Deadlifting was my favorite exercise for the six months that I could do them. Fuck squats, fuck bench, fuck curls, fuck them all, for me it was the deadlift. It made me look huge almost instantly thanks to the newb gains I made. Then one day I tried the fucking low bar squat, apparently with incorrect form, and fucked my shit up. Snap city, etc. I went to the doc and they say it's a herniated disc. They asked if I want to get it fixed, which is free because socialism. I want to get it fixed, but I can't right now because I'm about to get a new job and move to a new city.
I've done the weird exercises as a natural remedy to get this fixed, but they don't really help other than for a moment. I've seen Athlean-X's video on how it works and seen a couple of different doctors about it too. Shit doesn't help.
Fuck man, I just want to deadlift but I don't want to fuck up my back more than I already have. And if I get the surgery I don't want to snap that shit up again.
- If I get the surgery, when can I expect to deadlift again? Obviously I would start with low weights and focus entirely on proper form. I don't give a shit about squats anymore, because I don't care one bit about legs to be honest. - If I don't get the surgery and don't feel pain WHILE powering through with deadlifts anyways, will I just fuck my shit up more or will it somehow strengthen my back to the point where I won't make it worse?

Fixed herniated disc naturally and lifting 3.5pl8 deadlift and 110 kg squat for reps after 6-7 months back lifting here
Go to a physio. Take some rest before that. I had to take 2 years of complete rest and then physio to fix my shit. Plus it took me months before I could add anything more to an empty bar. But with patience and persistence you’ll be back
Best of luck OP

What do you mean? They're not mutually exclusive. I am only doing chin-ups and push-ups at home right now in an attempt to get my lower back to recover and my sciatica to go away. I can still function in my daily life.
Landon Russell
OP here, I was indeed doing SS. inb4 "reee should have bought the fucking book best investment of muh lyf" spare me dude

Michael Lopez
the only reason he does is because its the easiest movement to move a lot of weight. its just an ego thing weve all been there
Logan Stewart
and this invalidates liking deadlifts because?
Logan Edwards
No, it's because it is the best fucking strength exercise of them all. I really don't see why you're busting my balls about this. My lifts weren't even impressive, my max was 110 kg, ~240 lbs.
Levi Lopez
we got another boys

I herniated a disc last week and saw a physical therapist yesterday and today and I'm back to 70% mobility. I'm surprised nothing is working, if you're seeing professionals.

SQUATS and shitlifts claim another victim
