>tired of not being in shape

>try it
>it fucking works, im not benching or squatting that much right now but already adding 10 lbs on days i go to gym
>literally hate working out always have
>finish this workout in 20 mins
>feel 200% better and cleaned my room for first time in 4 month
>talked to cute girl for first time in 4 month
>thoughts are clear now
>only 1 week in
was it really this easy?

>finish this workout in 20 mins

>5x5
>20 minutes

First week is always good because you're motivated. I'd say step up with a program of excercises you think are fun and start eating right aswell.

getting in shape for the first time, no matter what method, will spark a ton of motivation and energy that was previously untapped. your body is responding to actually being used for once.

if you start at barbell weight as recommended, the movements will be quick, rest periods will be 90 seconds, and it should only take 25 minutes.

>went from skinny-fat to this in 5 weeks

thank you Veeky Forums, I mean that

>First week is always good because you're motivated
This.
Every other fag can have a nice and pumped first week. I always see new faces in my gym, few are the ones that are always there.
It's about consistency and discipline, not motivation and enthusiasm

is 5x5 really that effective
full disclosure i'm a dyel who hasn't been in a gym since high school but it always seemed sort of insufficient to me

Rate of adaptation for a novice using barbells and using relatively light weight will make insane progress. Either on some 5x5 or starting strength 3x5. People love to over complicate training for novices and dont seem to realize it really only takes 6 months max to be repping 3 plate squats and deadlifts and 2 plate bench press. The same people who over complicate novice programs are the same people who can only squat 200 pounds after years of training.

Literally any beginner routine that has you exerting yourself even slightly will 'be that effective'. Newbie gains are really easy to get. Just pick whatever starting program (common ones are SS, 5x5, ICF 5x5, Greyskull, 5/3/1, GZCLP) you like the sound of and stick to it.

Keep it up man, you're already on the way to making it

>you will never have a gf like this

This is the night it all ends

Wow. Those were the days. Now I'm up to
>5x185
>5x295
>5x365
>5x365
And just warmups & a 1x5 work set take 30min/lift

how easy is it to get newbie gains if you have good genes and have just been lazy your whole life? if youre 6'3 210 with a bmi of 23 or 24 how long would it take you to get to 220 and trim the fat down?

pretty damn easy. if you have decent muscles for being sedentary, you'll progress way faster than a sedentary skellie.

Pretty damn easy unless you're old af, in which case /fraud/

Post stomach. Yeah, thought so too.

HNGGGGGGHHHHHHGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

only 22, thank you so much anons you truly inspired me

...

Keep going. The workouts get longer and harder, but holy fuck is life better

>He actually posted it
Not bad man

Wait so how did you do bench?

Did you ask people to spot you while just starting out using less than 1pl8? I feel silly asking people to spot me when using that baby beginner weight so just do DB press but feel like im not pushing myself enough and don't wanna use the smith machine

What about PPL?

It's getting there. I changed my eating habits as well. Lots of clean food. I'm sure it's had a big impact on my progress.

Just don't put on safety clips and if you fail your rep tilt the bar to one side so the weights can drop off

Sounds dangerous my gym is too busy to be sliding weights off and letting them drop on the floor and will be embarrassing when it makes a noise and everybody looks

Then quit being a bitch and ask for a spot. No one cares dude. Any gym I've ever been to is full of dudes on their best behavior, courteous as fuck, and willing to help. People act like that because we're all sharing equipment and no one is there looking for trouble (generally), they just want to lift. You can't have 50 gym rats with bad attitudes all in the same room. If you're in a gym full of dick heads, change gyms because that's not normal.

just do the "roll of shame". slowly drop the bar to your chest, roll it down to your hips, and "deadlift" it off while standing up.

Good for you faggot. However people exercise 4-6 times a week for an hour or more for years. You just did your first week. Not trying to be a dick but chances are you will burn out and quit within the month. First couple of weeks are always easy. Stay the corse faggot.

were you on SS? Or what routine were you on?

