 6 months????????

When you stop Lifting for a while you don't go completely back to zero. Your central nervous system gets rusty and you lose some muscle, but it comes back quicker when you have a background of strength training

Floor presses are the best thanks gbro

Yes, it comes back more quickly, I understand that.
What I find weird is that I was failing 5x120, and now I'm doing 5x145 and still have some room for improvement.

What's hard to understand? You improved your fitness, and you dissipated all the fatigue you accumulated the first time around

>promiscuity literally entails letting multiple people swap bodily fluids with you
>is and always has been one of the leading ways to catch a bunch of incurable diseases that can cause life long health problems
This is clearly an activity that mentally balanced people with mature priorities would engage in, for sure.

Kinda bizarre that we’re so screwed up over sex that this even needs studying. If you’d asked anyone over the age of 25 a hundred or so years ago if they thought having sex with multiple near or complete strangers was a good idea, they’d have literally no problem telling you all the reasons it was a stupid idea.

It's funny how things work like that.
I find we naturally get stronger from life in general and that extra rest seems to do more good than bad.

You sound lonely, user. I hope you can find happiness one day.

projection

projection

He's not promiscuous, he just can't get over his ex.

projection

Panasonic-tier projection, lad.

Also every girl he goes on a date with ends up doing a good job hiding how fat she was in her photos.

Not all of them kek. That was only 2. The last girl I went out with I actually really like.

That why you made a skin suit out of her?

N-no, that's why I have a second date with her next week.

It'd be better to make a skin suit out of one of the fat ones, no?

Well duh

Can anyone recommend me some good 3D animated porn? I hate how Umemaro looks. Kunoichi is good, but all those monsters... Ugh.

Good going lad. Saving the skin suit bit for later, when it’s appropiate. Respectful. Old school. Hopefully it pays off.

17 anime boards, this is not one.

Do you guys, like have strict routines
I have first two + assistance as strict and then I just exhaust bodyparts, but the lifts change in these.

I guess it's a 50% daily undulating periodization.

I'm trying to bond with you people.

modded skyrim

I do
squat/bench/deadlift/floor press
beltless squat/ohp/powerclean
squat/bench/deadlift/floor press

Rest is gbro's accesory routine. You know. 100 reps of this, 50 reps of that.

I don't have set volume and intensity, I go by feel.

guess who's involved?
protip: it starts with j and ends with ews

I hate Jews soooooo much

>you dissipated all the fatigue you accumulated the first time around
I guess that's it
so essentially yeah, to get stronger you should stop lifting

only if you have no clue what youre doing

>so essentially yeah, to get stronger you should stop lifting
Even though you're being a sarcastic little bitch, you have discovered the usefulness of the deload.

Use it smarter next time and you might eventually lift something respectable.

example of my 1st bench day is bench/dips/jm press but then I just pick lifts to exhaust shoulder/chest/triceps after I'm done with them.

I've measured my progress with progress in strict lifts and they've been improving.

Just kinda wondering how fucking stupid this is or is anyone doing the same. First I had to do this because gym got crowded after NYE and then I just kinda stick with it since it seemed to work and allowed some flexibility in things.

>to get stronger you should stop lifting
Well, the time you spend lifting is minimal part of the day measurred in time. Rest is rest.

No deload is gay just go for 1RMs every day when you're deloading. And get back on your routine when you RMs stop increasing. That way you peak AND deload.

you don't have to rest six months you quadruple moron

>3 times a week
>deadlifts
>alternate ohp/bench
>finish workout with pull-ups/ light rows/ curls
legs are already pretty disproportionate, so no squats
sound ok?

do squats you poof

Three days a week, squat press pull.

Monday is heavy squat, medium press, medium pull. Wednesday is light squat,
light press, heavy pull. Friday is medium squat, heavy press, light pull.

I like one max set and then a few descending/back off sets for heavy days, and sets across for everything else. Don’t really do accessories regularly but will hammer out some curlz or ghr after the main lifts because I find they help nagging elbow and back pain.

>Do you guys, like have strict routines
Yes.

Primary Lift - 3x5, 3x3, or 5/3/1 + 3-5x5 first set last.

Secondary Lift - 3x10, 8/8/6, or 3x5.

Accessories - 5 sets of 10-15 reps.

>No deload is gay just go for 1RMs every day when you're deloading. And get back on your routine when you RMs stop increasing. That way you peak AND deload.
First year lifting is really fun.

I think rigidly sticking to a pre-defined routine is stupid once you hit intermediate. If you have an experienced coach watching over you and adjusting on the fly then sure you can follow his continually updated routine. Otherwise it's not gonna work.

Same

>strict routines
law of accomodation if you only squat bench or deadlift after a while you stop progressing you start getting worse its a biological law if you keep doing the same thing you can only get worse you gotta keep changing the special exercises listen to me our guys are the strongest in the world we change special exercise every frikkin week one day we do floor press next week we do pin press next week we do banded press against chains. to adapt is to never fully adapt

its all math

i was mainly meaning of just doing different bicep versions and not sticking to one and the same for 12 weeks

Ohhhh you're a weak twink.

you gotta keep changing the special exercises this is key weight training is all mathematics listen to ,me our guys would have 45 special exercise to choose from i got this from the books of zochanchovsky and bompa i read in 87' the old soviets had over 150 special exercise to choose from we got 45 you see powerlifting is simple maximum strength sport we dont perform strength speed but we do use bands at 25% band tension for speed-strength on dynamic effort day you see the bar has to move at 0 point 8 meters per second make sure to write this down i got a lot of info

I'm so glad Louie posting is making a comeback.

i may be posting louie style but its all facts; since its all math and physics you cant deny it

how to program them?

since its an accessory 5+ reps for a couple of sets

i myslelf use 1@8 for these since youve got no idea what weight you can manage plus it might go up fast initially. gbro does 4x8 and increases volume to 8x8 over 4 weeks and resets back and higher start weight

>back is healing up slowly but steadily
>did deadlifts yesterday for the first time since the injury (just a few easy sets at 135 to feel it out)

Feels good, I'm gonna call 2018 the year of getting huge.

Pretty good, I'm applying for a post-grad that has me living & working abroad in the third world for 6 months (sort-of-internship). Went to a first intake meeting, the lady there made some proposals on which position in which organisation would fit my background and was pleasantly surprised. She refered me to the person responsible for the students going to Bhutan and apparently he has some history related positions (I've got a masters in history) so hopefully I'll be spending half a year in the Himalayas helping a local organisation either develop cultural heritage tourism or archiving ancient texts. Either way it would exceed my expectations since I wasn't expecting them having anything history related, I figured I'd end up teaching some poor children or helping in an orphanage or sth.
So yeah I'm feeling very hopeful.

this is projection boys and girls.
