When you watch the NFL and you realise you are a nobody

Why lift, why do anything in life when these guys are stars, good genetics, healthy as fuck, good salary and 10/10 wife/gf, why?

You think it just landed in their lap out of nowhere? They busted their ass off. J.J. Watt goes to bed at 8:00 PM. His whole fucking life revolves aroud this. He is giving everything 24/7. What you hear CT Fletcher rant about is literally what these stars are doing. They give it all to be at the top of their game. Same with Elon Musk, same with the President, Cristiano Ronaldo, Magnus Carlsen, Freddy Mercury, von Neumann, Buffett, etc, etc, etc. Find your sport, whether it be football, finance, science, business, the piano, cooking, psychology, etc, and give it all. Find that one thing that really turns you on and give it all you've got.

But you quit when things become hard. It's a generation of pussies.

/thread

And just lol at your life if you think they do this for fame & status.

Comparing yourself to other, especially people who aren't even in your personal realm is the surest sign of a beta. Who gives a fuck if you don't stack up against somebody who neither you nor anyone you'll ever know will ever even be in the same room with? You're in a totally different set of social hierarchies. Stay in your damn lane.

>good genetics

>social hierarchies
Adhering to social hierarchies is beta, if anything.

Not OP, but someone who's come to these realizations later in life than I needed to. Its incredibly easy to be nihilistic about it. To be that good, you need to have started at a young age. Probably 12 at the latest.

Success comes from intelligence and time invested, and in this day and age, with parents as poor as they are now days, kids arent being taught how to be successful and are only realizing what it takes both on their own and about 10 years later than it should be taught. At least in wealthy liberal areas this is very much the case.

I'm 20 currently and I'm just now realizing how life works on a success based level. What it takes to be the best. There's a new generation of kids who have no clue how the fuck they can contribute to society, and you even see this up into Ivy League schools.

Once you screw your head on straight, you're so far behind that its not even funny. Months, years, if you're unlucky now, you can completely ghost on responsibilities until you're about 25 or 30 with no immediate consequences.

The realization that you've wasted every opportunity given, and realizing just how much work you need to do to catch up is absolutely crippling.

But, everyone needs to keep their head up and progress each day at a time. Life sucks, its never going to be great, but you get to choose your sacrifices and you get to chose what you want out of those sacrifices, that's free will. A professional football player like Brady lives, breaths, sleeps, and shits football, that's his entire life. And if anybody wants to be anybody, that's the attitude you need to take.

Because you can get a similar life with enough effort?
If you just want everything handed to you in a plate, kill yourself and hope you reincarnate into Chad or something.

You don't adhere to them by choice, they're ever-present because people are always sizing each other up.
Do I have to bring up lobsters or do we all get that point by now?

they all busted their ass off but they also all have incredible natural talent at the things they excel at

if you lift for any other reason than

A) you enjoy it
or
B) it facilitates something you enjoy

then lmao at you

Comparison, and the realization of what it takes for an individual to be successful is hardly beta. Being beta is taking that realization and then doing nothing about it, languishing in your own failures and missed opportunities.

Are you being legit right now OP? There's only ever one reason. I'm gonna lift until I could pick them up by the scruff and toss them like a rag doll.
Also, fuck their "good lives", that won't even compare to the joy I'll feel when I can lift an entire mountain by myself.

>with parents as poor as they are now days
Standard of living has never been higher in the West.

Comparison to others is wasted effort regardless. The only reasonable point of comparison you have is to your past self.

>watching nigger ball thus giving money to jews and niggers

why

>good genetics
>irish
Choose one of these options.

>The realization that you've wasted every opportunity given, and realizing just how much work you need to do to catch up is absolutely crippling.
Jeff Bezos founded Amazon in his garage when he was 30 and had no prior retail or E-commerce experience. 54 years old & worth $118.8 Billion today.

All it takes is a good goal and good motivation. At least 80% can't get that together though.

I once saw it like you guys but honestly who really cares all that much ? why devote your entire life playing some retarded game ? I have a job I love, make enough money so it isnt an issue and wake up next to the love of my life every day. I dont see how things couldve gone better, wanting to be famous is just vain and self centered. Infact I am happy I dont earn my money at a job that fucks my body, forces me to roid and will more likely than not give me permanent brain damage.