>>never got noob gains
fml

Imagine going to the gym and thinking 5x5 is enough for the day

Either don't give a fuck what other people think about your lifts or don't go to the gym at all.

Could could just ask some stranger to spot you but it sounds like you're kind of a sperg

>stay the corse

It's "coarse," you miscreant.

Daily reminder motivation is a false god.
You do what is necessary.

*quartz

This.

I'm 33. I don't want to lift anymore. I don't want to stand under a heavy ass bar. I don't want to pick up a giant weight off the ground. I don't want to hit the punching bag or do sprints.

But I do it anyways.

Not with that attitude. It’s that fucking simple. Why would she give herself to someone who didn’t think he could get her. Man up

I hope you're being ironic. It's "course," as in a route or direction.

Really not bad

>route
It's "root" you fucking moron

>t. typical 'phone browsing between sets' normie

Stop crapping up the benches with your useless ass, do your sets and FUCK OFF

YES

I

WILL

Imagine being a beginner you fuckin reject

>only takes 6 months max to be repping 3 plate squats

u wat

>5 sets of 5
You will stall out EXTREMELY fast, retard. 5 sets of 5 is a LOT of volume for a beginner. Do 3 sets of 5 reps, this will ensure that you can add weight every time you go to the gym.
>b-but i haven't stalled yet
when you do, drop the extra two sets and do 3x5

> rest periods will be 90 seconds
when you are doing STRENGTH training you rest as much as it takes to be able to complete the next set. This is strength training, not cardio.

The best piece of advice I can give a noob is to just buy the book Starting Strength I had downloaded it but I never read it until I actually decided to buy it. I recommend reading the final chapter first because chapters 1-7 focus on HOW to do the lift, which you can use youtube for, and chapter 8 focuses on what the SS routine is and why it works better than anything else (for a noob) and why you should do it etc. Just to be clear, I am not saying skip chapters 1-7, I am saying chapter 8 will influence how you train far more than the other chapters. You will still need to read the other chapters though. Also the book contains a ton of technical information for coaches and such, information meant to prove why the program works, but if you are a layman the vast majority of the information will go over your head, and can safely be skipped anyway. Someone post a pic of SS page 32 as an example, it's all amount the physics of moment arms, useful if you want to use science to prove why SS is GOAT, but not necessary for the noob trainee

it's true. if you are doing SS, you are deadlifting three times a week. if you are adding 5lbs to your DL every workout, thats 15lb a week, thats ~60 lb a month, that's ~320lb in 5 months even if you start at zero

i meant to say, skip to chapter 8, but still go back and read 1-7. i am not saying that you never need to read the book

Kek Im doing 3pl8 for 5 reps and have been on SS for only 3 months

>when you are doing STRENGTH training you rest as much as it takes to be able to complete the next set. This is strength training, not cardio.
right, but when you're starting out on a barbell alone, you don't need to rest much at all unless you're a girl with 0 muscle. which is why it goes fast. after you start putting plates on the bar, then it starts taking a long time, yes.

You must be new here, the sad reality is that strength and size is easy to come by if you just work smart. Many posters on nu fit just want to curl or do sissy squats and thats fine but don't let it make you think a 3plate squat is god tier. Most people get to a 3 plate squat and a 185 bench press around the 3 month mark like because most people don't start from 0.

Workout
Have no fetishes
Dont watch porn
Dont masterbate
Wait until marraige

Why are u trying to stop him from making it

or are u actually serious?

>finish this workout in 20 mins
>only 1 week in
>was it really this easy?

Give it three months OP, you will dread the squats.

Pro tip:

You were NOT skinny fat

Your both wrong. It's corpse.

Not the person you replied to (when are we gonna get IDs?) but what about diminishing returns?

