It's good. I used it to study, because meditation is soooo boring. Here's how it works.

Meditation is just an exercise to develop focus for me. It's not some spiritual thingy. Just try to stop thinking at all and focus on what's in front of you.

Meditation is scientifically sound in terms of stress reduction and improving things like focus.
Anyone talking about Reiki or Chi or any of that shit is talking out their arse though.

I've tried meditating and persevering with it on different occasions but it's just impossible for me to have the patience to sit without moving or doing anything. I believe it has benefits, just can't get my body to do it. What do?

I meditated really successfully one time. Literally once. I really tried and was able to truly transcend all thought for like a half hour Afterwards the clarity was amazing I felt like each thought was new, not like the stale old thoughts you always get.

Not really. Probably because it comes from VRChat and doesn't really translate well to written social media. I know on youtube it is more well known but everywhere else no one will really understand it or find it amusing unless they've heard or seen it in some form. If you were to read OPs pic with no knowledge of it, you would have no idea about the accent you're supposed to use/hear.

but srs now, i have been meditating for 4-5 years, after year pause i have started again, and i realized how much i have been missing it after years of practice. Certain begginer practice will give person better focus, concetracion, better control of your emotions, person will be calmer in stressful situations, and after some prolonged practice, if person is really consistent, he/she will found that it is something beyond any meme. Some wacky shit happens after some prolonged practice, it is a theme more for /x/, than Veeky Forums.

I've been meditating for 10-15 mins every day for a couple months now but don't really feel any different. I have trouble clearing my mind and not thinking about anything. Got any tips for that part?

I'm able to sit still and breathe deeply with closed eyes but my mind keeps wandering.

Drive all of you concentration to a single place. Your heart is probably the easiest. Think about your heart, listen to it, feel it’s beat, forget everything else. As soon as you can focus your whole being to a single point and place, it’s much easier to just forget about everything else. Might sound clishe, but it is what it is.

Stop trying to make the thoughts go away, and start just trying to watch them pass by. You can't make them go. You have to *let* them go.

When you catch yourself drifting off, return the focus *gently* to the breath. This "catch" is the key. If your session was 9 and a half minutes of aimless thinking with one "catch" at the end just before the timer ran up, the session was a success, and will be enough to build on in practice.

The most practical appeal of meditation is practicing feeling nothing, thus it becomes easier to choose to not feel anything when something angers or upsets you suddenly. Its not new age bullshit but a useful skill you can employ.

what this guy said i will speak from personal experience here. Pic related, you were probably in the middle of the spiral when meditating, but if u persevere in your practice, your emotional state will go up, and not only that, you will start feeling that emotions troughtout the day. But it takes time, and person has to make some changes in their lifestyle otherwise it doesnt do much. Basically, everything that stimulates your senses and mind, will slow your meditation effects. Which means, everything that comes to mind trough senses and it is not of any importance for wellbeing of body and mind, and it causes stimulation is not good for emotions and therefore mind. For instance, cigs, alcohol, drugs, fapping, porn. Person has to lead really ascetic life to achieve full effects of meditation, which im sure doesnt mean much to 99% of ppl, but they are real. benefits that are listed here, are just the tip of the iceberg.
to make it really simple and accessible to readers here, when a person is in awake state, or dreaming state, he/she feels some certain emotion, and every piece of spectar of emotion that person feels attracts certain kinds of thoughts. So you are probably a begginer, i know what it felt like. Been meditating for 1 year or so, and i felt like that, so i beggan to think to myself: "so that is that, i feel calmer, i dont succumb to negative emotions that much in my life, im more grateful and shit like that, but thats it". After some time that changed, and i started to feel nothing but happiness, somethimes bliss (full body orgasms) and love for Universe. It takes time, but you person will save a lot of money that would throw on drugs.

For me I practice by closing my eyes sitting in a relaxed yet upright position. For 10 cycles I breathe in to full capacity and exhale to full capacity. I flare my nostrils to focus the sensation and forget other stimuli.

When you breath in, out, count 1. 10 times you will notice your stomach/diaphragm start to feel a little tensed sore. My ears feel tingly. I sincerely believe I'm just increasing my bodies o2 concentration significantly which leads to it. I also notice my head tends to naturally tilt up.

Its a meme. Actual meditation just means sitting down and thinking really hard. People that say things like "I meditate" or "yeah I'm just going to have a little meditation session" or "I love to meditate" are 99/100 times just pretentious retards who think they're doing something unique. The other 1/100 is just a person who gets what it means but doesn't have the social awareness to realise they're using the more pretentious semantic.

I believe in meditation. You are basically giving your brain a break. It distorts your current thought path and let's you start a new in the middle of the day. When I'm pissed I sit down anywhere and I meditate. I have to or my anger will decimate my entire day.

Jhana stage 1 is marked by full body rapture and bliss but not the endgame by any measure according to texts. Consistant refinement of concentration, awareness, proper intent (like not attaching to jhana 1 - fml) and culminating in jhana 4.

You are right that there are these idiots who fish for compliments and some kind of cool points when they say they meditate. But real meditation is the exact opposite of thinking really hard.