But I mean if you are still young I see why you idolize these people but your romanticized version isnt the reality.

they're all developing brain damage with every hit they take, if that makes you feel any better.

why doesn't he grow a beard. Bald men look so much better with beards

Failing to recognize factors outside of yourself allows you to doom yourself to the failures others have already made. Analyzing success is a great way to achieve it, so long as you have the drive and willpower to get there. Additional information and a rough template for a position higher than your own is always useful. Mindlessly following the person you're analy

Parents poor at educating their children in life skills, not in terms of wealth. Parents are obsessed with their own jobs and success. Having a financially secure, but broken family is incredibly common. Split parents, poor finances, preoccupied parents, etc. Kids arent hearing what they need to hear to succeede. Not uncommon for an overprotective single mother to smother their kid, and with 1/4 households being single parent in the west from the last bullshit statistic I heard, you can assume a large chunk of those kids have been raised with minimal paternal supervision and support. The family system seems to be under question, and kids are suffering for it. I've been a victim in it, but I'm not going to let it hold me back. Was never strongly encouraged to work or go to school but I'm working over 40 hours so I can go to school in the fall.

Never said you should sit on your ass and eat shit about it. Everyone should strive to be better, but self realization to those without success is a bitter pill to swallow. Its not easy to become an adult, and the current education and parental system, at least from my experience, has done a generally poor job of it.

fpbp

Mindlessly following will get you into deep shit, but keeping a stable mind while using every advantage will get you places.

Because 95% of people don't realise that they play football because they love it. Sit day in and day out on a single math problem that takes 2 months to solve. Play the instrument for 16 hours every single day. They love it, they don't do it for money, fame, status, women, etc. They would do it regardless.

>Its not easy to become an adult
Because you do it from within. You have everything you need.

yeah I agree with you but most people here just want to be famous, rich or whatever and they dont undestand this. What makes you happy, good at your job and fullfilled in life is doing something you love. that is all its about, who cares about fame or all the bullshit around it ? if you love it go do it and you will naturally put in the time and effort to become great at it.

>if you love it go do it and you will naturally put in the time and effort to become great at it
This is so important. For those of you who can't relate, think of a video game that you loved, that made you an addict to a degree. You need that. Natural obsession. Of course you'll do great.

Loving your job and just generally doing things that make you happy is shallow and unfulfilling. Meaningfulness is more sustainable long term.

ELON MUSK, STEVE JOBS, TOM BRADY
SUCCESS

Find me one person who loves his craft without finding purpose in it.

A lot of entertainers suffer from this. I'd imagine it exists in the athletic and pro gamer communities as well. People in the porn industry also.

Jacking off makes me happy. But if I was told to jack off for a living, I'd be left unfulfilled. There's enjoyment there, but no fulfillment.

cos you like it you fucking fuck. Its part of enjoying your sorry life. I am also a pathetic piece of shit. But I least I enjoy doing something that makes me feel good. Now excuse me Im gonna eat chicken breast with rice and then smoke a fat blunt.

They don't love what they're doing then.

>porn industry
>gamer communities
Really? You couldn't come up with something better. Also, maybe it's the only thing that helps them cope.

Jacking off is not a craft and should be compared to a drug. And there is purpose in reproducing.

...

Because of loss of purpose, loss of satisfaction from whatever you're doing in life.

Hey the dream is to be sustainably happy. Living and breathing football is one way, having a good job and a loving wife is another. I'm happy you've found your own success, but I'd be hesitant to talk shit about the people who want to reach higher than you. No two people have the same goals.

I know user, I can and am doing it. Its not been an easy process. I think everyone needs some degree of support in transition, I feel a bit left out in that regard. No matter, I'm grinding hard at a job to pay for my school so I can find some degree of success in my life. I cannot stand the idea of being a walking talking shell that holds no value to society as a whole. Fuck that shit. I'm going to be somebody, help or not.

You’re mentally retarded if you think that’s all it takes and it shows how you have never worked hard in your life. If you have worked hard or had any success, you would know that’s not all it takes to get to the top. I have always had a passion for physics, had all the privileges learning tons of math and but justice at a young age from my father, and studied textbooks and thought to myself about physics and the required mathematics AT LEAST 6-8 hours a day for like 15 years straight in my life (age 15-30) with most of my PhD and post doc years doing over 10 hours a day. I took no weekends off or vacations because it’s what I loved. But I just don’t have whatever it is that makes people good theoretical Physicists—I can’t write good papers. I ended up with only tenure track offers from tier 3 and below unis and am going for that now because it’s what i love idc about the prestige. But nobody outside my field has ever heard of me or my results and the smartest guys I know are inconceivably better than me.