Bro splits are shit

>moron
it's Mormon, fucking idiot

don't forget to do cardio if you really want to consider yourself "fit".
you're not in good shape if a single flight of stairs has you wheezing and out of breath.
also, don't pat yourself on the back already, a week is fucking nothing and what you are experiencing is 100 percent placebo.
good thing you got off your ass, but don't be so fucking self congratulatory about it and KEEP FUCKING GOING.

Progress slows down after about 225 DL

imagine wasting trip dubs on this faggy post

You arent shit until you go for a straight month. The people who pass that test go on to become fit, and the people who dont wind up falling off and never getting into it. Never forget your goals user.

imagine being a fat faggot on a chinese cartoon forum.
oh wait, you don't have to

solid advice.

>a month
try a year.
after that, you are guaranteed to not fall off the wagon easily.
it's never a done deal though, not until you are dead.

Has there ever been a sauce for this juicy mama

It's possible if you start as already fat.
For some skinny diel 6 months is just enough time to slip a disk from falling into fit memes.

>lifting for women
zozzle

maybe I misunderstand the term then, what I mean is that I was out of shape, had a gut, could only do one (1) chinup, but was not fat like a real fat person

You haven't even plateaued yet.

Beginner also on the same program. Did you start with 135 on deadlift or empty bar? I'm trying to figure out how to start them because my small town gym doesn't have anything to stack them on except other freeweights, and I'm averse to using those because there's not a lot to go around and I don't want to be an asshole.

Only do the roll of shame for incline bench. I snapped up my shit and now my chest cartilage has been fucked on and off for years.

am I skinny fat? unflexed

I did empty bar and kept working up till I found a 1rpm when I first started.

textbook skinnyfat.

>was it really this easy?
Kind of, the hard part is never stopping

...

>no arms
>no chest
>no legs

Jesus christ

yes this is what being skinny is, alpha chad

stay jelly faggot

Thank god for that.

Sauce on girl in pic? Would impregnate.

was 190 last year, down to 150. Glad to be skinnyfat instead of fatfat.

Lifts rn

Bench: 135 for 5 reps

OHP: 105 for 8 reps

Squat: 215 for 5 (tore meniscus last year, recently squatting again)

Deadlift: 135 for 5 (last 3 reps supinated grip)

flexing in this pic lol

>was it really this easy?
>beginner gains
yes

>rest periods will be 90 seconds,
Only if you're doing bitch weight nigga

>tfw 5'9" 135 lbs at 25
>big reason i haven't been to a gym in my life is combo of lifelong emaciation and fear of being so weak at a gym
>one time went to gym while in college with roommate, i was weak as fuck surrounded by hot girls and big lifting chads, and roommate insulted how weak i was to people we knew afterwards

>can only do 50 pounds on hydraulic bench machine at work
>can only do 60 pounds on the back row machine
>only 260 lb leg press
>still struggle curling 30 lb dumbbells even after doing it in my room for months
>too humiliated to do this in front of people

May 2017, not sure what weight that was

keep it up my dude!!!

But doesn't it sit too close to the ground for proper form? That's my main concern.

Stfu up you lying gobby giving twat

Upboat

Rare juicy pepe saved

Great job bro

It just depends on a lot of factors. I hit 405 dl,315 squat, 165 ohp, 225 bench in 5 months easy. It could have been faster too.

I was pretty weak, but I had worked out and been physically active in the past. If you are skinny as fuck and have never exercised and rarely were put into situations where you had to use dat CNS, it will probably take a year.

Genetics, diet, effort, efficiency, stress, experience all end up playing a factor.

It depends, some people need a lot more self-help than others depending on their upbringing, environment, circumstances, lifestyle, genetics, etc.

It sounds like your life is getting in order pretty fast, a.k.a you weren't working from Ree/Incel level.

Working out won't solve all of your problems but it is an excellent substitute to a healthy lifestyle.

Already got a hot gf but yeah it definitely makes you feel good

ty, I am. Started 5/3/1 this week

This shit is so fucking hot. Nevermind hardcore porn. I just want amateur girls being confident with their bodies