What about Tolstoy?

Try making out with your son.
You absorb some of their youth and will be GOAT at whatever you do.

Work smarter tbqh.

And harder.

srs quit your bitching

What about Tolstoy?

Me again. That’s being said, I agree OP is being a beta fag for crying about this. Day to day I don’t compare myself to people who are more successful than me. I do my best at what i love and wanna just improve myself, and am plenty happy with my life.

>this happened

then find something. I won't fall on your lap. Become the person you thought you were going to be when you were 10. ONE small step at a time.

>AT LEAST 6-8 hours
Yeah, you need to up that to 12-14, mate, or rethink how you work. 12-14 is not unheard of at all with these people. We're talking literal obession. You have to ask yourself if that's what you want, though. People fucking ski for 8 hours where I live.

>The realization that you've wasted every opportunity given, and realizing just how much work you need to do to catch up is absolutely crippling.
worst feel

Defeatism.

Good job OP you've failed Veeky Forums! You can move on to /r9k/ now! Are you proud of yourself?

even tom brady would get raised eyebrows if he divorced his wife and started dating a 21 year old chick

the true measure of happiness is dating a hot chick from 21 to 25 so who cares about everything else

I'm the user you replied to. Its a rough state of afairs, and I'm probably in just as deep as you are, but success comes to those who want it. I don't want to keep living like this, do you user?

>Bald men look so much better with beards
No.

No.

>I don't want to keep living like this, do you user?
Of course not, thats why we all work hard. For me the worst thing isn't even the success I missed out on but the fact I wasted and ignored all these opportunities given to me by my parents, school, etc. Even just having the experience would be enough.

Obviously the chances to become a professional athlete would have been low even if I started at the age of 5. But the smaller things bother me the most, I was so passive and boring during my teens.

I'm in a similar state, it sucks. Just gotta power through and live life, even with our disadvantages and wasted time. Gotta leave the past in the past and realize that success isnt out of reach, but it will take time.

>why try to improve my life when there are people out there that are better than me
I swear it's like you're a child

why lift?
maybe you can't be a star but you can be successful
you can maximize your mediocre genetics
be healthy
have a good salary and a wife who might not be 10/10, 9/10 or even 7/10 but you still love her dearly

you're fucking pathetic

reddit: the image

They genuinly believe that they have the same facial structur as the models.

It’s people like you who are never going to make it. My father went to a community college and studied biology. He worked 3 jobs to support his family in high school. My grandpa couldn’t afford sending him to college even on a scholarship (Wharton).

Today he’s worth 8 fucking figures by working hard in his business and doing what he loves. Let go of that fucking defeatist attitude OP. Tom Brady works like a dog everyfucking day at 41 to win and he is worth hundreds of millions.

Put in the hours and work smart doing what you love OP. You will not regret it

>Using the porn industry as a reference point

Tf do you want to be a stripper or something?

You're just complaining now dude shut the fuck up

he was pointing out that just because you enjoy something (ie sex) doesn't mean it's a viable, meaningful, or satisfying career.

>im 20 currently

oh look, its another 18-20 year old on fit rambling like he is saying anything smart and knows about life.

>Veeky Forums is actually motivating each other again
What year is it.

You should've pursued something you're naturally talented in. That was mistake number one, assuming this happened, of course.

Tom wasn’t always a turbo-chad though

I thought american footballers were suppose to be big, look at this Tom Hardy... he's a total dyel.

>plays niggerkneel
>healthy

lol

Curtis Martin is in the Hall of Fame and has never watched a football game for pleasure in his life. James Harrison just said last week that he likes watching cartoons more than sports, and doesn't watch football unless it's for film.

Some of these guys are just born freakishly talented.

To be fair Eminem almost did give up. Sure it was after his initial success but after Encore he wasnt doing shit to better his craft. He was sitting around, popping pills, eating McDonalds, watching TV and sleeping all day every day.

That's your fault thinking you were gonna be some scientific smarty pants when most people with PhD's going under some field have been following it since the day of their birth.

Sorry lad, but it's a mix of hard work, and starting from the beginning, and being jewish (master race)
